  1. I'm not worried by his weight. Brian said he's been keeping up with off-ice conditioning even while he couldn't skate and last we heard Yuzu was being very attentive to his diet the make sure he was eating foods to help muscle preservation and recovery. It's possible he lost body fat but maintained or even increased his muscle mass. I mean. In some photos you can see his thigh muscles even in those pants so. i'm. not concerned.
  2. he could do but it would be a pain in the ass. tbh if he wants to avoid media it'd be way easier for him the do a gate switch. Say the passengers for this flight are supposed to be coming out at c gate, all the fans and media are at c gate. yuzu behind the scenes wanders a bit and exits out of F gate instead. Down the opposite ass end of the airport. By the time anyone realises he's already in his car or whatever and gone. JSF could totally arrange for that.
  3. There is not an airport in Gangneung, but there is one in the Gangwondo area. However I think the only international flights Yangyang has are to China and possibly Japan. So, I think Incheon is the only real option. Aside from maybe Gimpo but I'm not sure Gimpo does direct flights to/from Canada. My experiences in Incheon haved always been good and stress-free. My luggage always arrives quickly, immigration doesn't take forever...it's good. If Yuzu can use the fast track for immigration it shouldnt take long for him to be out the gate after the plane lands.
  4. it could be an airport delay so anyone tracking might see the plane do some holding patterns before landing. it sucks but it happens.
  5. I hope fans may behave but lots of media competing for clear images? THAT will be a mess. thats the main reason i'm not going to see him arrive. i'd laugh if tracy and javi come out but yuzu pulls a gate change lmao
  6. urm. If he's taking a commercial flight to Incheon? Yeah. He'll land around 3:25pm KST. I expect pictures/videos to be up on news sites around 4:30/5pm KST
  7. How long does he want his limbs to be? Does he aspire to be like this? Also... About there being not a lot of baths... I think showers are just really dominant in Korea. Knowing the olympic village will be sold as regular apartments after the olympics it isn't shocking at all to me that there are few baths. But baths tend to be better for muscle care and recovery I think so I guess that sucks.
  8. It'll be a combo of make up, lighting, and styling. Soft lighting can do a LOT
  9. I would order it but i dunno my new address yet and i'm moving in mike 2 weeks ;; so pretty
  10. It's really frustrating when people bash pointlessly. I think if he skates his best, anyone watching will understand why he's so highly praised. If they know/care about the sport, his quality will trump nationalism. But there's always going to be dumbasses that use the internet the vent pointlessly. It's fine so long as it never reaches Yuzuru. As long as media stays neutral/favourable I don't really care. I can't imagine anyone will misbehave in an Olympics crowd and there will be so many Yuzuru fans in the crowd anyway any negativity would be drowned out. I think Yuzu is smart enough to know that no matter what he does, there will always be people who dislike him for some reason and it's better to just 1) focus on people who wish him well 2) focus on himself, what he wants, what his ideal is, how he thinks he can be a better skater/person and being satisfied with himself. As for fans in Korea getting their stalk on...I think people know how to behave. I assume he will have some security or smth. I think a lot of fans will not want to disturb him too much? Olympics are important, we want him to win more than anything - that might stop a lot of people from doing anything that could make him uncomfortable. As for being noisy/distracting at practice etc... Korean/Chinese/Japanese fans often monitor in groups. In the kpop fandoms I've been in if someone was doing something out of line they got called out on it and told to stop. Bad behaviour gets shut down quickly within good fandoms. I don't think there will be a problem because any bigger name fans for Yuzu will call people out if anything out of hand happens. Public shaming on twitter is often enough to put a stop to bad behaviour - as is the threat it might happen lol
  11. luckily this is Korea. there will be high-quality fancams from multiple angles lol I dont really do video put i will be aiming for photos. I might video the run-through though
  12. I'm gonna drop something I tweeted a few days ago to kinda of ease some minds. Nathan's highest GOE accumulated over 2 programs this season in international competition is 12.57 points. Yuzuru got 13.07 points in GOE at CoR for his free program alone. If we include nationals, Nathan's highest GOE over both programs is 26.7. Shoma's is 31.44 (lombardia) with a potential to get 32-33 points out of GOE across both programs. When clean, Yuzuru can get up to 35~39 points in GOE across his two programs. Both Nathan and Shoma have been getting around 45-46/92-93 in PCS (or 136 points in PCS over both programs) while Yuzuru averages at around 46-47/93-94 (or 141) with his highest PCS being like 48-49/97-98 (or 146). Going with 4 quads, no 4lz, there will be some BV difference but if everyone is clean (lol) he facts is Yuzuru's technique is such he either lands a jump to the highest quality or pops it or falls. There's not much in between. Nathan and Shoma might land the jump to no deductions but have some weakness there that holds GOE down and their PCS overall isn't up to Yuzuru's level. The BV gap is not going to be the 16 or so points a clean Yuzuru has over them in GOE and PCS, and it would take some WILD judge f*ckery for that gap to be significantly closed. Also. Shoma hasn't produced two clean programs all season with his most frequent errors being on his 4F. Neither has Nathan, and Nathan keeps changing his layout and has apparently not decided his layout for Olys yet. I would be REALLY surprised, given the competition schedule too, if they both skate clean. If Yuzu is dropping the 4lz and all other jumps are training well...I'm SUPER not worried. This is good news. Yuzuru really wants clean skates and a decisive win and he could have a better chance of achieving that without the 4lz.
