"Cha Jun-hwan is the greatest Korean to take to the ice since Kim Yuna" http://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/article/article.aspx?aid=3056877 "Cha is now the nation’s sweetheart on ice" - I know it's a small Fed but I hope his popularity will force them to provide more/better support. I'm impressed by how he is adjusting to his growth spurt. I'd be surprised if he grew any taller. Great potential and only age 20 at 2022 Olympics.

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed the growing stuffed tissue box trend among the Russian ladies (all the leading juniors and seniors). I could only find copyright picture under www.alamy.com, so didn't post. Yuzu is quite the trend setter.

Jun's so cute.

I think this blog post explains pretty well why FS will never be main stream. I totally agree though that the ISU could do much more to make it easier to access content for potential fans and existing fans. https://sportymags.wordpress.com/2018/05/23/fs-why-figure-skating-will-never-be-mainstream-popular/

As an aside... Can I just say, these photos make me realize how hard these athletes have to work to get their final results. Yuzu's athletic form is amazing.
-
Those formats are harder for me to maneuver through, but I think I'll have to learn. Youtube is turning out to be an abusive relationship creating emotional ups and downs.
-
I agree, but I'm taking solace in knowing that it was viewed 3 million times, creating new fans, and hopefully will be uploaded again.

This is my favorite version of H and L 2017 Worlds! Can someone with more video skills then me save this? Put in google drive or something...please!!

The individual event tickets went on sale after the all event passes and they are selling tickets per event , not daily like a lot of the gp events. So there is a separate ticket for men sp and women sp even if it’s on the same day. i thought maybe they were crappy seats too but they were center side and ends available too. Let’s just say, good seats are easy to come by, but there’s still like 6 weeks left and all names not finalized-so hopefully fuller stadium for the skaters.

I have similar experiences. I think it is because we are not only drawn to Yuzu by his performances, but by his entire being. His treatment of his coaches ( the bowing and gratitude) , his generosity to Sendai region and earthquake victims, his respect for his colleagues ( shushing fans when they yell disrespectfully during another’s performance), his SMILE and feeling of genuine love for skating, his appreciation and love for fans —I can go on and on. I and many fanyus see this I think in fanvids, k&c, interviews which is why we appreciate all of him and not just his elite world record setting skating ( which is pretty awesome). you can only direct them to water, but can’t make them drink. I do feel sad when I can’t share my admiration with ones I love, but it is what it is. Then I get over it and watch his programs and I’m happy.

Not inappropriate at all, I had the same reaction especially about POTO. But you can’t change other people. This inpersonator probably only has this as a way to make a living. I want to focus on positive energy that can push Yuzu forward. No judgements- we all get angry and want to vent. Isn’t that what a forum is for?
-
@SparkleSalad you and I...Zen...I appreciate your comments to avoid the pull to be negative. Positive energy from everyone is the better route.

Mushroom Yuzu 3T(or lutz)2A sequence morphing into 4T3A. It was all in his calculation.

I'm with you, but I don't think most people here think Yuzu's not going to Worlds. Of course, as long as he is healthy he is going. It's just if it seems like Dai could have gone if not for Yuzu, Dai fans will wig out. Athough I gotta say, wigging out by Dai Ubers will happen no matter what. IMO

It's day after WD on 12/14, just recent translation.

This is kind of sad. A groupon sale for 4CC for front row seats. I bet they are wishing Yuzu makes a surprise show. https://www.groupon.com/deals/gl-four-continents-figure-skating

I agree but I also think as long as Dai doesn't have a fall, his GOEs will be through the roof. I kind of feel bad for Shoma since without Yuzu he is the top Japanese male and should be getting the attention. In retrospect, I"m kind of glad Yuzu withdrew from JNats, so much potential happenings for the antis to use.

I’m curious to hear what her coaching team thinks. Also is TSL now the premiere news source LOL. Was this announced in any other international news sources?

This bit of news is interesting ... “Because Takahashi is not part of the national team program at this point, he won’t be eligible for selection to the team for the worlds. But that is just a side note, as the 2010 world champion made clear his goal for this season was to make the final group of six skaters at nationals.” https://www.japantimes.co.jp/sports/2018/12/18/figure-skating/high-drama-nationals-return-daisuke-takahashi/#.XBjYL4pMGhA So antis can’t say Yuzu stole Dai’s spot even if he places in top 3. ( though they’ll probably say it anyway)

This photo is so cute. I find it heartwarming when I see kids drawn to him like bees to honey.

Thanks!

We can and will wait for you Yuzu, take your time to heal.

I know most Fanyus have seen this, but I think this really should be repeated every 50th post?... 100th post? Believe me...will help with the drought. I know “bookmark” exists but I think this video needs an active reminder. Kudos to the creator.

Other athletes obviously admire him including Ohtani, but can someone translate the caption?
-
LOL, I don’t even know this organization but I think I voted like 20 times . We love you Yuzu!
