I understand he sees SC silver as a defeat, but World's silver too

Thousands of skaters out there would die to get a silver at Worlds and yet he looked so crushed I couldn't even bear watching  :slinkaway:

I don't think he is the type of guy who would enter a competition knowing he wouldn't win... I'm pretty sure he would r***** when he's still able to jump 4Lz and 4A. But yeah I don't see him gone so soon... he loves Japan too much to go when Japan still doesn't have another two rising stars to secure 3 spots at Worlds and Olympics :acceptable:

One has to wonder what effect would a second OGM have on him... his younger self said he might decide to r**** after that, but what if, once he'll have it... he'll actually crave for more?! :rofl: That would totally be In Character.

I think he loves competing. He loves the challenge and the new rules will certainly be a challenge too. Then there's the idea of the 4A too. I think he wants to leave that mark in history, and while he already has, there's always 'one more thing'.
While he's healthy and enjoying the competitions, and while he's competitive, I think he'll stay. The shows don't give that feeling that competition does, even if he's free of constraints there.

That has been my secret hope for some time.

I think that the manner in which he would get the second OGM might count in some way too...maybe

You mean: another kuyashii win (OGM without clean programs) = "GUESS I'LL JUST HAVE TO WIN AGAIN AT THE NEXT OLYMPICS" :xD:

Chill = Absolute zero.

Would it really be that hard to imagine/believe?!:devilYuzuf:

*note:i don't wish that on him.I always want him to have the skate that would make him as happy as possible. But there's a possibility, you know...

I don't think that he would stay until the next Olys in such a case, but imo he would be at least: 'just let me break another few records and win another couple of world titles [and land that 4A] before i'm done with this' :hachimaki:

The fact that you mentioned the new rules has got me thinking. I agree with you, I think these changes will motivate him to transform even further his idea of skating, they will motivate him to "win anyway, even when the rules change". Also because he is the reason number 1 these changes will happen.

I kind of would like to see what he could do with less 30s and one jumping pass to eat at his stamina in the FS.

It's still the Long Program, only 30s shorter than before!

Yeah I know, still, it's always been kinda tough for me to think of LP music because 4.30 minutes is... less time than it seems? There isn't a lot of Classical music that can be condensed in that little amount of time. So I guess the problem will only increase with the change.

But oh, why am I worrying, it seems like finding new music year by year is not a trend of figure skating anymore

:consoling2: Unimaginativeness is only this high during Olympics. I'm sure good music choices will appear once people aren't shitting themselves about that one 'every-4-years' competition.

Then we have to make sure to make a looooong list of Musical pieces we want to suggest Yuzu for the next years after Olympics (so as to subtly ask him never to r****) and then send the list to TCC or wherever he's more likely to receive it.

If we have him skate to everything we'd like him to skate to, he'd have to be immortal..
