  1. Men's SP starts at 12:15 KST (that's the 13th but 8:15 tonight for me) and the long is on the 14th at 4:19 (odd time)KST. Again, makes it a little after midnight Saturday night for me.
  2. Don't you think that if he did, he'd still be donating the royalties? If not to the rink, then to reconstruction.
  3. Thanks. FYI: you can't actually read the full WSJ article without a subscription (which has annoyed me on multiple occasions).
  4. Quakes all around the "ring of fire" lately - Japan, New Zealand, California, even Iceland....
  5. This was tweeted out today and has a special 10th anniversary on demand showing of four documentaries that look really good - becoming available as of the 11th. https://www.jffla.org/?fbclid=PAAaZV89oXFwamnVzm4-v10i1cauCnu5jM-F81lETj0DD0zczHK59qvbaRPJY_aem_ASx-UsFobxqf8lWDTMWY-oSsmp38c3OkPa9jSy4KraF6zCBf5vxL5UoooZHYqxDe6IkE4uRYYYDpQlfvjA1Ld6vqxw-fBz4BX-gvrbevp7hrAw
  6. As Mr. Rogers said "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." I have read that in any big catastrophic event you will find three kinds of people: the people who look for every chance to take advantage of others, the people who are paralyzed by the trauma, and the people who step up and do whatever they can to help. Most people are in the 2nd and 3rd category. I do not understand hate, especially for complete strangers in need. That's crazy to me. Be part of the light.
  7. Yup - PW. Not as clean as Yuzu, but fun
  8. I don't know how anyone can look at these and not cry. And understand, a tiny bit, just how traumatic this event was for everyone, including our guy, who was just a boy at the time.
  9. I don't know how others feel about this, but I think it's a lovely idea and one that Yuzu would smile about (even though he won't be receiving a shower of Poohs which gives him pleasure on so many levels, including being able to give them away.) I also don't know how you'd go about it, if you are the one wanting to organize it. Maybe there is a way to GoFundMe such a thing but I've never used that so don't know rules and regulations. And there maybe a Swedish fan on the Planet who would know of a hospital that could benefit from this. (For me, I'd like to see it be the donation of hundreds of Poohs, but I suppose there might be greater needs.)
  10. I am totally into the anxiety and panic part.
  11. I couldn't believe how quiet it was in that rink. Must be tough getting your energy up in that big silence. I am pleased that he hasn't really lost any skills, but he seemed a bit sluggish (maybe the quiet?). God, I hope he gets back to TCC by summer.
  12. If they are starting this shoot during the summer, it is highly unlikely that it will be out by the Olympics, unless it's short. Most films, at least here, can take 1-10 months of shooting (generally 6-10 depending, again, on the length and production demands, such as location shooting, actor availability, etc.). Then there is post-production and that can take even longer, again depending on the demands of the director and if there is a clear release date. Maybe they will try to have it out for Oly and that would be great, but editing and sound and ADR take longer than actual shooting. My son is editing a film right now that took less than 6 weeks to shoot starting in December and it's a couple of months away from any possible release.
  13. Does Japan have anti-stalking laws? A repeat offender in the states would definitely be arrested.
  14. Did Australia cancel or ISU? It's probably too late anyway, but it's as if they're trying to get people sick.
  15. Posting this all over - if the ISU is really interested in having Worlds and having it be safe, they could move it, right now, to Australia. They just hosted the Australian Open Tennis Tournament (with players from multiple countries). They even had spectators. A 14-day quarantine is enforced. Why Sweden? Move it someplace safe.
  16. Cynicism totally warranted. I think a dance team just withdrew. And at east one of their top men. I'm pretty sure that Evgenia (not that she's in the team) will never be able to compete again. And Anna Kostornaia is seriously ill. And she's #1 in the world. I believe that the RusFed thinks of all their skaters as disposable and interchangeable. The only positive that I can think of the ISU catering to the Russians is that they are somehow favoring them (as opposed to favoring the Americans i.e. NC) so maybe Yuzu will get some fair scoring. Sweden is currently have BIG spikes in their numbers and may have to re-think Worlds, but that presumes they were thinking at all. If Yuzu goes, I would put money on him keeping a massive distance between himself and any of the Russians.
  17. Yes - the announcement did say it would be open to the public starting today.
  18. Is there some reason you are on this forum? Your comments are both unwarranted and unwanted here.
  19. Ok - this is not really "general" but for all of us worried about Yuzu's health should he travel to Sweden with those infected Russians, here are a few tweets with info ALL of us who are on twitter. It late be too late to impact anything but maybe an adequate quarantine will be set up. If anyone wants to pursue this (like me),I suppose I'd concentrate on Kose and Citizen, since they also sponsor Yuzu. https://mail.yahoo.com/d/folders/1/messages/ALmtLYwAzgRAYC_PowqqeB8SSWc?.intl=uk&.lang=en-GB This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  20. It costs almost as much to ship FYI
  21. Worlds related for everyone who wants it cancelled - this is a tweet with all the official sponsors shown. Maybe appealing directly to them (especially those who also sponsor Yuzu) will help have some impact. Another Russian skater has just withdrawn because he is "ill", though it doesn't say with what.
  22. He has muscles in his ears. It's interesting to see the reality of his muscular legs (in those few pictures out there with him in shorts - even his knee caps have muscles) but his (usually) black skating pants (leggings) draw a smooth line that may hide all that musculature but are far more aesthetically pleasing. (And I suddenly really want a chocolate eclair.)
  23. Follow this thread for scheduling and skate order for Korean Nationals. I'm hoping the men's practices and competitions are livestreamed. (And you have to click on, pull up the tweet to get all the scheduling, etc..)
  24. Yes, I think he knew. And when he heard Yuzu's score, it was absolute. He almost looks like he has tears in his eyes. How disrespectful for the Russians to sit while everyone else, the other teams, gave Yuzu a standing ovation. He loves the sport and, I'm sure, really looking forward to a head to head competition with the boy he knew would be his successor. If he hadn't had the number of injuries and extended times away from competition, he may well have been able to win at Sochi. I'm, of course, thrilled he didn't, but it's also encouraging to know that a 29 year old, if fit, could win. Yuzu, at 27, can be his own record setter with a third gold. He won't be too old. He'll just be stronger.
