[2022] Beijing Winter Olympic Games: Fluff, News, Other Sports, etc!

Featured Replies

Hungary won a bronze medal in the short track mixed team relay event, so this is the country's second Winter Olympic medal since 1980.

I have only seen the final and it was very exciting. Hungary was on 2nd place when the Canadian skater pushed her back and both fell. They continued, and initially Canada was 3rd, Hungary 4th when they reached the final, but after that the judges reviewed the incident and Canada was disqualified from the competition. I am happy because we got a medal, but if the accident hadn't happened maybe Hungary could've got the silver medal or maybe even the gold. China won in a really close few seconds ahead of Italy. Congrats to the medalists!

Congrats to Dawid Kubacki for getting bronze, after miserable season polish ski jumpers were having I didn't believe any of them have chances for medals here :)

Yeah but if one of them was to get a medal, I'm glad it's Dawid, Kamil has 3 individual golds after all :) Interesting what they can do at next one, and if Kobayashi can get second win

Off topic a lil but if only this happened in FS and for Yuzu…

I moved your post here because it was off topic in the other thread.

So this happened yesterday and now whole Hungary is raging. You can only imagine. There were 5 skaters in the final, 3 of them were Chinese, two of them (the Liu brothers) Hungarians (they grew up in Hungary and train here, their father is Chinese btw). Liu Shaolin initally won but he got disqualified so that a Chinese skater, Ziwei was awarded the gold instead.

When I saw 3 Chinese would be in the final along with the Liu brothers, I said nope, none of our guys gonna win because they make sure China gets some medals there including gold.

At short track competitions, btw, it's possible to fill the hole if the quality of isn't good. It's what happened in the competition yesterday as well: they noticed something fell on the ice, so they restarted the race and in the meantime they filled the holes.

Thanks. I don’t know where else to post it and to be honest I’m too sad and depressed to find out.

now, if only, if ever, just once, for Yuzu… like the short track situation and the petition….
