  1. I’ve been waiting for this. So insightful. Thank you.
  2. Based on this segment of the translation from EVERY segment, I think Yuzu does mean to return next season. Source: http://hanyusan.tumblr.com/post/181541536917/181228-every-eng-translated-transcript
  3. Happy New Year! Health and happiness to everyone on Planet Hanyu and especially a Golden Year for Yuzu!
  4. Patrick has come a long way. I’m glad he can be objective about Yuzu. Fill article: https://fs-gossips.com/patrick-chan-a-man-cannot-do-badly-what-he-truly-loves/
  5. I think it’s way too early to discuss contenders for Beijing 2022. There are current seniors (Nathan, Shoma, Boyang) and up and coming juniors ( I have my eye on you- Shun Sato from Sendai with the panda tissue box). Looking back at 2014 Sochi, Yuzu was not really considered a contender to Patrick Chan until 2013. Plus who knows about Yuzu. Maybe JSF will let him pull a Plushenko and compete in a couple competitions, get seasons best, qualify for worlds and Olympics? Not that we expect that, but would be nice to see him compete as long as we can even if it’s a couple times a year. We all know, kuyashii- he’ll only do it if he knows he’ll get GOLD- that he can actually smell!
  6. Yuzu explains it himself in this video (which is excellent by the way) at 11:00. All I can say is - it was all part of his calculation.
  7. Would it be bad luck to have a countdown clock to worlds? I know internally we are all feeling it, just not sure if it will make the wait longer to actually see it ticking. Thanks to everyone posting memorable 2018 moments. Agree - an incredible year of highs and lows. A big big thanks to Planet Hanyu to help us through the ups and downs, but more specifically the drought!
  8. I’m really hoping Yuzu is healthy enough for Continues part deux. No jumps needed.
  9. In the second part of the original whole vid, even the announcers were like “ huh? Wait... what?” (0:14) They were ready to commentate the whole practice with Machida. Obviously TrollZu has other plans.
  10. Boyang Nats FS: jumps were all clean i think he did 3quads, 2triple axels, , 2triples TES 110, PCS 94 my guess is super high GOEs, PCS lol. but I really do like his personality, him over some others ... besides Yuzu of course
  11. I’m still hoping the Chinese fed sends Boyang to BOrser at TCC.
  12. I’m looking forward to Origin description as well. Yuzu has so much input I’m interested in the explanation for the feather pattern. Maybe related to continues with wings? Origin -my ultimate favorite-still remember how happy I was at the unveiling at ACI. He’s so poised and the emperor was so taken with his conversation someone had to intervene. When asked how he chose his outfit, paraphrasing- “ whatever fit” LOL- complete opposite on ice.
  13. So many good memories and feels. Looking back at Yuzu’s facial expressions on and and off the ice, his mental strength is amazing. You start to realize the immense pressure he was under when he shows his utter exhaustion, relief, tears at the end of the free and when he realizes he won gold. I’m looking forward to all the end of year content of Yuzuru in the next couple days!
  14. Since it’s on theme, I miss cute and happy Zu. Click if you need a smile today. CuteHappyZu
  15. @BWOZWaltz Thank you for the accurate translation. It did sound odd he was smelling gold. I’m going to agree with @Bilge that Yuzu was able to determine the sweet smell of success.
  16. I can see Yuzu doing a detailed analysis like this with all his skates. ” Where can I get more PCS? Judges don’t like the twizzle entry to 3A, fine, give them back-counter!”
  17. First, he’s the only skater I’ve seen who smells his medals . ACI I can understand, someone said smells like maple syrup... but gold? Second, I can’t understate the fact that only 2 male skaters on this earth can actually have this moment. Yuzu and Dick Buttons.
  18. It has to be more recent because it includes post COR injury.
  19. I didn't think I could be even more impressed by Yuzu but he is truly an academic. I wonder when he is going to graduate from university? This is the English translation of the scientific paper he was studying. 568 an attempt to analyze double axel jump of Figure skating (5.
