  1. That may be true, 4Lo takeoff is certainly harder in this way, but I am just amazed at his tenacity and bravery.
  2. I hoped/thought he would have changed to 4Lo after the injury yesterday to aim for a medel. But I feel ashamed now. Yuzu is brave. He gave it all and rotated the best 4A out there. Whatever Yuzu decides to do in the future, I will support him wholeheartedly.
  3. Yuzu you have done nothing wrong to have this bad luck. Don't ever think that way. Nothing will take away what Yuzu has achieved in figure skating. I am only grateful that he is still seemingly healthy. I will continue to pray for his health and safety tomorrow. That is all that matters to me.
  4. This is my favorite rivalry. Maybe the media can hype it up more if they are in desperate need of one.
  5. I hope that everything is according to Yuzu's plan, and after 4 days, we will be able to laugh about his trolling, like the 1st practice in PC. The anxiety level is unreal. Please be safe Yuzu
  6. I know we are used to Hanyuconomy already, but it is kind of insane if you think about it. I can't imagine my rink has overseas orders of their gloves and socks. But as a fanyu, I will continue to order Irene gloves even though I already have like 6 or 7 pairs.
  7. Jump progress is certainly not linear. Sometimes you go around in circles and think that you have reached the limit already, but then on the next day, everything just clicks and you make a huge improvement. I have no idea how the 4A will be at the Olympics, but I believe in Yuzu and will continue to support him and his dream.
  8. I have several friends asking me about Yuzu and 4A recently LOL. They are not FS fans or Japanese but the news of Yuzu in JNats and the 4A is all over their social media. To explain how crazy the 4A is, I showed them Yuzu's 4A attempts and my own super tiny 1A that barely leaves the ice lol.
  9. Maybe it is just me... I like white LMEY costume with Rondo Capriccioso more than the light blue costume. It makes him look like a chaotic piano genius.
  10. Finally I am calm enough to leave a coherent comment. What a rollar coaster of the week. 1. Puzzled by the decision of including a jump he has never landed but believed in him 2. Witnessing the 4A (not clean but a million times improved) landed 3. Watching the best SP ever (never thought I would see anything better than Chopin, but here it is, apart from the custome... sorry Yuzu, black and red would be more fitting imo) 4. Watching him standing up after the 4A and nailing everything else in FP. Totally understanding why he put it in and overjoyed that stamina after 4A is not an issue. 5. Heartbroken and worried when reading his health problems in Nov, but relieved that he is happy and healthy now.
  11. Happy Birthday Yuzu Wish You Happiness and Good Health Always .
  12. Agree. PB and world ranking are part of the selection criteria. Nobody is stopping the other skaters from skating well and earning a high PB. Unless any skater other than Yuma/Shoma wins JNats or they score higher than Yuzu/Yuma/Shoma's normal range, I think Yuzu will be chosen. As of now, the normal range of the top 3 and the others' barely overlap (though I do enjoy Kazuki's skating). Whether Yuzu wants to go is another question. Though I do see how this decision may be harder than the 2018 one if he doesn't go into any competitions before OG, and he will be under even more pressure and scrutiny if he is sent. Anyway, OG or not, I will continue to pray for Yuzu's health and support his decision.
  13. I really love how smooth Yuzu's combos are. Many skaters need some time to reset their arms and position to jump another toe loop (including myself lol). But with Yuzu, the preparation of the 2nd jump is already included in the 1st landing and so it doesn't disrupt the flow of the combo.
  14. In the period when the technical level rises crazily. When Yuzu graduated from junior to senior, the newly crowned Olympic champion won with triples only. Then we saw the jump advancement year by year, we saw rivals appeared and faded out, but Yuzu is always up there. He has never stopped challenging himself to new heights because of how much he loves figure skating.
  15. A while ago I was chatting with another Yuzu fan, I said that I didn't care about scores or placements anymore, I was just grateful that he was healthy and hoped that he could achieve his dreams. Now this... I am devastated... I can't even imagine how he is feeling now. Just want to send all the positive vibes and good luck in the world to him and pray for his recovery. Going to Olympics isn't that important to him as in 2018 (based on the interviews). He can take all the time he wants to rest the ankle and challenge the boundary again. We will always support you and your dreams.
  16. All of them are great, but I vote for Hana ni nare . I can't resist when Yuzu gently touches his face .
  17. When I was in 2019 NHK, there was a booth selling skates. They showed a black Edea Piano in size 265 and said that it was exactly the same as Yuzu's skate. I was shocked as I wear white Piano in 265 too and I am a girl... I am around 170 though
  18. So beautiful LMEY looks like a little devil with wings
  19. Yuzu's interview on his studies makes me feel ashamed for procrastinating on my papers I wish I had 10% of his discipline and determination
  20. Sorry for my English but I'd like to share my own personal experience. I don't like it when people say a person "acts like a woman/man". Some of my male colleagues like telling me that I "think like a man despite being a woman because I am independent, rational and good at maths". They talk about how women think and behave irrationally. When I disagree, they say that I act like a man so I don't count. However, when I don't do something well enough, they "comfort" me by saying that "it is normal for women to lack confidence". They don't see themselves as misogynists as women have the same salary level and promotion opportunities as men (as far as I know), but this kind of microaggression is frustrating. It may be true that statistically, men prefer certain things while women prefer the others, which leads to terms like "feminine/masculine", but there isn't any "standard of men's or women's behaviours". You don't have to "follow the standard" to be a "true man/woman". All male skaters "skate like men" because they are men. When they show bravery and mental toughness, it is not because they are men, just because they are brave and mentally tough.
  21. Yuzu's love for figure skating and performing is what makes him special for me. If you are not convinced by your own art, you won't be able to convince the others. If you are too preoccupied with stereotypes to express yourself, it'll be hard to create a masterpiece.
  22. As a Japanese learner, I want to ask what the problem of Yuzu's sentence/pronunciation is? Why is he laughing so cutely? This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  23. I won't be surprised if Yuzu gives advice on the Lutz before Kao asks, like how he gave advice on acne after Kao asking on Twitter. We know he lurks.
  24. Pre Yuzu: A super casual figure skating fan who didn't know any competitions except the Olympics and only liked Yuna Kim's skating. Couldn't tell any elements apart and didn't watch after (or even?) 2014. Around 2018: Decided to learn figure skating, which was my childhood dream. Wanted to learn more about it and noticed that the Olympics had just happened. Stumbled into Seimei and fell right into the rabbit hole. Post Yuzu: Became super motivated in following competitions as well as in my own figure skating progress. Learnt the judging system and started to appreciate many skaters from all disciplines. Travelled to overseas figure skating competitions (in the good old pre-Covid days ). When I broke my ankle, his come-back stories inspired me during the rehab and helped me return to ice. His 4A quest motivated me to land some (super ugly) 1A. He restored my faith in humanity. Motivated my Japanese learning and led to my plan to work in Japan. Became more grateful to everything around me. P.S. To be honest, I have never been interested in something for a long time if I don't know how to do it at least at a basic level. I don't know if I would be such a dedicated fan for 3 years if I didn't skate. So I was surprised when I realized that many fans don't skate. I guess that it takes some hard work to understand the technical side of skating especially for non-skaters?
  25. Just curious. Has anyone compiled a list of photobooks/books of Yuzu and him being on magazine covers? It'll be a great picture if someone puts all the covers together. I only buy 100%Yuzu books and they have already occupied a significant part of my bookshelf.