  13. He could. I think either is a good option tbh. 5 quads would still be a challenge and ~kinda~ still be in line with Yuzu's ambitions for this season, just without the 4lz - a compromise but not a huge one, probably not even a significant compromise points wise since he can get higher goe of the 4s and 4t solo and in combos. 4 would still be plenty competitive (esp since Shoma has gone back to 4, Boyang is doing 4 and Nathan doesn't know what he's doing yet, could also drop to 4 who knows) and a little less risk. Either way he's sticking to more stable quads. It might be worth keeping the two 3as around for the consistency and high goe tho. Whichever way he goes I'm not worried. It's a sensible decision to make.
  14. Likely a good decision. It's not like his layout without it isn't still ambitious. I do wonder tho, will he go for a 4lo, 4s, 4t, and one more quad in combination with two 3a or have combos for the 4s and 4t and just one 3a... I think I'd rather he went for 4 quads and two 3as because it's something he's already done clean? Which would help in having the confidence to pull it off again... Guess we'll just have to see. Not long to go now. EDIT: JINX! @xeyra
  15. I'm not particularly taking Yuzuru opting out of TE as an indication he is not yet totally fit to compete. His team could be taking the injury into account. Even in healed, ligament damage takes a while, he will still need to strap his ankle for like 6 months. The ankle may be healed sufficiently for him to train and compete but it is still vulnerable to reinjury. Not doing the TE lowers the risk, because it gives him a bit more time to train carefully and give it sufficient rest and care, but also cuts out the risk of him competing on it while tired. Between the Team SP and the individual Men's SP is just one week - that must be draining, emotionally and physically. There were plenty of pros and cons for either decision; whether he chose to do the team event or not. There are cons to not doing team but there are also pros, and there would have been cons to opting into it too. I don't really think team would have made much of a difference to the fact it's the first competition in almost 4 months. He'd be going into it with the same kind of mental state either way. I mostly think it was likely a choice made because the team event just isn't a priority - Japan is unlikely to medal even if Yuzuru competed, and his primary focus is the individual event to win the gold medal. Now it is his singular focus. That's all. And, look at ACI. He's capable of producing clean programs straight off the back of a period of not competing. Sure, the free skate at ACI wasn't his best but the circumstances are also different here - he's more familiar with the layout, even if there hasn't been much road testing in competitions, he's had time to adjust and refine in practice, and he's had more than a week to rest the injury. I believe he'll be going into the individual events focused, motivated, fit and not overly stressed. The little media blackout as given him some space and 'quiet', the pressure from media is pretty much off him since people are looking to Nathan as the favourite to win - which will add to Yuzuru's motivation to prove himself as far from out of the race as well as giving him that feeling of chasing from behind, which is where he typically excels. It's easy to say 'this is a bad idea' or 'he should do this', even giving reasons, but the fact is we don't know what the outcome will be and we don't know how that outcome could change if he made a different decision. We don't know how doing/not doing the team event would affect him mentally or physically. But Yuzuru and his team have a better idea of that than we do. He probably thought very hard about this and weighed up what he thought would be best for him and what choice would give him the better chance of success. I'm not freaking out because I'm worried he's still not fit to compete. I think he'll be ready. I am however going to f*cking throw up because that means when I go to the practice on the 15th, assuming he goes to that practice, it will be the first time he's skated publicly in like 4 months and then I have to sit front row for his first sp since CoR. I wish the events were later in the day so it would be slightly more socially acceptable to sneak vodka into a goddamn waterbottle.
  16. we should know this time next week then.... (but i still have this weird feeling he'll show up a\t Gangneung around the 5th idk why)
  17. I imagine for photoshoot, unless he is wearing his own glasses, they are frames with useless plastic in them lol. Perscription lenses aren't easy to guess or just pick up randomly - example; my eyes are different strengths with one being quite a bit worse than the other. Also....coloured contacts are horrible to wear. Super uncomfortable. The worst. 0/10 would not recommend. idk my eyes tend to be dry and fussy with contacts but i tried coloured ones for fun and it was miserable and one popped out randomly while walking down the street. skating in them would be terrible.
  18. One of the funniest was when fans riddled out TVXQs Changmin was having a mean with Song Qian from a reflection in a spoon... (Finding out Yuzu wears contacts from seeing the outline in his eyes doesn't seem that bad to me, it's something you could discover just through editing pics from an event or smth. I have removed food from around idol's mouths before -_- sometimes you just have to hella zoom in even if you not heavily editing)
  19. I think if i were to photograph him i'd be tempted to just do a whole shoot of him eating things cuz he looks so cute ;;
  20. Same. I like Shoma a lot. Loco was a great program the left a strong impression and was memorable. I have watched Turandot 2.0 how many times now?? and can't remember anything except the why hands and the costume. It's a snooze and it's so disappointing because he can do better.
  21. He IS a nerd tho but yeah he looks weird with perfectly neat hair. I guess because we're used to seeing it in its natural state? lol I would rather like to see him in one of these awkward photoshoots actually looking stylish for once. but I guess they know his biggest demographic is probably women his mom's age or older who like the perfect son image? though i image his 20-something following is pretty sizable too. tbh i'd settle for a good photoshoot in his UA
  22. Yuzu and Shoma look like....they just let their hair grow out and put on a little lipgloss lol Adam lookds like a super model wtf Jason looks exactly the same just a slightly narrower face
