I'm talking about the commentators. Regardless of the outcome, I still don't want them to miscalculate under rotations during the replays, if the singing disrupts that process. It just looks bad on the fans, if one of the commentators end up mentioning the disruption during or after the competition. As for the technical panel, that is a whole another topic which I don't want to get into in depth, because the discussion will be too long.

I said it's not about Yuzu liking attention. It's about what Yuzu thinks about how the next skater after him will feel uncomfortable with the singing whilst he is warming up. Can we please all just consider one more important thing? This might not just be about only Yuzu. 5 other skaters skating right after Yuzu may or may not like the crowd singing HPB whilst he is warming up after Yuzu This whole thing came up in consideration of other skaters. What if that skater comes up to Yuzu after the competition to tell his fans to stop doing that next time? I only have 1 problem: Singing during Kiss and Cry, singing during 6 min warmup. If yall want to sing during victory ceremony (only if Yuzu wins) or during gala after his performance or after open practice, that's fine. Just not during the live competition.

I said the crowd singing will disrupt the commentators analyzing under rotations during the replay. Not the broadcast. If you read my previous post, I said commentators have to count Under rotations during the replay so they need to be focused. I said don't sing during the broadcast, because I don't want the commentators being distracted. I never mentioned what sound would be broadcasted. Plus, just the whole singing during competition is a big "meiwaku" to other skaters.

Yeah he does say things but sometimes he doesn't. When his management asked to delete the photo with Johnny Weir with the flower crown, Jp fans were angry at Weir for making an instagram post about it, and also angry at english twitter for making a big deal out of it. They prefer things to remain quiet because they just trust Yuzu's decisions without questioning the reason why he had to delete the photo. Whatever the reason was, Yuzu wanted the photo deleted. For Jp fans, the reason doesn't matter as long as it is what Yuzu wants. Off the topic, I agree it should be done after practice if it is a song, and not during Kiss and Cry. Not during live competition broadcast hours.

I think he's more Japanese than he is not. Yes, he is outspoken, but remember how he always openly praises how much he loves Japan and their culture so much and that he is proud to be Japanese etc. He also acts very Japanese on camera. Also I heard being outspoken is the new generation kind of thing, more than the Japanese culture thing. The newer younger kids are more outspoken, open.

I agree. It's what I've been trying to say. Their opinions "count" as in, let's listen to them because they understand Yuzu without any translation. But we can't regulate everything to what every JP fan says. We can listen attentively to what they say collectively though. As for the banner, I agree, a birthday banner will be less disruptive than a birthday song.

I'm only refering to blue cosmos because she is a trusted fanyu among the jp twitter. Regarding what they like or not, I wrote before that it makes sense they know him better because there is no language and cultural barrier between them and Yuzu. Even in interviews, things get lost in translation... Their opinions count because they've know Yuzu for longer, without any language and cultural misunderstanding between them.

The issue of HPB song is not about standing out. It's about the possibility of distracting the next skater warming up during kiss and cry. Yuzu wants to stand out but is equally sensitive to how the next skater feels. Their discomfort is the same as his discomfort. That's why he always makes gestures to the crowd to calm down for the next skater during kiss and cry. He did this for Nam at Skate Canada after his free skate. And Yuzu is the type of japanese that is more closer with Oda Nobunari (such as Oda revealing on TV they go out privately to eat meals together during Ice Show season. Oda also revealed Yuzu and Kanako are in a group chat on Line. He's also revealed they talk in private and reveal what type of girls they like etc. So those 2 skaters keep in touch with Yuzu privately and seem close in private) But Yuzu is not privately close to Javi (Javi did reveal in an interview he repeatedly invited Yuzu out but never even had a meal with him outside. You can find Javi's interview about this during post Sochi ~ PC olympics. It was an interview about how Javi revealed he's never been to Yuzu's apartment and that Yuzu doesn't hang out in Toronto). It seems Yuzu feels more privately intimate, close with his Japanese skaters moreso than his foreign training mates. Because when you are close with someone, you go out and eat meals with your friends, or contact each other in private and reveal little details about what you like etc. The fact that Yuzu does this with Japanese skaters and not with his foreign training mates, does seem to hint that he is more comfortable and intimate with Japanese people and their culture.

I've seen many cases where Japanese fanyus dislike the behavior of the foreign fanyu base. Everything from criticizing how they ship yuzu with javi when javi already was dating ando and even now that he has a spanish girlfriend, to how russian fans shipped him with zhenya, to the HPB song, to how not to behave during ACI, to not give flower crowns to yuzu during victory ceremony, to critcising johnny weir for sharing a pic with Yuzu in a flower crown, to this, to that. It did gave me a sense of feeling that some japanese fans do feel a sense of entitlement to Yuzu. And yes he is their skater. It makes sense they know him best, because they have no language barrier. But the policing of Fanyus mostly come from the japanese fandom. I've seen many japanese fanyus clash with the english fandom because of this policing over time. And if there is one thing I learnt, is that the Japanese fandom are more sensitive, careful and cautious. It does seem overly done from a foreigner's perspective, but then again, Yuzu IS japanese, so what the majority of the japanese fandom believes who Yuzu is and what he likes and dislikes is probably more closer to the reality of who Yuzu is than what the foreign fandom thinks.

I don't mind singing it after practice either, but big jp fanyu accounts like blue cosmos just retweeted this.... Apparently japanese fans didn't like it sung even after practice.

