  1. Also this: "Hono Segawa, 16, a first-year student at Sendai Shirayuri Gakuen High School, who competed in the junior women's division, said, "It was amazing with the precise steps even at a fast tempo" [bolded by me]. Louder, please! Yuzuru Hanyu makes a surprise appearance "Paris Walking Path" Sendai Mayor's Cup figure (Kahoku Shimpo Digest) (line.me) (By the way, some YT vids of this unannounced guest appearance in a local competition already have more views than the official footage of any of the GPF contestants. Just saying).
  2. The key word here is 'successfully', I suppose. Anyway, the award itself looks quite artificial to me and I think what matters more is the ever-growing authentic global interest in everything Yuzuru does and how Beijing has boosted his popularity, because that speaks for itself. Awards look good in short, introductory texts aimed at uninformed people, but what is the first thing you think of when someone mentions the Beatles or Michael Jackson, the awards or the actual impact they had on the people in their time? Can you name any award given to Nurieyev or Nijinsky? I haven't heard of any award for Shohei Ohtani, but I've certainly heard of him, even if I'm less than interested in baseball, and I can't imagine anyone talking about the history of this sport in the future and not mentioning Ohtani. The same will be true for Yuzu and the history of figure skating, regardless of who this or that award goes to.
  3. Yes, I agree, but also this particular performance was very special and extraordinary even by Yuzu standards imo. Together with Notte Stellata in PyeongChang it is for me the most moving of his gala performances to this day. The way it was filmed certainly also contributed greatly to how I feel about it.
  4. My POV: they had to include Yuzu in the JNats commercials so that viewers wouldn't get confused as to which tournament it was about, because, c'mon, JNats without Yuzu? Besides, when you do an advert for a football match, you show the ball, when you announce a ski jumping competition, you show the skis, when you advertise a figure skating championship, you'd better show Mr. Figure Skating
  5. Well, at least we know they know who is still the main character 😅
  6. Me too, and I love watching him bursting with joy, with that youthful, playful energy backstage just before the medal ceremony at the 2011 JNats when he won bronze. He was so genuinely happy then! And I can hear that roar from the audience, and the applause shaking the hall. They already knew, didn't they?
  7. In the final hour of Yuzu's Birthday 🎂 I would like to wish him: May your spirit soar free and unfettered, may your feet always find the right paths, may your heart always feel all the love of the good people who stand by your side. 🍙🍯
  8. I like the contrast between the two pictures. Very significant. He can be both like water and fire, once the wind and once the earth, at will.
  9. Thank you very much for your report, I found it pleasantly poetic. I especially appreciate that you included the unique associations you had with various elements of the show, such as the mental images evoked by the sound of the shamisen (which I also enjoy immensely) That made the atmosphere almost tangible for me.
  10. I'm still catching up, but man, I laughed so hard when I realised that the posts about Tokyo Dome were not another return of Fanyus' fantasies, but actual news. I mean, it sounds like an alternate reality! The man is a Final Fantasy himself.
  11. Wow, they put a lot of effort into it.
  12. Woaaah...! Thank you, I didn't know there were so many different slugs They look so beautiful (and scary at the same time). My favourites are: LGC, Origin 1.0, Fleeting Dream and HYK slug We should have an unofficial Prologue merch line, Fanyu version
  13. "My mental strength is like tofu" I want that on my T-shirt.
  14. Sooo... they have to mobilise four major fandoms in order to somehow counteract the influence of one little Yuzu?
  15. I think this will change once the anti-covid measures are relaxed in China and Russia ends the war in Ukraine. TBH I don't expect FS to collapse, there are still many people who like it as it is. (Not me though. Dispite some interesting moments I have so far failed to really engage with this GP series. I'm starting to wonder if I am really a FS fan like I used to be as a teenager, or just a Yuzu fan. Watching some GP crumbs, I'm still mourning the fact that I was late to the Yuzu's competitive party. Sorry for the mood ).
  16. Has this been posted before? Google Translate: 'Hearing at Waseda University Faculty of Human Sciences e-school. Great potential for open research. I was surprised by a very good special contribution (published) by gold medalist Yuzuru Hanyu'. (Although 立派 rather means 'impressive' here?) According to Wikipedia, Mr. Masahiko Shibayama 'is a member of the House of Representatives belonging to the Liberal Democratic Party (6th term), Deputy Secretary-General of the Liberal Democratic Party and Chairman of the Federation of Saitama Prefecture Liberal Democratic Party. He served as Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology from October 2018 to September 2019'. Whatever his reason for twitting about it, I am proud as a Fanyu. #FanyuPride #ILoveNerdyHanyu This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  17. Continuing the 'Yuzu's Neverending Story in as many reveals as you need' thread: @Beatrice I've read that Microsoft Edge is the best when it comes to managing multiple open tabs, so I switched to it on my computer and it works great. You can also add as many page addresses as you like to your favourites list and pin them to the bookmark bar. In addition, there is always an option to open another browser in a different window if you want to check something that might work better in it. Hope it helps
