Have y'all listened to ARIRANG? What's your favorite track? My top 3 would be Like Animals, One More Night, and they don't know 'bout us !! :tumblr_inline_n0o1fjLfy91qid2nw::tumblr_inline_n0o1fjLfy91qid2nw:

I like Into the Sun and SWIM. over all I'm very surprised and excited by this album. It's something new in terms of sound and genre for them, it's nothing I expected, but I love it.

I agree, they said it themselves that this album shows a more matured side/sound of them compared to their previous albums. It may not be everyone's cup of tea but I really love the album overall!

Me, too - haven't settled on favorites yet.  Swim is very easy to listen to over and over,  Into the Sun,  Body to Body.  I have to listen about a dozen more times to nail down favorites though already made a super long playlist on Spotify...

I'm not sure of favorites yet. Right now, I'm thinking:

Body to Body (should have been title track for both quality of the song and because I think it would be more impactful to the general public)

Like Animals

Merry Go Round

But sometimes songs surprise me. My immediate impression of Jin's Echo was that "Don't Say You Love Me" was a bad choice for title song but I still find myself humming it

ETA: After listening to it several times, I guess Swim is growing on me. Maybe it does have staying power.

The best 30 seconds of the entire album is 2:27 - 2:57. I question using RM to sing so much on the album since his vocal abilities are limited, but the juxtaposition of that mellow husky baritone with the crystal clear powerhouse vocals by Jin is sublime. I love the sounds of their voices contrasting each other - was also the best part of the "Fix You" cover they did.

Yes but he's got a unique texture and colour that can't be replaced. Sometimes it's not about being a 5-octave virtuoso, it's about having the exact right touch for the song

Top 3 currently:

Body to body

Normal

They don't know bout us

I still don't like all songs on the album, but the live show proofed how songs performed live can change an opinion right away.

And swim feels like a warm hug to me🥰.

As a general body of work, I absolutely love it. Every song makes sense. The production behind it is exceptional, very experimental a lot of times which I love to see. They're not following a single formula there and that's what makes it so special.

On an individual song level, yes I have my favourites and my least favourites. Normal, Like Animal, Into the Sun, Body to Body, Swim are all up there. Alien for its message holds a special place. Hooligan makes me behave a bit psycho, not gonna lie. FYA and 2.0 only grew on me because of the live performances really but they are not my top picks. They both feel too repetitive to listen on its own, lyric wise. Although again, production is top notch. The remaining tracks are all a vibe, definitely not skipping them.

I just love the harmonies in Like Animals between Tae, JK and Jin. I'm not the biggest fan of expressing who who is doing a better job, or who stands out the most. I'm the type that thinks that they all compliment each other so well and that it wouldn't hit the same had it been done any differently. They know where their talents lay, and how they can mesh them together to make something exceptional. It's amazing to see it.

Agree that, in its entirety, I really love it - hard to pick a favorite. Swim, Body to Body, Merry Go Round, They don't know 'bout us, Hooligan (Jack in the Box vibes), Like Animals, 2.0...  The only one I can say I don't really like much is Aliens.  I think that if Normal is going to be a MV, they'll need the "clean" version and not the explicit.  It oddly unnerves me to hear Jin singing "shit".
