  1. I'm afraid you're right. The sad truth is that those who are in power are the ones who profit the most from biased, unfair scoring. So, why would they even want anything to change. Fair, unbiased scoring based on AI and technology would take away the power of those who profit the most and thus also take away their profit. They wouldn't want that to happen. If you ask me, it is indeed possible to make even a judged sport fair. Gymnastics used to have a lot of controversial judging and scoring, but after multiple (real) reforms, the system seems to be much fairer. But for this kind of reforms to happen, you need to have enough people in the feds and unions to be willing to do that. This doesn't seem to be the case in figure skating. Quite the opposite. Like I said, those who profit the most from biased scoring in figure skating are usually the ones in power and vice versa. In figure skating, they even refuse to offer the judges slow motion reviews and such. Introducing new technologies and even AI? Laughable! Sadly, judging in figure skating is getting worse and is now as bad or even worse as during the 6.0 system. If it continues like this, the "sport" will lose more and more fans. Especially after Yuzu r******, who will still be willing to shell out thousands of dollars or Euros to watch pre-fixed "competitions" in this joke of a "sport"? I think it's a bit of comfort that this ultimate level of corruption (aka the new GOE system) started after Yuzu had already achieved pretty much all of his own career goals in 2018. Of course he still got and gets disadvantaged and treated unfairly and was severely robbed on multiple occasions, but at least nobody can take away his earlier accomplishments. But I do feel sorry for younger skaters like Rika or Kaori who started their careers years after Yuzu and might never get the medals, placements and recognition they deserve because of this corrupt system.
  2. Woohoo! Thank you so much for your hard work! Your videos are truly a blessing for my eyes and ears. I've never been able to enjoy Yuzu with so much clarity and no disturbances (in the form of commentary).
  3. Seriously, Yuzu just keeps amazing me even off the ice. He's just so wonderful and smart and incredible in every way. Sometimes I really wonder if he's from another planet for real. If he were a fictional character, I'd actually say that the writer needs to make him less perfect to make him more human and relatable. Even a superhero needs to have a few weaknesses and flaws. This is probably why he sucks at swimming, driving and bicycle riding. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  4. I hope they can soon train together again. I think it would do Yuzu good to train with other skaters and to have coaches who can give him advice if necessary. And of course he'd have his doctors/physiotherapists in Canada.
  5. Just shake along while holding your phones. Just imagine what an awesome effect it would be to have a rink full of people moving their lights along with the music.
  6. Has this already been posted? Yuzu's commentary free SP and FP at WTT. I hope someone finds a NC gala performance. I haven't come across one yet. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  7. That would be such a great tradition. And at ice shows too! I can't wait until things are finally back to normal again. I hope that I will get to see Yuzu a couple more times live at competitions and eventually ice shows.
  8. Hello, beautiful! His happy scrunchy smile afterwards! I hope we can uplift and support him with our love and positive energy and be his light too. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  9. Yuzu and his greatest love, Ice-chan. Their love is legendary and the kind of story people write books and compose songs about. Yuzu and Ice-chan have many, many children too. Yuzu refers to them lovingly as his "little ones". They're having another baby, hopefully soon. It's an especially gigantic one. But once it's born, it will be an absolutely gorgeous and magnificent beauty of incomparable awesomeness.
  10. That's why I'm hoping Yuzu will keep it as his short program! It deserves to be performed in front of a roaring crowd! Yuzu's performance got better and better every time despite there being no or only low numbers of spectators who weren't even allowed to scream and cheer. Just imagine the incredible energy he'd unleash when a loud and lively crowd would support him! That would blow up the roof of any ice rink!
  11. Thank you for sharing this! This is amazing! Yuzu has far surpassed the "sport" of figure skating. He's a star all over the world. I'd say in many places interest in him is greater than in figure skating itself. Many people only started to watch figure skating because of him. A few weeks ago I talked to a friend of mine who lives in Luxembourg and we asked each other what we've been up to. I told her that I was watching the figure skating World Championships. Before I could even start talking about Yuzu, she (who is not a skating fan and only heard of Yuzu because of me) told me that she was up to date because friends of hers were sending around links and videos of Yuzu's LMEY performance and talking about how amazing he was. And neither one of them is a skating fan or watched skating before. This is what Yuzu can do. This is his power. Most people know and realize it when they see something amazing that touches them and makes an impression on them. And the only one who can reach and touch people across all borders, languages and cultures is Yuzu.
  12. Yuzu has the most wonderful jumps, but he doesn't even need to jump to entertain us better than anyone. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  13. For us, he is always golden! I think this is Max's reply to Lynn Rutherford after she apparently criticized him for talking too much about Yuzu. Max is truly a man with great taste and integrity. Go, Max!
  14. Make way for His Majesty King Yuzuru! Damn, he looks so regal, graceful and confident just walking by... while wearing his skates...
  15. These numbers are just unbelievable! Yuzu is the goatest of GOATs! I love how Max keeps on pointing out Yuzu's incredible achievements. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  16. Man, Yuzu's accomplishments are just absolutely insane from every angle! A huge "Mille Grazie!" to Max for pointing out Yuzu's GOAT status again and again! This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  17. He's definitely getting his body ready for 4 1/2 rotations. I think this kind of training probably helps him to keep his balance and sense of orientation as well as avoid getting nauseous when doing so many rotations within such a short amount of time.
  18. Yuzu is truly the absolute GOAT! And to think that Yuzu did all this despite being constantly underscored! I have the feeling the more often Yuzu gets unfair treatment, the more often Max points out his superhuman achievements. I'm so glad that there are people in this sport like Max who keep supporting Yuzu openly. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  19. It's not easy being a parent of so many beautiful children full of personality.
  20. It worked! Thank you so much! The new banner is indeed beautiful! I love that you added the quote about him being our light.
  21. It's like that for me too. I'm still seeing the old birthday banner. I logged out and signed in again, but it's still the old banner.
  22. These Punzuru fanarts are so cute!
  23. That's what I'm thinking too. If he'd represent China or Korea (or an even smaller fed), he'd probably get no more than 85 when he skates clean.
  24. Thank you for this summary! I hope Yuzu can achieve his goal and produce the perfect performance that he's striving for. Knowing him, it's not suprising at all that he doesn't just want to jump the 4A and land it. He wants to integrate it into his performance and create something that is not just a figure skating program but a masterpiece that combines athleticism and art in perfection. I'm certain that Yuzu will make his vision come true and look forward to what he will show us yet. I've been rewatching a couple of Yuzu's earlier performances that already won him medals, but it's astonishing how much he's improved in the last couple of years. His skating has reached a level that was absolutely unthinkable before him. He's getting better and better and keeps surpassing himself. I'm so grateful that he keeps on skating and keeps on improving and giving us more of himself and his art and craft. And if, in addition to creating the ultimate masterpiece that a clean H&E with a fully integrated, beautiful 4A will be, he should win his third Olympic gold medal in passing, well, that would be the ultimate strawberry on top.
