Team Korea
If we have an actual Koreans on this thread, I'd like to know what is the proper way to address the head of company in a letter. For instance, if I'm writing the head of Samsung, would I just start it off with "Dear Mr. Lee Kun-hee," or "Dear Mr. Lee"? Is "Dear" even the proper way to begin a formal letter? Thanks.....

Wow - I am stunned at just how wrong you are. All great athletes have great coaches. Period. Yuzu would have done well, because he is driven and phenomenally gifted, but without the correct coach, he wouldn't have been able to rise as he did. He went to TCC to work on quads - so he knew he needed that coaching to achieve the best quads. And comparing Brian Orser to Johnny Weir? Are you kidding? Not only is JW not a coach, his attitude is mercurial and self-serving. Just, wow.

I believe Brian Orser - why would he not speak the truth? There are a good number of seemingly conflicting reasons for any decision made about Yuzu's return to TCC. And they are all moot, at this point. Until there is possible travel allowed into Canada, any comment of Yuzu's plans are purely speculation. I, personally, hope he does get back to Toronto because I think it will be beneficial to Yuzu - but also because it would mean my chances of seeing him skate live again shoot up. Brian and Ghislain and Tracy have been nothing but supportive of Yuzu. They will continue to do what they can to insure his success (which may mean securing rink time just for him) and his health.

Pudding is just generic for the sweet course at the end of the meal. It can be anything; not necessarily what we know as "pudding". It's just the final course, and started to be, basically, sweet by the end of the 1700's (when meat ceased being the primary ingredient). Custard has a different history, though I certainly consider it pudding.

I, for one, would love to become a little Canadian. Did anyone say something similar about Javi? Or Jun? Brian is a coach, not a dictator. He respects his skaters and allows them the freedom to make their own choices (which, when I think about it, is kind of Canadian).

Do try to find some way to watch other than streaming ISU. I don't want them to think I support them holding competitions of ay kind in virus-stricken countries in the middle of a pandemic. I'd rather pay iSakura.

Well, I'm really happy to see Jun on that list - as #4. Love that boy.

It's possible, even though the China Fed says all their athletes were vaccinated prior to Worlds (and I don't doubt that, per se) but possibly just before they flew. Perhaps one of them got Covid (which you can get, even if vaccinated - you just are not going to die) and the entire team is playing it safe especially with Covid conditions in Osaka.

Lacks speed? What? You don't think Nathan's SP was overscored? Go back and watch it again.

Any 2022 Olympics boycott is going to depend on what happens with how things go down in Hong Kong - probably more so than the human rights issues regarding the Uyghur. Hong Kong, any moves on Taiwan, more moves in the So China Sea and religious genocide. Hong Kong is far more important to the Biden administration than it was 4 months ago. I don't know what other countries might boycott purely on the destruction of democracy in Hong Kong - certainly not Russia - but it is a very real possibility.

He does more than just "not hurt" a fly. Yuzu has done an amazing amount of work and dedicated royalties from books, etc., and sales of his stuff to the reconstruction from the earthquake of 3/11. He donates enormously in both time and money. He is generous and a bright light.

Nathan Chen is athletic and has good, if stiff, jumps. But that's not reason he beats Yuzu. It's the biased scoring. Pure and simple.

Not done- I don't think they've ever changed the location of the games, but for the 1980 Olympics in Moscow, The US did boycott and didn't sent a team.

In a translation of Yuzu's comments to Sponichi News - "My mistakes were not as huge as the points I lost" being the first time I've read him saying what the rest of us have been saying for years. He isn't saying it in so many words but he does know he's chronically underscored.

There is also plenty of talk here that the US will boycott them.
