In the last couple of weeks, I've been watching basically every single one of Yuzu's programs and performances for the 689th or something time. I've now also started to run through all his ice shows again. Is that a symptom of the so-called "dry cactus syndrome" also known as the "missing Yuzu syndrome"?

I wouldn't put it past Yuzu to attempt a triple Axel on those things.

How Yuzu should go to the World Championships. But seriously now, no matter how much I would love to see Yuzu skating again, I wish they would cancel Worlds. It's really too risky considering the present situation.

I agree. I seriously have such a good feeling about Beijing. I've been having this feeling for a while now, but when Yuzu came out of nowhere to the Japanese National and did THAT, it felt to me like a confirmation that he's going for a third Olympic gold medal. And the sheer confidence, presence and maturity that he emanated gave me such a strong feeling that he will likely become the Olympic champion in Beijing. Yuzu seemed to have reached such a stable state of zen. He is a man who has achieved perfect mastery of his craft and is at peace with himself. And the two new programs suit him perfectly. He can express his true self with these programs. This is him in all his glory. And with his experience and mental and emotional strength, it's very likely that be will be the most unfazed in the run-up to the Olympic games.

Yuzu is so naturally, effortlessly beautiful. I feel like we need to invent a new word just to describe his beauty. I was spending the last couple of days at my parents' place and had forgotten the password for Planet Hanyu. So, this is a very belated Happy Merry New Year from me! The past year has been an unusual and difficult one. But just the fact that we got to see Yuzu with two amazing new programs and costumes and in outstanding form gave me a great boost for 2021. I wish you all a better 2021 filled with lots of joy, fun and happiness and - most importantly - good health! The past year has only shown how strong and resilient we are. May we see a happy and content Yuzu more often.
