  1. Hey everybody, I survived (somehow, maybe, I think) and I'm finally back with your results for the final prediction game round! Quite a few of you predicted BoingBoing to win this and my little fan heart died a little every time I saw that ;_____; OTOH, the faith some of you had in Waka... *_______* Starting with Men - on average the lowest scoring discipline (surprise! xD). MajaHled won it with 9 out of 16 possible points, followed by Nuitsuki, LadyLou, Sombreuil, Yuzupon and lilsailor with 8. In Ladies OhYuzu & Sombreuil were the only ones to reach two digit scores - 10 points each. MajaHled, golden, ralucutzagy lilsailor, Lily & Neenah all had 9 points. LadyLou won the Pairs discipline with the only perfect score there, followed by quite a long line of people with 14 points (so all your faith in J/C paid off ). Dance was, as usual, the discipline with the highest points overall, led by Nuitsuki and Sombreuil with perfect 16's! Congrats everyone! As for the overall winners of Worlds: 1.) Nuitsuki - 46 points 2.) Lily - 42 points 3.) Maja Hled & LadyLou - 41 points 4.) Neenah - 40 points 5.) lilsailor - 39 points Again, congrats everyone! I'll be adding the total scores for the "ISU Championships round" and the whole of our prediction game series in the coming days too, please bear with my snail pace
  2. Yes that too! It's not as if post-Oly seasons are all that warhorse free either
  3. Aww, glad you guys have fun with our prediction game It's definitely not the same - but we could come up with other prediction games during the off season too if you want? GP assignments for one, guessing Yuzus new programs, guessing the warhorse of the season... we might find something fun?
  4. Only Senior I'm afraid - I won't get the Junior predictions underway, not enough time
  5. Hey everyone! I'm very sorry for the delay, I was so airheaded these last days... I completely forgot that I have that conference I have to go through right after the end of the Olympics! And while sitting there listening to talks, with my boss sitting beside/behind me, looking at prediction game results was kind of out of the question Anyway, results are finished and up! Overall winners of the Olympic round: 1. Fay & ralucutzagy - 51 points 2. Kelly & moni - 48 points 3. Sayu93, nuitsuki, yuzupon - 47 points 4. axelnojutsu, lilsailor - 46 points 5. cirelle, Neenah, Joey - 45 points As for the single parts: golden & moni had perfect scores for the Team Event round (= 18 p), leading that segment. They are followed by a looot of posters with 16 points. Two more perfect scores were in ladies, with ralucutzagy & yuzupon hitting 16 points. Neenah, lilsailor & Yata all got 13. Pairs was our weakest discipline, with Sammie leading with 13 points. Fay & nuitsuki managed 11 points each. Dance on the contrary was arguably the strongest discipline, with 4 perfect scores: from Kelly, lilsailor, moni & Xen. axelnojutsu, Sayu93, Lily & nuitsuki follow with 14 points. With that, our leaders for the single disciplines and overall are: Ladies: 1. golden - 37 p 2. ralucutzagy - 35 p 3. Kelly & Yata - 34 p Pairs: 1. Sammie - 28 p 2. crazykuroneko - 25 p 3. LadyLou - 23 p Dance: 1. axelnojutsu - 32 p 2. Sayu & Xen - 31 p 3. golden - 30 p Overall: 1. golden - 120 p 2. moni & Joey - 118 p 3. Sayu - 117 p 4. crazykuroneko - 114 p 5. ralucutzagy - 113 p 6. Kelly - 111 p 7. LadyLou - 110 p 8. xeyra - 109 p 9. axelnojutsu - 106 p 10. Neenah & Xen - 105 p Congrats to all our winners and top scorers! If you want to check your scores, remember the sheet is here. As for the bonus questions... Team Event: Which 2 nations outside of CAN, OAR & USA will make the LP? Japan & Italy. Will the winning team (=CAN) win at least half the single events? Yes (Men LP, Pairs LP, Ice Dance SD & FD) Ladies: Will Satoko & Kaori make the top 10? Yes How many ladies will score 36+ in the SP? 4 (Evgenia, Alina, Kaetlyn, Caro) Pairs: Will a clean LP win? Yes How many teams will get at least one 10 in PCS? 3 (Sui/Han in both, Savchenko/Massot in the LP, Tarasova/Morozov in the SP) Dance: Will 5 different nationalities make the top 5? No, 2 US teams made top 5. Will the team winning the SD have all their max levels? Yes. If you have any questions or find a mistake, don't hesitate to ask/tell me!
