There is also plenty of talk here that the US will boycott them.
-
No half hoping ! Full hope that he in in Toronto before September and at ACI!!!!!!
-
Yuzu won't mess with ISU. He's destined to mentor younger skaters and then become Prime Minister of Japan. Also - there is speculation that the US will boycott the Beijing Olympics because of the massive human rights abuses (the Uyghurs) and their horrific destruction of Hong Kong's independence and democracy while threatening Taiwan. And incursions into the So China Sea. Wouldn't it be something (and really sad for the athletes) of we did boycott?

Was he standing right next to us or what? I could have shot this from where I was (though I do see me for a mili-second, so I didn't shoot this - just saying.)
-
Wow.
-
I love this -

Are you surprised? He who skates the 3A like no one else can't even get a 4.0 GOE from these biased judges.

WRONG LINK - sorry - it's this https://twitter.com/bebesho17/status/1374414126970118162?s=19

Can anything be better that Japanese television promoting Jun with BTS as the music? https://www.instagram.com/p/CMy5jnMJoMe/

Does anyone know if there has been confirmation that Jun is in Stockholm???? I have seen zero updates on him.
-
Shoma may have arrived at a separate time, and likely from Switzerland. (He sent Emma "back" to Japan last week.) And I hope Yuzu can avoid the press at the airport altogether.

The earthquake in Feb was an aftershock of 3/11. Aftershocks from a quake the size of 3/11 will continue to occur for decades.

ANA has probably cancelled direct flights to lots of places over the past year (as have most major airlines) but I am hoping they make some sort of accommodation for Worlds - for Yuzu and all the other skaters flying from Japan. Having to switch flights in different airports would just add exhaustion and the chance of being exposed to the virus. ANA has a special relationship with Yuzu and I hope they do this for him.

Who could not like him? He's brilliant and generous. What's not to like?

No way on the 4A. He hasn't even seen his jump coach in person for over a year. Ghislain would have a heart attack. And no matter how mellow the music is, he's going to be tired at the end of his skate. The 4A will take a lot of energy. I don't want him hurt. He doesn't want another injury. Better to wait until he's had time to train in Toronto for a number of months and he can spring it on is next season.

This is hilarious.

I wish they'd have moved Worlds to Australia - they'd have insisted on proper Covid protocols- and maybe we could use all Aussie judges.

The Greatest Skater ever.

I don't know if Keegan will have to quarantine for two weeks as he is likely to have his full vaccinations - everyone in Alaska over the age of 16 can get their shots. I also cannot see WTT going ahead, not in Japan. Their vaccination program is lagging and their key sporting goal is to have the Summer Olympics. If they allow WTT, there will be the chance of a super spreader event and that would essentially kill any chance of the Olympics, at least as far as spectators are concerned. "Visa free travel.... remains suspended.". Japan doesn't seem to have created some special loophole for athletes traveling to a competition as Sweden has done. Also, with the experience the Japanese have recently had members of their fencing team infected while at a competition in Hungary (as have other countries...), I just can't see them willing to risk the same result by hosting WTT this year.

Sorry/not sorry, I understand that it was not "sportsmanlike" to write what I did, but I was likely putting into words what so many of us are thinking in our heads. I will not make any more comments about this or NC or falling or Worlds or probably anything else on this thread for a while. If you or the admins had an issue, perhaps a DM rather than a public shaming would have been a better, kinder way.
-
You bolded statements of mine that I DID NOT BOLD. You edited MY comment. And I sure didn't say I hope he gets injured. Why would I want any athlete to get an injury? Yes, I hope he is unable to get inflated, overinflated scores. If that means he does what almost every other skater has done in competition, including Yuzu - and it's cost him Gold, i.e. fall. I do not want any athlete, or anyone for that matter, injured. Or for them to get sick at this competition. I don't dislike NC - I just hate seeing him getting overscored. And I'm not worried about Karma. I've had multiple serious falls and a lifetime of broken bones, rods, pins, screws and chronic pain. Clearly, I would never wish that on anyone.

Where the skaters place in Worlds can open up additional "spots" for the Olympic teams. For instance, Keegan is the only Canadian male to be able to go to Worlds because they have only one "spot" there but if he places high enough, he can open up additional spots for other skaters for the Olympics.
-
Let's just hope he skates beautifully, is fairly scored and doesn't get injured. [admin edit: be respectful] I doubt he'll try a 4A. He hasn't actually trained with his jump coach, in person, in a year.

He collects earbuds.

Jun is qualified and the KSU did send his name as attending, or entered, I guess. There's still a question if the KSU will allow him to travel. Ekatarina was going to make her senior debut at last year's Worlds and is qualified, and she's training, so maybe?
