I guess many people feel slightly (or greatly) disappointed and it is ok. But it is Yuzu who will skate at the Olympics, so he has the right to choose the music he wants and feels comfortable with. Now I only wish for at least one more season for him as competitive skater with no repeats. When I first heard about Chopin 3.0 I was worried about the damage that unclean perfomance of WR-breaking program could do points-wise. But last season with two new programs judges were already harsh with him. So there is nothing to lose in that sense. And judges don't follow Yuzu the same way we do. Probably they don't care that much about repeating? Couldn't agree more with you. I don't understand why reusing old programs will hurt him. Skating to new programs with errors will not help him as we can see from last season. So I strongly believe as long as he stays on his feet, he will be fine. Link to comment

CupidsBow
if you look at his layouts next to each other (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1JKEpZyL6gJen3eaO4OtJbr53f7VyTpAF0IvZkjszfhw/edit#gid=1927122440) On the one hand, the proposed Seimei 2.0 layout is both very similar to Seimei 1 and H&L (and POTO) so if his aim is consistent clean performances with increasing quality through the season, then the rhythm of the program and the content being similar to previous versions and previous programs should help with that goal - though I duno how much close to 100 in PCS judges will let him get. The downside is the BV difference not really being a lot in comparison to last season, considering he's adding another quad, and if he does carry over some of his mental block there's not a lot of padding there, unless he yolos a 4lz or something. He can outscore others on quality if he's clean but Shoma does get some nice GOE and nice PCS, and will have a higher BV. I prefer being in a position with Yuzu where if he skates well, not even perfect, he's still got a good chance of winning without necessarily relying on other skaters to make major errors. I'm sure he has calculated all this stuff himself and has weighed up all the pros and cons of his plans as well as making a bunch of contingency plans and alternate layouts but i'm kinda ehh about this layout right now. There is a lot of risk in going with a layout so relatively safe...but if everyone else with their new quads and higher value quads pushed to the second half do have a hard time getting their planned content landed, and Yuzu's safer plan works out for him.... I mean, I guess he really doesn't want to splat at Pyeongchang, but i'd hate for him to somehow be edged out because someone who took a bit more of a risk got lucky on the day. As I said elsewhere~ I will believe for sure 4lz is not happening if it hasn't appeared by NHK. If at the end of NHK we still have this layout I'm gonna assume its set and he's going to play a bit more in another season. Link to comment

It's especially extreme on twitter and all this is giving me anxiety attacks again. A lot of people is saying he's basically handing the "victory" to nat/sho.. I'm just here reading through it all The little transition from waiting for FS announcement to layout talk is I prefer him to aim for a clean performance rather then bring very unstable 4Lz into a game (I feel like it's different from 4S-planned fall situation in Sochi cuz judges will not excuse his mistakes this time around). I'm just not very happy about replacing second 3A with 4T. Love his 3As too much 23 минуты назад, xeyra сказал: And I'll miss the element structuring of H&L, to be honest. I really liked the jump after the Choreo sequence, no matter how nerve wrecking it was, as well as the 3F right after the StSq. The 5 jumps in a row in Seimei never left him much space to breathe in between the last few elements. Yeah, I agree with this. For me Seimei is still more powerful and interesting programme then H&L (sorry, can't resist intense!Yuzu) but H&L structer was really better, Seimei has this jump-after-jump moments. Link to comment
yuzuuu
I agree that judges, commentators etc prob won't care about the repeats if they're not following yuzu as closely as we are. I still rmb how for WC2017, someone said yuzu haven't had a great performance since Sochi and I was like 0.0 clearly Seimei and Chopin never happened. Link to comment
Valkyria
I'm gonna keep a reserved prognosis about the layout. He's shown a bunch of things that are on the table and explained a couple, but notice he's still keeping his options open and not really confirming much of anything. Yuzuru plays the long game, I wouldn't fully trust anything right now Link to comment

He is at the toppest of top right now. Everyone is watching him including his rivals. So, maybe he wants to keep the 4Lz until he's really sure about it. If not, all of rivals would have started thinking a counter attack for his BV, because let's be honest, even with BV like this, he's still scary Link to comment
