  1. Purple Origin is gorgeous - and I hope you get to see him live at least once just to see that he is real. And fast. And my favorite costume isn't a costume at all, but his black practice gear. Nothing to distract the eye - just pure Yuzu.
  2. I think it's safe to say, and not remotely negative, that Yuzu has long had affection, or something similar, for Shoma. Shoma was about half his height the first time they really skated together. And Shoma notoriously would fall asleep or look like he was asleep at press cons. Yuzu looked after him like an older brother would (a good older brother -I've had both kinds myself). Siblings have rivalries and their rivalry has been more a friendly one than an adversarial one. And there is a mutual admiration. While Yuzu certainly would have preferred taking the #1 spot at Japan Nationals in the 19-20 season, I truly believe he was genuinely happy For Shome.
  3. That poem is lovely. And the JSF and that article make me wonder, aside from the the north, the whole "he's from Sendai" thing, and that he seemed to have usurped Daisuke against the JSF wishes, what is the Japanese ideal and how is it not Yuzu? He is not short, he is lean and handsome and selfless and kind. He's the best ever at what he does and brought an enormous amount of attention to Japan. And then there's the Yuzu-economy. It all makes me want to shake the JSF, as if it was an animate object I could shake, and knock some sense into it before they lose the best thing that has ever happened to Japanese figure skating.
  4. Yuzu has never complained - ever - or made an "excuse" for an issue during a skate. The closest he's ever come to saying anything negative about scoring is his mention of this being different than it once was, which is true, but hardly blasting the ISU as I do. And has always taken responsibility for anything that hasn't been perfect in his programs. He will be disappointed in himself, kuyashii, for mistakes. He didn't even blame the hole in the ice for his failed jump in the SP - he merely mentioned that there was one and that's what tripped him up. Javi knows this about him and I think that is what I find most disappointing in his remarks.
  5. Eight minutes of Jun arriving at Incheon - https://www.instagram.com/p/CZ68El4o53A/
  6. Yes, another Jun post. Evidently, he was interviewed for two hours but I've only seen the post and can't get the YouTube (no matter what country I seem to put computer in. BUt if anyone finds that with sibs, it would be great -
  7. And an even cuter Jun - with Eng subs
  8. I haven't travelled back in time on this thread so don't know if anyone posted the translation of the full Javi interview about Yuzu (sorry of this is a repeat). This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  9. Jun posted a thank you on Instagram - you have to cut and paste it. https://www.instagram.com/p/CZ1lsnDPiFG/
  10. I was asked to post this - you have to cut and paste- it's Tracy and Brian with Jun and Jason https://www.instagram.com/p/CZ12DmoOjcG/
  11. You could post this on the Team Korea page, too, but I want to thank you for the Jun stuff (Yuzu, too, of course, but Jun-focused content is hard to locate - I hadn't even thought of posting his name in Hangul to find anything, but good idea.) And FYI: the videos are not available in the US, so I can take my computer to another country to watch them - it's an NBC thing, They don't want anyone in the states watching anything figure skating if it's not through them.
  12. While I'm freaking out waiting to see how Yuzu really is doing and hoping for the best, I am trying to think that if he can't do the 4A here and he's injured enough that he can't go to Worlds, perhaps he will go back to TCC and train for the 2022-2023 season, just so he can do his 4A in competition and win the GP and get his World championship back (this is all if he can't get it this year -). He's 27 and otherwise very very fit. There's no reason he can't fulfill his dream.
  13. One of the other skiers had a horrific crash and received a compound fracture of her tibia and fibula two days ago. That snow is cursed. (She's already back in the states for surgery-)
  14. While we are waiting to see Jun (and the rest of the team) in events next week, someone posted a tweet today with a YouTube link for all of Jun's skates and interviews. It is not just a few videos - very thorough.
  15. How is he taller? His true height must have been underestimated in previous reports, because a male does not get taller in their mid-20's.
  16. Brian is in Seoul with Jun and will travel to Beijing with the Korean team- I guess they are also traveling with the speed skating team.
  17. They wrote me back - and clearly don't care to even look. Dear Barbara, Thank you for contacting the IOC. International Skating Union (ISU) is responsible for selecting the judges of the figure skating competitions. Please refer to the following document for more information (point # 7). https://isu.org/docman-documents-links-2/2022-beijing/qualification-systems-3/22994-figure-skating-v1-0/file Kind regards from the support team at Olympics.
  18. I'll go ahead and send another message regarding the general scoring insanity - but, hey, we are Fanyus. Of course we will complain about how they are treating Yuzu. Indeed, they are not "shorting" the accomplishments of other skaters. Just Yuzu. They should be made aware that they are noticed. (Also, I doubt any complaint regarding the judging - and the panel for Men's is particularly troublesome - will move the needle. And I doubt they will notice that it's the same person complaining about scoring and their continued behavior towards Yuzu.)
  19. This is my response: Thank you for your email and your interest in the Olympics. This is an auto-reply email to acknowledge your request. We will get back to you with a (human) response as soon as possible. You may find the response to your question in our FAQ section. If you have any additional information that you think will help us to assist you, please reply to this email. Kind regards from the support team at Olympics. Please note that we do not respond to opinions or business proposals.
  20. I wrote and suggested they look at Wikipedia - such an anti-Yuzu bias. (They'd have seen that Keegan has a son, not a daughter, on Wikipedia.) I, too, wonder where this came from after they've even been using him for promotional purposes. (And I can'r even read any of the press on these Olympics, it's all NC.
  21. I think this is the only forum I could post this on. I feel very sad for Mikhail Kolyada - he must be heartbroken. So many Russians have gotten Covid and flaunted safety protocols. Others in the Russian training rink where Misha trains at are also testing positive. While I am sad for him, my almost instantaneous reaction to that news was "Thank God the Russians couldn't compete at 4CC." Jun will not have been exposed to any of them. None of the four on Team Korea will have been anywhere near a Russian skater for months. I am grateful for that.
  22. Javi commenting on Jun in 2018. (Also Yuzu but that clip hadn't been on the thread I copied, so bonus!)
  23. There are anti-TCC people posting negative comments about Jun and his score on the 4CC Men's SP thread saying he didn't deserve the score he got and saying it's only because Brian is his coach. It really distresses me that people can be so negative when Jun has overcome so many obstacles the past two years and worked so hard. And skated so beautifully.