  6. And so, with the team event drawing to a close and the individual events starting to come closer.... here's the link for the Olympics prediction round! https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/8d65970f-945b-4488-b866-e15a9ca2ed9b As said before, it doesn't include the men, so no Yuzu-jinxing possible. Good luck and have fun with the other disciplines everyone!
  7. Up until the competition starts, which in this case is Friday 10am South Korean time :)
  8. No need to apologize, just send in a second prediction anytime you want ^^ it's helpful for me to get a heads up here, so I know there are multiple predictions in, but then it's no problem to just ignore the old ones. If you feel better with a 3rd or 4th prediction, go for it too ;)
  9. - like it or not, the Olympics are as good as here! And therefor, we'll start with our small Guessing Round regarding the Team Event Link is here: https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/aa0cb351-43af-4281-99de-7b71422727bd Have fun & good luck everyone! PS: Is everyone aware how the team event works? I'll just try to give a short summary, everyone who has questions or wants to correct something, please let me know~ 10 teams have qualified (Canada, China, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, Germany, Russia, South Korea, USA). In the first round, each of them will send one representative per discipline to skate the SP/SD. So we will have a Men, Ladies & Pairs SP and Dance SD event with 10 entries each. Scoring works normally to get to the results, but it's not the scores themselves that are added up. The skaters earn points by placement. For example, placing 1st = 10 points, 2nd = 9 points, 3rd = 8 points... and so on. Then these points get tallied over all the disciplines for each country (maximum number of points being 40). After the SPs, the 5 teams with higher point totals advance to the LP, so that we get a 2nd set of events with 5 entries per discipline. Two short notes: each team is allowed to switch out entries per discipline up to 2x. Meaning that for example two different US Men can skate in the team event, one does the SP, one the LP. If the US also splits their ladies, they will have to have the same Pair & Dance team do both segments though, because 2 is the maximum number of disciplines to switch skaters out. Teams are not forced to switch out twice, they can have more skaters skate both segments. Also, as of know, we largely don't know which skaters will skate in the team event, or which segments specifically they'll take.
  10. Will do Europeans: 3.) The men didn't seem to have the easiest season overall, with many struggling throughout their events. How many of the top 10 LPs will be clean? (Clean = no negative GOE, no popped jumps. Also, this question refers to the top 10 in the LP section, not necessarily the top 10 overall) Answer: 2 or less () 4.) The overall score is made up of 2 different parts - the technical element score (TES) & the program component score (PCS). Do you think the top 5 men overall will also be the 5 men with the highest combined PCS? (Combined = SP + LP) Answer: No (6th place Samarin had higher PCS then 5th place Bychenko *cough*) 7.) Among the elements in the SP is a required axel jump, in ladies typcially a 2A. As the only planed non-triple, it should - theoretically - be the easiest element in the SP. However, this doesn't mean it's anyones strongest jump. Out of the top 10 ladies in the SP, how many will land a clean 2A? (Clean = with at least 0 GOE, or higher) Answer: 7 or more (all expect for Evgenia landed the 2A!) 8.) Besides the axel, there are 5 more different jumps - the toe loop, salchow, loop, flip & lutz. Many ladies (and men) struggle especially with having both a clean flip & lutz, since they are jumped from the inside and outside edge of the same foot respectively. Do you think that at least 3 of the top 5 women will have managed to get a 3F & a 3Lz with no edge calls in the whole competition ratified? (The jumps do not have to get +GOE, but it needs to be triples with no ! or e). Answer: Yes (Alina, Maria, Caro, Loena) 11.) Do you think that the order of the teams on the podium will be equal to their order regarding the highest TES? So 1st = highest, 2nd = middle, 3rd = lowest TES? (TES overall is what counts here, SP + LP. TES of the other teams outside top 3 doesn't matter). Answer: No (Zabiiako/Enbert had a higher TES then Stolbova/Klimov) 12.) Will the top 5 SP teams all be fall free? Answer: No (Stolbova/Klimov & Tarasova/Morozov both had falls) 15.) It will probably be to nobodys surprise when I say that Papadakis/Cizeron are the heavy favorites for the title. Their wins in the GPs (outside of the final) where the most decisive ones too, having the biggest gaps to 2nd place (Chock/Bates in both cases, who finished 15.93 and 20.13 