How on Earth does he think he wasted our wishes? Yuzuru has never, ever made me regret supporting him, for even a second. On the contrary. The courage it has taken him to publically strive for his goal, for so long, and then bring that fight to the world’s biggest stage, is breathtaking. I hope that somehow, he realizes what an admirable, amazing thing he’s done. I don’t expect it to be right away. But hopefully with time, it’ll come. Take the time you need to rest, recover, and do any soul searching you may need to do, Yuzu. We’ll be here if you decide to carry on the fight.

I'm actually glad I have work today (although I'll admit I didn't sleep well at all last night). Gives me something else to focus on, a way to feel useful. I am so glad that Yuzuru, at least publically, seems to be taking the popped jump in stride. He's got a very mature view on things. If there's nothing he could have done better, then there's no sense beating himself up over the outcome. Hearing his take on yesterday's events is comforting. Amazing that we're still drawing strength from him even during this low point on the rollercoaster. Also glad to have supportive coworkers. Yesterday afternoon, I showed her a clip of Yuzu in practice and she said "he glides like an angel." This morning I've had two of them ask if I was okay after seeing the results. Edit: I also highly recommend watching H&L from Helsinki. It helps to remember that his finest free skate of all time was done when his back was against the wall.

Oh, we're just joking. These are just swim trunks (like shorts that men swim in) with Yuzu's face awkwardly screen-printed across the front. Sadly, nobody outside of the skating world in the US has even heard of Yuzu before.

A quick Amazon search will show you (very, very unofficial) Yuzu swim trunks available in both Seimei and R&J 2.0. I guess you could sleep in those when it warms up?

I'd hope he can get a comp in before Nationals, even if it's just something like a Senior B. As for watered-down content, yeah, he's done it before when injured. But not medaling? No offense to the other skaters there, but this isn't a championship. I'd be shocked if a clean Yuzu with easier tech content didn't still win in that field.

The issue with doing a quint isn’t that it would have to be announced ahead of time - remember Javi’s last Euros where he didn’t submit any planned program content ahead of time? The problem is that there is no base value assigned to quint jumps in the current judging system, so there’s just no way to assign one a score. IIRC, Shoma said once in an interview that the ISU said they’d consider assigning values for quints if someone sent them a video of a clean one done off harness.
