The raw emotion that Yuzu shows in his skating is what makes him special to me. Even when I watch 2012 WC R&J, where he was not as polished as he is today and the jumps were not all +3 level, I am moved by it. His pure love for skating is obvious.

Judging from his energy level and hairstyle when performing in MOI, I guess he probably likes Demon Slayer too. Both Tokyo Ghoul and Demon Slayer have some vibes of fighting cannibals.

I have mixed feelings. I can't watch NC because of the overhyping, but I don't like or dislike him, just indifferent. What he achieves or not achieves does not concern me. At this point in Yuzu's career, I am personally zen about whether he gets one more World title. If Yuzu wins only because NC falls, the narrative won't change much and the haters will discredit his win. Yuzu himself probably doesn't like this kind of winning either. Therefore, my dream scenario is where Yuzu skates perfectly, smashes the world record and takes the title, how NC skates doesn't matter. Whether this is possible with the current scoring trend is another issue. The case will be different for Beijing Olympics. I will shamelessly root for Yuzu to skate well and his opponents to fall. (no injuries or sickness though)

We have seen a 24-year old Yuzu wearing PW. It's time to see a 19-year old Yuzu wearing Origin 2.

Yuzu can kick them

I have a list like this too. It includes all his exhibition skates as well. The only senior program I left out is Zigeunerweisen...

Similar reaction when I showed Yuzu's JNats skates to my mum. During the skate, she said "Wow! He is tall and his legs are so long. His jumps look easy." In K&C, she said "how cute and funny he is when he plays with the Pooh bear."

Not sure if this is an old picture or shared already, but it is so cute and funny! This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].

My highest score is 1406 after dozens of attempts. I can no longer look at those Yuzu pictures without thinking about their sequence.

Honestly, I am not that excited at the possibility of Yuzu playing a huge role in the Tokyo Olympics. It seems that the Tokyo Olympics are not entirely welcomed among the general public in Japan, due to Covid and the recent comments from the committee president. I could be wrong as I am not Japanese and I only get this feeling through the media. Of course, none of the issues is Yuzu's fault and I will support his decision if he appears, just that I personally am not excited.

I remember after ACI19 or SC19, Yuzu was asked if he would quit after 4A. He did reply that he didn't know and he might go for the 4F...

Maybe it is because TenChi has fewer catchy poses than Seimei and Origin. The music is more nuanced at the end too. When I first watched it, I expected a Seimei-like climactic music ending and was surprised. However, the more I watch it, the more I love it as I can pick up more nuances in the choreography. Besides, we are comparing a first pancake to the programs that he has skated and refined for multiple times. I am excited to see the evolution of TenChi in the future.

I think the feeling to Japan can be vastly different across Asia. In Hong Kong, Japanese culture is super popular and I have never met anyone (especially in the younger generation) who has negative feeling to Japan. Yuzu is very famous here after 2018 Olympics. When I talk about figure skating with my friends and colleagues, they mostly know nothing about it but they still know Yuzu as "the cute/handsome Japanese boy who won Olympics and loves Winnie the Pooh". They cannot name any other skaters except that one person has heard of Yuna Kim. Taiwan seems to be having a nice relationship with Japan too but I don't know enough to comment. Mainland China appears to have an anti-Japan sentiment, but there are some online comments like "Yuzu is the only Japanese whom I like". It feels like he is universally loved and an international angel of peace.

I want to thank Yuzu for giving us the presents we need in this depressing world. My favourite part in H&E is the step sequence, especially when he stopped for a moment then moved his hand. I don't know much about Japanese theatre, but it feels like he is on the stage with a sword.

I suddenly have a thought that Yuzu may become a great coach in the future. Of course, he is free to choose whatever he wants to do. Just that I didn't associate him with being a coach before, as I thought naturally gifted people usually find it hard to teach others. While he is a hard worker, landing 3A at the 2nd/3rd try just by watching Mao may not be something he could teach others. However, after this competition and his interviews, it seems that he can be a great coach in managing the athletes, both mentally and physically. His study in human science is valuable to them as well. If he wants to be a coach, I will be excited to see how it goes.

I have finally calmed myself down enough to post anything. As a PC fan, I regret not being with him early enough to witness a perfect FP in WC 17. (SC 19 was close enough) This feels like a religious experience even though I'm not religious. Just perfection. About the costume, the 1st picture I saw showed only the shoulder part. I thought the colour was too light and would love to have a darker blue. Then I saw the belt and I am satisfied now.

Honestly the new Pooh is the most surprising. I don't believe anyone saw that coming.
-
I thought Fuji would post another old Yuzu photo. When I saw the new one, I freaked out and ran back to my room to scream, otherwise my parents would be worried about my mental status lol. And we have the new interview too. I feel that I am drowning in the new updates (not complaining haha) as I am used to the desert period. Regarding the 4A, I am totally not surprised that he doesn't include it in competition. I am just wondering if he will try in at gala.

The boy was robbed of the chance at 4cc, he is determined this time

I believe that Ice Rink Sendai can be rented anytime except for the operation hours. Even for the less accomplished skaters, I guess it is possible for them to practise in those hours. Though with Yuzu, they may be even more accommodating to his schedule. Regarding nationals, I am already panicking. Glad that I will be on annual leave for the coming two weeks, else I will be a completely useless employee (if and) when Yuzu appears.

Around 2 and a half year for me, and it was a gradual process. Before Hanyu: I had never been a fan of anyone. I had a lot of favourite singers/ actors/ musicians/ athletes/..., but I didn't really follow their news. I had little interest in their interviews and I didn't comprehend how you can be emotionally invested in someone you don't personally know. Transition process: At first, I was only interested in his skating. Then I somehow clicked into his interviews (probably those post PC Olympics press conferences) and I was hooked. The more I know about him, the more I become a fan of his skating as well as him as a person. After Hanyu: Here I am now, going to competitions (before Covid), buying photobooks, refreshing Yuzu's (possible) news and being worried about him constantly.

Thanks for organizing this project! This is my message to Yuzu: Dear Yuzuru-kun, Happy birthday! You are my biggest inspiration. Following your journey as a fan has given me so much joy. Whatever happens in the future, I wish you good health and happiness always. お誕生日おめでとうございます❗ Carol from Hong Kong

Same, and I am also relieved that he should be healthy now. I am probably too traumatized now and always worried if he gets inj****.

I think this is an old photobook? Kozuka, Mura, Shoma and Sota are also included at the bottom. Just that it is also in black and white.

Maybe also considering the success rate of each element, stamina requirement, etc. I am sure the program is not just adding up the base value and maximum GOE .