points below them). Do you think they'll manage an even bigger gap, so 20.14+, to 2nd place here? Answer: No (it's 16.03) 16.) Last question - do you think the same 3 teams will be the top 3 in both SP & LP? Answer: No (Bobrova/Soloviev didn't finish top3 in the SD; but 2nd overall) 4CC: 3.) Among the technical elements are also step sequences, which are evaluated in levels (and at maximum as a level 4). Will the top 5 men get their level 4 step sequence in the SP? Answer: No (Shoma quite famously did not... neither did Keiji or Han) 4.) In contrast to the ladies, men don't get called for wrong edges on flip & lutz as often, although it does happen. Do you think the overall top 5 men will avoid any edge calls, ! or e? Answer: No (thanks to the great grand total of... 1 call. Jasons 3Lz! is the culprit) 7.) Will the same lady win both SP & LP? Answer: No (Satoko won the SP, Kaori the LP) 8.) Both SP & LP include 3 spins each, which's difficutly are evaluated in levels (4 being the maximum again). How many ladies in the LP top5 will manage to get all their spins to level 4? Answer: 2 or 3 (Mai, Satoko & Mariah did) 11.) In contrats to Euros, the 4CCs pairs field doesn't include any Olympic medal hopefuls. But do you think at least the winning team will manage a score that would have put them on the Euros podium? (The score of the 3rd team there was 210.18) Answer: No 12.) Ryom/Kim, who are thankfully going to be able to skate at the Olympics, came 15th at last years WC and seem to have a lot of talent & promise. Do you think they'll manage a top 5 finish here? Answer: Yes 15.) Thanks to them not jumping, Dance teams don't have falls quite as often. However do you think we will see at least one fall in the FD segment? Answer: No 16.) In general, Ice Dance is a lot more popular (and successful) in North America then in Asia. Will the NA teams manage to be the top6 here? Answer: No (Muramoto/Reed, Wang/Liu & Min/Gamelin all placed higher then the lowest NA teams)
  11. ~Results for 4CC are here!~ We have a first I think... majorly being way better in the single disciplines then Pairs & Dance! Most points in Men go to Yata with 14 (followed by yuzupon, crazykuroneko & me with 13), ladies saw one perfect 16 score from golden, followed by 14 points from axelnojutsu. In Pairs, the highest we have is 10 points by yuzupon, and then 9 from YT & crazykuroneko. Dance is similar with golden leading the way with 10 points, followed by Sombrieul with 9. Overall, the top 5 from 4CC are: 1.) crazykuroneko - 42 points 2.) golden - 40 points 3.) yuzupon - 39 points 4.) Joey - 37 points 5.) xeyra - 36 points Congrats to all the winners from this round! Looking at EC & 4CC combined, this is the top 5 so far: 1.) crazykuroneko - 78 points 2.) golden - 77 points 3.) Joey - 73 points 4.) xeyra - 71 points 5.) moni, Sayu93, YT - 70 points moni also leads the men with 24 points; golden leads the ladies with 29; crazykuroneko guessed the pairs best so far and has 19 points; and golden also leads Dance with 19 points. But remember, it's only halfway through, so everything can still happen There is again a new spreadsheet for this Prediction Game, link is here. As for the next round - if everyone is fine with it, I'll include the team event, but not the men (since so many didn't want to predict for Yuzu). But I'll basically treat the team event like I do the other disciplines - you guess the top3 and get 2 additional questions. Since the Team Event is so much earlier though (and I'm sure a lot would like to see that first before making single predictions) I'll get you the Team Event in a single questionnaire out first, then follows the rest ^^
  12. Because the Russian federation had a few to much questionable mushrooms, if you ask me. I felt like all of Nastya T, Nastya G & Dasha were held back, but it hit little Tarakanova the most IMO. Obviously I have no real insight to proof it, but it felt to me like they had decided before what the JWC team should be (= Sasha, Kosto, Stasya) and because of her JGPF bronze, Nastya T was the biggest threat to that. So she had to be held down the most. And she was my favorite for that 3rd JWC spot too, but I'd understand if Nastya G or Dasha would get the nod - they both have done well too. But while Stasya is a lovely skater in her own right, I don't think she proved herself like the other ones did. But lol, yes one could call that good news for Rika - if it wasn't kind of an insult to her, because Rika is too amazing to need favors. RusFed just fails
  13. Ehm... is this a test run for a weird funky drama movie script to get another FS movie out after "I, Tonya"? Because I sure feel like the connection to reality is a bit lost by now.. And I can't say how heart broken I am for Ksenia & Ivan (and their partners!). It feels like such a farce, I cant imagine how helpless they must feel.
