That video of Jin makes me uncomfy. If he didn't expect the paps at the airport it means that the information was not supposed to be out there for any one to know that he was travelling. So it obviously got leaked...

but I did notice that the usual gaggle of "fans" weren't there. So at least some of the leaks have been plugged if not all.

wow. they're swinging for the fences, aren't they?

Unfortunately, it is the Grammy members who do the voting.  Every single one of those deserves a nomination but I'm not holding my breath.

Let's go!!

The only one I have an inkling of hope for is RM, and even that feels delusional. After all the acclaim this year, if he doesn't get that nomination, I fear they'll never win a Grammy.

The most telling Chris Martin quote in what is a Rolling Stone article (it's the "threads" post i posted earlier) is "And there’s cameras everywhere in their world."

When I wonder if it's the genuine them we see, like in In the Soop, or even Are You Sure?, which has far more intrusive camera crews (I think - because I do think that In the Soop was mostly put together from the cameras that were all over the place and only some of it shot by cameramen), this puts it out there that there are always cameras around and they probably got used to that many years ago. I realize there is so much we don't know about the members and their interaction when there are no cameras around, but feel more confident that what they show us is genuine.  We don't get it all, and I'm glad that we don't (because they should have their private lives) but what we do get is real.

I think it will depend totally what category it's in - alternative?  It's not very "pop" - but so brilliant.  And it's impossible to actually put SNTY next to Lost in the MV category and pick one over the other.  One is all pop and in English.  The other a masterpiece.  (I think "Who" would be in the same category as SNTY - but again, not really remotely similar to Lost.)  Also - Tae really fits into a jazz category.  Hobi is also "alternative" but, as much as I love his album, he is the one here that I feel solidly won't get a nom because it's not anything most of the Grammy voters would be able to relate to.

I guess we'll see - but I hope that OT7 gets not only a nomination but a win when they release new stuff (probably wouldn't time-qualify until 2026).

I never doubted that, and I'm surprised that anyone would. Even when they're doing product placement during their content, they make it adorably obvious that's what they're up to.

I think it's best to be realistic about these things. Seven was easily the most successful song and had the most Western support and that didn't get any nominations so no way will SNTY, Friends, Neuron, or Who get in there.

Album of the year and the pop categories in general are too competitive with big name Western artists.

The only reason I have a smidge of hope for RM is because he's gotten so much critical acclaim by Western media and even then, he's an outside shot. But ARMY kind of failed him - he didn't get nearly the commercial success as ML and you need both to have a real shot.
