This is what I thought. -3Lo does make sense.

I find it curious that Patrick says Yuzu is more expressive now and some people said he lacked it in H&L. I guess there are different ways to understand expressiveness.

I love -lo combos :10636614:

I wonder if it might be cultural. The crticisms I've heard seem to come mostly from America which is the polar opposite of Japan in terms of appreciation of subtlty. (Please don't take that as a criticism of American culture.) On the other hand Europeans seem much quicker to label his programs masterpieces. It also seems a lot of Hanyu fans were interested in or familiar with Japanese culture to begin with so maybe it's not such a struggle to interpret his performances. (I myself am a ridiculous level 99 Japanophile since tiny times.)

Just wondering aloud.

The original post said Yuzuru has become a better skater and performer.  I didn't see "expressive"

He said 表現者 which my dictionary translates as "expressive person (e.g. in musical performance)"

Thanks to TrollZuzu, say goodbye to baby swan...only 3 days

Being worried is a constant state for fanyu, even in off season.

I thought I could relax a bit during ACI at least, but then we got Javi with 4Lo :dbana:.

I suppose so but even among fans of figure skating I've noticed it. Maybe they're more nationalistic than me - well, any American is probably more patriotic than any Australian could ever be - but I don't care about nationality in this sport - I just want the best to do well.

We still have got Niigata broadcast (please Fuji TV, show us the opening and the finale! )

Yokohama exhibition and 24h TV this month. And probably some more footage from media day.

Not bad at all.

(I use Yomiwa app on Android. It's really handy.)

I see, you are translating from the Japanese post (translated from Chinese post), I am translating from the original Chinese post. 表現者 means different  And it seems that there is no English interview script, so I didn't see "expressive".

パフォーマー:biggrin: is the right word I think :)

I find it odd that he is said to lack expression- for me he's the only one of the top 6 who is capable of different expressions. BJ and JF are cheerful,  SU has his stare which might with age and experience mature into more,  NC let his music do the emoting for him last season and again might be better as he matures, and PC himself always looks the same to me.  Give me YH any day- each programme has a different emotional atmosphere.

Not a quiet off-season at all :winky:

I feel awful but I kind of need to see that opening before I die.