  14. Maybe until tomorrow, eh, have my notes if you want to know your exact points...? xD
  15. Results for the European Championships predictions are here~ Looking at the single disciplines: moni & Murieleirum win the mens competition with 13 points, followed by Sayu93 with 11. Numbers are similar in ladies - golden, Kelly, novana & LadyLou lead with 13 points, followed by 12 other satellites with 11 points. Xeyra & crazykuroneko got the most points in Pairs with 10 each, Sombreuil & Neenah came closest scoring 9. Ice Dance saw the highest score overall - 14 points achieved by Fay. She's followed by axelnojutsu, YT & Sayu93 with 12 points. Overall, the winners of this round are: 1. Sayu93 with 41 points 2. YT & Murieleirum with 39 points 3. golden & Fay with 37 points Congratulations to all the high scorers and leaders after the first round! (PS: I calculated by hand this time (don't ask, had time at work xDD) but I won't get to add everything into a google spreadsheet today. I will add that tomorrow, sorry for the delay!)
  16. As last time, because 4CC starts so soon, you'll get the questions for the new round first. Link here: https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/8b4a8d0b-3e23-4f55-97b4-b8f5c9e6d207 Good luck everyone and have fun with the 4CC round! PS: Euros results are in the works and will most likely follow tommorow
  17. Well I predicted Samarin to be on the podium and... I'm ready to accept that that was a jinx! The men top 4 right now is (And I think I've jinxed Samarin before... and he always did well when I didn't place him on the podium. It seems I've found my calling )
  18. Then I'm happy I did the right thing by posting here (If it helps, I make this things, and I still nearly forgot them twice too )
  19. Hey everyone, sorry to disrupt the conversation again - but I just wanted to throw out a reminder again that we are having an ongoing Prediction Game on PH, and after finishing the Nationals round we are starting anew with the big 2nd half events in our sights (Euros, 4CC, Olys, WC). And everyone who wants to is very welcome to join in Link to the current round: https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/8e3e8db4-14ce-4cf0-8b0a-212fdeab6cbf And a link to the thread on PH here.
  20. And as promised, results for Candain nationals! Overall, Neenah won this round with 37 points, slightly ahead of crazykuroneko with 36. They are followed by YT with 33, then axelnojutsu with 32 and Sammie & Xeyra with 31 points. As for the single disciplines: crazykuroneko won men with a perfect 14, followed by Neenah & YT who had the podium right, but not the bonus question. Neenah also won Pairs with a correct podium & 12 points again, followed by a lot of Cassandras with 8 points. Kaeryth & axelnojutsu won Ice Dance with 12 points each, followed by Kelly, Sammie, Kaeryth & Xeyra with 11. Otoh, Ladies was the weakest discipline with basically everyone scoring 6 or 4 points "xD Congratulations to all the winners! And since this also finishes the Nationals Prediction game, here are the overall results for every discipline & overall: Men 1. crazykuroneko - 42 points 2. YT - 38 3. Kelly, Moni, Neenah - 34 4. I hope everyone had fun and thank you for playing (PS: if you want to check your points/rankings completely, here is the spreadsheet again )
  21. Hey everyone! First off, results for Canadian nationals are in the works and will come tomorrow, together with the overall results for the Nationals prediction game. But because of Europeans being so close (the first SPs start on Wednesday), first here is the questionaire for that (and therefor for the first part of the 3rd & last round of prediction games!): https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/8e3e8db4-14ce-4cf0-8b0a-212fdeab6cbf It's similar to the Nationals game, you have to name your top 3 in each discipline by writing down the names (or copying them ). But I added a second bonus question each time, because those were asked for ^_^ If anything is unclear, don't hesitate to ask. Good luck everyone and have fun
  22. Haha, thank you everyone for your lovely replies - but aside from the stupid surgery getting in the way (and tbh, my mom ) which caused such a delay around the holidays, it is honestly not such a horrible amount of work, and as long as everyone is having fun, it is very much worth it So for me the nationals set up with the lists works well, and I kind of like the bonus questions and would keep that. I'd be fine with keeping everything the same way, but adding more placements to predict or another bonus question would be fine for me too, don't worry Another thing, Euros & 4CCs are Yuzu free, so they could be normal, but would people like to leave out predicting the men's discipline in the Olympics? I also thought about adding a round for the team event, but we could keep that to the placements of the teams and not predict the single skaters placements, so no possible jinxing Yuzu would be involved. And Canadian Nationals looks relatively easier to predict then the other 3, but if this season has taught us anything...
  23. And to finish my recent prediction game spree - the final round of the nationals prediction game is up! Clicky here~: https://www.flexiquiz.com/SC/N/123c0440-be32-4b46-800f-09f48dba0146 As always, have fun and good luck everyone! Also, we are reeeeaaaally close to the first big ISU competitions, Europeans & 4CCs, and there basically won't be a break for all our fortune telling. Would everyone be fine with keeping the format from the nationals prediction game? Or do you want any changes - predicting more then top 3, more/no bonus questions, anything else?
