That's why I'm trying to convince you to join the club of "shamelessly walking up to your idol and splatting all over his face your eternal love in a passionate and polite fashion" Or you could also join Yuzuru's group "Go up to your idol and ask him Adbaizu purizu so that he can become your sensei and you can conquer his heart with your cuteness"
-
Oh yes, this too. I think the differentiation between a sincere compliment and an empty one is something only Yuzu can do, in the moment it happens. But it's pretty noticeable the difference when someone is a fan of what you do, of how you are as a person, and wants to take a little of that amazingness for themselves (which I would do, definitely) and when someone has seen your face and wants likes on facebook by "winning" a photo with you. I have a small presumption of thinking that by sharing my affection for who they are and what they do, I am actually enriching them - much like the fan letters they receive, that they read and appreciate so much. It's a win/win situation, when it's done in a correct and polite fashion! Cameras and media following him everywhere and being treated like he is untouchable is what makes Yuzuru feel lonely. But receiving deep, true affection by someone you didn't know existed a second before you met them... that's kinda awesome and can change how a day is going.

Yeah, I completely get it. But it's not the attention per se, I'd say. He likes the attention, that's the reason he liked skating so much when he was little. But one thing is looking up and seeing smiling faces who cheer for you, one other thing is seeing a non-human all-watching eye (the camera eye) that follows your every move. Big Brother style, if you know what I mean.

Oh right, Japanese problems. Didn't consider those Oh well, you don't really need a hug from Yuzu to feel his humanity and affection, so it's okay. To me, as long as you treat the person you are approaching like they are humans, and not aliens coming from outer space, not deities or hallucinations, then everything will go all right.

Completely agree. To go up and talk to him and tell him how much you appreciate his work, is a human connection. A picture is just a picture and might make him uncomfortable if he notices but decides to say nothing. In this case, I wouldn't worry because they said he shook hands with the photographer... he's just too nice...

I'm definitely team approaching here. But everything depends on how you do it! I would definitely try to say something in Japanese, speak to him in a low voice so it doesn't look like I am spotting a celebrity (so no one would bother him), and apologize for just coming up to him and speaking to him. Once that wall is broken, if he's in a good mood he might give you one or two minutes to chat and then a selfie to complete the most wonderful two minutes of your life! Maybe I would go as far as ask him for a hug... but the last time I met with an actor I admired, he gave me the hug himself, so maybe I'll try to play the adorable little girl one more time *very clear plan*

Eeeek! Scary little furret face!

Awwwww and then send it to him. Somehow. Let him know we're at every corner of the world

Awwwww so cute, that birthday chorus! I wish I could have been there ;3 And yay, waking up in the morning with 2 pages from 1000! Let's get this party started!
-
For now nothing, just a hand position variation in the last sit spin of Seimei. But since that's the only spin we saw of the LP, he might be keeping something up his sleeve!

It's just breathing air after all; how would we live without it? As far as celebration for 1000 pages is concerned, I think I will dedicate myself to do a fanvid before the season really starts, as a token of good luck. Gathering all of the clips is the hardest part of doing a fanvid, and I'm starting tonight, so ganbare myself

It's a question of survival for me. If I don't have something to look forward to for the next four years, I'll just stop getting up before noon every morning

I was just trying to fake some humbleness Yazunori style

Monster Hanyu could bring up in interviews post Pyeongchang gold win "Oh, two Olympic golds were just the minimum for me - now that I am the absolute champion again, I definitely want a third Olympic gold to become the best ever for the next 30 years or so"

Seimei step sequence in Red UA... do you want to kill us Zuzu
-
The source, of course, is our second lord Max Ambesi... who didn't speak about him landing it every time, but... Max is also the one who said at Worlds 2017 that "if they (the competition) won't make him think too much about it... he will keep 4Lz for the season (after the Olympics)." Meaning, it would be unwise for Yuzuru not to add the 4Lz. Although, if Max is saying this, it's because he knows the percentage rate of the 4Lz is high enough for Yuzu to add it. The Italians FS experts and veterans are quite sure about Yuzuru adding the 4Lz this season.
-
I guess a 4Lz would have -3GOE, and his 3Lz usually doesn't get more than +2 GOE (please correct this if I'm wrong). But a fall in a clean program would cost him PCS, because that's the way PCS go these days. If he yolos out a 4Lz at the end of the FS and nails it, that would be... alien. Also very much like him. He didn't train 4Lz at the end of Hope and Legacy for fun, did he?
-
Well, there would be only one other thing except kuyashii that would motivate him to upgrade mid-season, and that is competition being as clean as he is. If everyone will do their best, Yuzuru will want to do double his best. But maybe that alone wouldn't make him change plans last moment. Aaah, this was the kind of brainstorming I was missing before the media coverage days!
-
So from someone who has this as a record: - bombs layout of short program - invents harder layout - breaks world record with said harder layout What can we expect?
-
Oh by the way, didn't Yuzu change his layout in 2015-2016 after Skate Canada, and then BAM made both the SP and the FS clean right after that change at NHK?
-
I get that being worried is pretty easy but, I see people getting worried because Yuzuru actually is in advantage right now?? Why worrying about something positive? His programs are already around 90% completed whereas his rivals would be around no more than 60%, even if they recycled one of the two programs. I think Yuzuru knows this very well. If he said there is no time for new programs, then rest assured, layout is his one and only focus. So if he will see there is the necessity to add 4Lz (and he probably will), he will add it and it will be ready, and I'm sure he is training with that necessity in mind right now. If we don't like saying goodbye to one 3A? Trust me, neither does he. But becoming familiar with 5 quads first and proving to himself he can do a clean 5 quads program before GPF is key, because it gives him leverage for Olympics, it gives him psychological power over his rivals, it gives him the chance to peak at GPF just like he did in Sochi. I mean, Yuzuru has given us many reasons to worry about him, but layout was never one of them, was it? Am I mistaken? He never allowed anyone to leave him behind. And he never will, because that's not Yuzuru Hanyu.

That sit spin with the hand position yesssssss! Aaaaahhhhh and everything else is just... I can't comment
-
The closest thing to his mindset I can come up with is... "Let me get comfortable and win a couple of gold medals with a 5 quad program... and then I'll bring in the 4Lz to completely destroy the remains of the competition I had left"

Might debut the 4Lz at the GPF then... just maybe. If he doesn't break world records without it before then xD
