I was thinking about the chances of Yuzu participating at JNats and considered renewing my subscription for Japanese TV only to find out that he websites that I knew about (https://japannettv.com/ and https://forjoytv.com/) have been down since July for "maintenance" which I find fishy. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Looks like in the end they were illegal services and if that is the case, I feel awful for paying them in the past. Are there any other websites that we know of?

If he actually aims at Worlds (and plans on releasing the beast there) then that would suit me just fine - I've taken the dive and bought tickets for it after all despite the outrageous prices. Got tummy aches and all. Unlike CoR, Worlds would be the only competition I would attend without Yuzu going. Even though he is the main reason I watch FS, and it would make me sob ugly if he doesn't go, there are still some beautiful gems I would like to watch skate in real life too. And it's closer to home. I hope he is doing fine. Probably still frustrated but on the right track of picking himself back up. He's a tough cookie after all, we love him to bits and he knows it.

My finger is tired of scrolling down by now. ETA: I wonder whether the product is non-bio. My skin is very picky ETA II: I only thought about translating it now. Turns out it's a competition to win an autograph (?) Free marketing at it's finest, ladies and gents.

Just to reconfirm in case I misunderstood the selection criteria Japan has. Do world standing and PB count or is whoever wins X or Y tournament chosen?

Unpopular opinion and this is only on the rubbish basis Japan makes their decision on who will be representing them at the Olympics (but that is a different topic that deserves its own tantrum). Based on their current selection method, I do agree that Yuzu should not be chosen to go to the Olympics if he hasn’t participated in any competitions. While his injury is unfair, it’s also unfair to leave out any skater who has been able to compete consistently during the past year. But I’m obviously not a federation with financial interest and I wish all athletes had the same fair chances. Does that make sense? That being said, I’m a massive advocate for choosing athletes based on ranking and not who wins what tournament. It’s an overall view of performances taking into consideration everything that happened in the past 4 years and not just the last 2-4 months. I the media is always going to be the media. Anything to rile up a specific focus group like us and get clicks. Unfortunately most people fall into that trap and give all parties involved exactly what they want.

Yes. So much yes. I actually prefer the piano version too. It feels a lot ‘clearer’. While I like violins, and they make me sob when they hit the right note, there is something about just one instrument and figure skating that makes me swoon - especially when Yuzu does it. As for the 4F, I always thought that he was able to jump it all this time rotation wise, but the edge was just preventing him from using it in competitions? Or was I putting him on a pedestal? sigh. I miss him.