I saw japanese fans translating the original tweet that started all this. They were mortified at the possibility of singing during Kiss and Cry. If it is sung during Kiss and Cry, we can't hear the commentators analyze Yuzu's jumps and spins in the replay. The commentators themselves have to be focused during the replays to see whether there were any under rotatations. It's harder for commentators all around the world to stay focused during replays if they notice the whole crowd is singing. The HPB sing a long during Kiss and Cry has never been done for any discipline. Not pairs, not ice dance, not ladies - and for good reason. A competition is not a fan party. And this is GPF, the competition Yuzu has been waiting 3 years to compete him. And seeing as how Yuzu wanted his fans to wrap poohs in plastic bags, Yuzu cares more about how his next skater might feel than how Yuzu himself feels. And Yuzu apparently also apologized to the next skater during 2018 ACI because people threw poohs. This year, hardly any fan threw poohs at ACI because of what he did last year. Also remember how Yuzu was busy to pick up poohs during 2018 ACI after he skated? He wanted the ice cleared faster for the next skater. That's how much he cares when there are rules to follow And also remember he told a fan to be quiet with his gestures during 2018 ACI, right after he skated? Because a fan started screaming too loud after he skated. He is very sensitive to how the next skater might be feeling.. So please don't do it during kiss and cry. It will make bad press for the japanese media.

I agree. Japanese fans on twitter were worried we might cause "meiwaku" (disturbance) to Yuzu and other skaters, and what's worse is that competitions are broadcasted live to the whole world. If his reaction is bad, the whole world would have a recorded video tape of what fanyus did wrong at a live competition. And if we are really unlucky, we might have the media writing bad press about the ill mannered fanyus. And knowing Yuzu and his Japanese culture, he would not want other skaters behind him to be disrupted by the happy birthday song during competition. The best time to do it would be before he leaves the ice after open practice. Competitions exist for all skaters. If Nathan's fans started singing happy birthday song whilst Yuzu was warming up on the ice before his music started, I would be furious at Nathan's fans. They would feel the same anger towards us. Likewise.

Any chance of him being nominated for "Comeback of the Year" this year too? He did come back from an injury..? And it was this year so...?
-
If Yuzu wins GPF, will he go back to ISU World Standing No.1? (Not season ranking, the whole accumulated ranking) Do you think Yuzu cares about ISU World ranking, and go to 4CC to maintain or increase his ranking if he is healthy? Also what do you guys think Yuzu will use as his Gala EX for the rest of the season?
-
I hope Yuzu reads this comment and know that although Japanese media expect ridiculous over the top achievements from him all the time, us fans know he is human and he can be weak and he can still just enjoy his performance on the ice. I really don't want the media pressure to choke him or make him feel trapped. I hope him the best and wish him to ignore the jp media when he has to. They are some of the most over hyped figure skating media in the world and they have only escalated in wanting to write the most catchy, eye-catching click bait stories about Yuzu the past 6 years.
-
Jp media pressures Yuzu so much with questions about World Records, Nathan and so on, that I sometimes think it will be impossible for Yuzu to compete for the joy of skating, not because of Yuzu, but because JP media will never be satisfied with Yuzu just enjoying himself on the ice. I really dislike this whole media pressure they force on Yuzu, it's too much. Is it because they watch so much sports anime there that they always have to have an athlete that always wins and breaks records? I hope they just let him breathe and be human and make mistakes and still be okay with it. Why does Yuzu have to be perfect for them? To be honest the level of expectation and pressure they have been exuding these last press conferences at NHK with all those WR related questions was ridiculous and over the top. I'm mad at the judges for underscoring him, but more mad at the JP media for constantly making him feel like some robot that always has to deliver for their entertainment and surprise.
-
LOL they recycled the exact same photo as last year... even with Simone Biles lol Guess their art department got lazy. Not that hard to find Yuzu's recent Skate Canada photos...
-
I love how JP companies are all silent mode when Yuzu hibernates in his cave August ~ September and all out Surprise! We have Yuzu! Mode during GP ~ GPF. It makes my TL hype even more exciting during those active months.

I was shocked it was the 'olympics' account posting this, not olympic channel, because olympics account doesn't post as much Yuzu account as olympic channel and so I thought that new post must be somehow legit.

Whenever I read Yuzu's interviews about his hobbies, he seems like he mostly plays games, reads manga, studies, sometimes reads psychology books, but I've never really heard he watches films for fun. I've never heard him raving about favorite films so I imagine he is more of a gamer than a film buff. Which might be why he chose game soundtracks for EX like the final time traveler, because he gets inspiration from mostly games. I think if Yuzu were to watch more films he might get inspiration to try new film soundtracks, but it seems the last one he really wanted to do was seimei. I would love for him to do another film soundtrack, but I also have a feeling he might do origin for beijing if he goes.

The 12 song yuzu really liked, I researched and it came up at Chopin Fantasie collection Which is probably this one It's the closest song that came up on the search. The songs below are mostly famous JP songs And yes, how nice of him. Wonder if he has time to do that nowadays? Also since he "really liked" 2 songs from Man in the Iron Mask, just curious to know. Anyone know any skater who's skated to Man in the Iron Mask soundtrack before?
-
Something like 12 summer song But I can't find it online. Hmmm. Maybe it's a ryuichi sakamoto song becaise he linked it with the Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence down below. I find it hilarious how he didn't really like The Shire Hobbit song 😂
-
It would be nice for a SP because the melody repetitive in that song. I'm planning to watch Man in the Iron Mask tonight because Yuzu really liked 2 songs from the list.
-
Thank you for the photo. He really likes "Inochi no namae" (from anime movie spirited away) and some pieces from Man in the Iron Mask. And he seems to have mixed feelings for both Ben Hur OST and Lotr OST This is an interesting music choice nonetheless.
-
Oh God 😂😂😂 I can't imagine Yuzu skating to ANY music from LOTR lol. It's not something that he would suit (in my mind at least) My nerdgasm will explode if he did though..
