And as promised, the 3rd round of results is up - US nationals! It wasn't exactly a good round overall, with especially Pairs being rather "eh, no", and Men and Ladies weren't all that glorious either "xD Overall, golden won the event with 33 points, congrats! She's followed by kaeryth, moni & Yata with 30 points, and then crazykuroneko, LadyLou & me with 28. Highest points achieved in men were 8, by crazykuroneko, moni, golden & me (and no, nobody predicted Ross to be on the podium. Absolutely nobody "xD); in ladies it's 8 as well by YT, followed by 7 posters with 7 points; and in Pairs it was Sammie who got the apparent new limit of 8 points, followed by LadyLou, golden & singcarcom with 7. Dance is the only outlier and saw a perfect score, since kaeryth got everything correct. Sombreuil got the podium correct too and has 12 points. Congrats! Also, crazykuroneko pointed out a mistake in my scores for Russian nationals: I tricked myself and completely forgot that SinKats had to WD! So I forgot to check the substitutes there, I'm sorry for that. I went through the RusNats ID predictions again and corrected the points for everyone, so there was a bit of movement in the overall points as well ^^" Updated list of overall standings with only one round to go: 1. crazykuroneko - 108 2. kaeryth - 106 3. ralucutzagy - 104 4. LadyLou - 102 5. Moni - 101 6. golden - 99 7. Kelly - 98 8. Yatagarasu - 97 9. Sombreuil - 94 10. Neenah 93 And also thanks everyone again for your well wishes, that is very sweet recovery is going fine and I'm a lot better already

Hey everyone - again sorry for the long delay, but results for the Japanese & Russian nationals prediction are finally finished. Starting with RusNats, these are the overall winners: 1.) ralucutzagy - 40 p; 2.) kaeryth - 38 p; 3.) Kelly - 36 p.; 4.) crazykuroneko & xeyra - 34 points; 5.) Yata - 33 points. Sammie won the Men's event with 12 points, kaeryth & ralucutzagy & YT ladies with 12 too, and several posters got the full 14 points in Pairs (crazykuroneko, Kaeryth, Kelly, ralucutzagy, xeyra). In Dance, nobody got over 8 points, but half of our hobby Cassandras got that! Looking at JNats, 1.) goes to Sombreuil with 42 p; then 2.) golden - 40 p; 3.) LadyLou - 39 p; 4.) moni - 37 p; 5.) singcarcom & YT - 35 p. Men turned out to be a "predictable" case for a change, with all of Kelly, LadyLou, moni, singcarcom & Sombreuil getting full points. Crazykuroneko & golden managed 14 in Dance. Ladies broke all our necks (and hearts I guess ) because nearly everyone predicted a certain lady on the podium and Oly team... Waka kind of burned our predictions, and the highest anyone had was 8 points (golden & YT). Pairs is a bit special, and with 1 WDing, we were only left with 3 - therefor I didn't give bonus points for "getting all the names on the podium correct" because... well. Several posters, 10 in fact, managed to get the highest possible of 9 points. Overall, our leaders so far are: 1.) ralucutzagy - 72 p 2.) Kaeryth & Sombreuil - 69 p 3.) LadyLou - 68 p 4.) Kelly & Yata - 67 p 5.) golden & xeyra - 66 p As you can see, all pretty close together so far! The numbers are in a new spreadsheet for the nationals game, here Results for US nationals will follow tomorrow

Well, yes, both... I'm sorry for the delay this time, I had a surgery shortly before Christmas that, eh... didn't make specific things all that easy. And the stuff I can't do on my phone was kind of impossible. That's why I didn't get around as much to the Prediction Game yet. Anyway, the link for the US round is here: https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/198e0ba0-042e-4912-8330-d7b9d948bf90 The first competition is the ladies SP on wednesday, 03.01, 6:35 local time. So that's the deadline. As for the results of Japanese & Russian nationals, I'm not completely finished. I'll try my best to have them done before US nationals start!

Hey everyone! I just want to disturb the ongoing discussion for a second and post here that the PH prediction game is going over to the Nationals round - starting with Russian & Japanese Nationals! (1. https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/5d2e9955-ab76-4154-842f-9f3a2336b725 & 2. https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/c2cd3959-f537-4dba-96b4-2e6d83916336 - as usual also posted in the specific thread in Knicknkacks: General Skating Chat ). Good luck to anyone who wants to try their hand - if there are any questions, go ahead and ask

Hey everyone - here comes the first round of the nationals prediction game, Russian nationals: https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/5d2e9955-ab76-4154-842f-9f3a2336b725 As said before, now you have to fill in the names yourself (or just copy form the list, you know ). Scoring stays similar to the GP, except one thing: I'd like to raise the points for getting someone right in the top 3 from 1 to 2 points, given that we have a higher number of skaters then in the GP, so I think it's more appropriate to give a bit more points for getting a name in the top 3 right at all. Have fun and good luck!

Thank you very much Fay! Then I'll get the Russian & Japanese rounds started over the weekend ^^ And to summerize: I'll list the participants and ask you to list your top 3. Because of possible WDs, I'll add a 2nd question asking for 2 substitutes (so basically 4th & 5th), in case one or even two of your top 3 WDs, those will "move up". Bnus question will still be there too. And if noone screams "NO" withint the next days, then the game will stay on the flexiquiz site and you'll get links as before

Regarding the National prediction game... given that there are a lot more competitors then in the GPs, I'd like to change the format. Having 3 questions with 30 choices to pick from each for gold, silver & bronze seems kind of... needlessly complicated and long "xD So I'd rather list the entries and everyone has to list their own top choices. Personally, I think top 6 makes sense given the huge number of competitors - everyone fine with that? Or rather just top 3? I'd keep the bonus question like they were in the GP game. Given that change up there, do you want to keep the prediction game on that external side, or do you want to switch to posting your predictions in a thread here? Both is fine with me (I'd just post the bonus question together with the list of entries here as well then). Also, looking through the schedule, I'd like to keep it to the 4 biggest nationals: Japanese, Russian, US & Canada. Everything is so close together because of the Olympics this season that I don't think I'd get to handle more then those ^^" And regarding Japanese nationals - do you want to guess the men too, or would you all rather leave that discipline out?

I think I would have stayed with the biggest ones - Japanese, Russian, Chinese, American & Canadian nats. Unless anyone wants more? It'll go 100% into random guessing for me in some cases there, tbh Also, some of them are pretty close together, and end of January Europeans & 4CCs is starting too! Not sure if I can handle 8 wounds in one month "xD

Hey everyone, the results from the last round & final of our GP prediction game are here! 1.) Results of the JGPF predictions: 2.) Results from the Senior GPF predictions: Congratulations so far to all the biggest point collectors from the final round! And with that, on to the last part.... after weeks of sweat, anxiety, panic, hours long mastermind-like strategic & statistical examinations or just random klicking, we've made it - our final standings are here! And for the top 5's in the single disciplines: Congratulations to all the winners, medalists & points getters - and I hope you all had fun with this. Thank you all for participating! (PS: I calculated the scores by hand this time (it involves being stuck on a snowy mountain with no bus in sight and counting via phone, pencil, paper & head ) and so far I haven't managed to fill everything into the excel sheet. You overall points for GPF & JGPF are there, but not the ones for the single disciplines. I'll fill those in too as soon as possible, but it's a bit hectic these days - I'm sorry for the delay! )

What sources would that be? Because from where I looked, I haven't found any, and a lot was still reported as "might", "there are suspicions", or the definite statements between different sources contradicted each other. And I'd like to add that I agree with what Yata just said - "truth" is never as universal as people might think. I've had to learn that pretty quickly in my are of work too (and I work in science, not journalism).
-
Of course you can! We'll be doing Nationals & the big events later too, although it's not 100% clear yet how exactly And @crazykuroneko, you're answers were submitted ^^

Yes, the Junior round only includes the single disciplines, for the simple reason that I thought it would get too long otherwise with all 4 disciplines in Juniors & Seniors & bonus questions (and I thought it's the disciplines people are even less likely to have watched ^^"). I don't think you have to worry about losing points there, at least not compared to everyone else - as everyone usually gets their points from pairs & dance "xD As for the scoring, regarding the top 3 & bonus questions, everything stays the same. Getting a 4th + 6th place finisher right gives you an additional 2 points each. In case you have all 4th - 6th correct it's another 2 points as bonus - so they are basically like the top 3, just the "value" is a bit lower

Not directly - but I can send you your picks per PM if you want to look through. Or just take the quiz again ______________________________ And tadaaaaa~, the last part of the Grand Prix prediction game is here: https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/b8a69b04-dc02-4d14-9b07-e727f02641b6 It's longer then the others and ngl, I felt physical pain trying to guess some of these! Having to guess someone for last is horrible Together with the Juniors, you can get nearly double the number of points of the previous rounds though, so, eh... no pressure? (It was max 56 points so far. Now Seniors is 92 at max, plus 46 in Juniors = 138. So those top rankings can still change a lot! Why did I do that when I'm so high up currently?!) Good luck everyone and tell me if it was as painful for you as it was for me!

Junior ladies is the best discipline at this GPF hands down, IMO. Tbh I was super curious how everyone here would guess, so I checked after I submitted myself what the response summary so far is... and votes really seem more evenly split then we ever had before And @axelnojutsu if you're not too confident in your guesses anymore, just submit new ones again. Same for everyone else, of course ^^
