Just finished catching up, about the costume talk a few pages ago: 1) iirc NDP wasn't designed by Johnny. It just follows his style. 2) It's speculated that the costume could be designed by 折原志津子(not sure how to pronounce the name - she's the designer of etude & RJ1), because she went to cricket club during the summer. If it turns out to be true I'd love that so much! Aside from the sheer beauty of her past works, it's like Yuzu's not only going back to his origin with music & 4A, but with the costumes & the designer too Re: no musical reference to Nijinsky: Maybe the program is not that much about Nijinsky? In the interview he didn't even mention the name, just Art on Ice & music used by Plushenko-san. The program is about his Origin in skating, so probably rather than Nijinsky the legendary ballet dancer, it's more about Nijinsky the iconic program by Plushenko.

Over the past few years Yuzu has often said in interviews that he loves skating itself, that sometimes when things get too difficult in life, his only happy place is on ice. So I guess what's behind the "getting back to enjoying skating" is not that he somehow lost his love for skating, but that the love was interwoven with so many meaningful but heavy stuff, like his fiery ambition, the expectation from his country, disproving some people's doubts etc, that it became impossible to have simple enjoyment. But now, with the stakes off, he can enjoy all he wants.

Something from the interview posted by Nikkansports: So, let's just follow him without worrying and with blind trust.

Go for it! Worse case scenario, you can always get tickets at the box office, and some are really good tickets! It's Yuzu skating Nijinski in Russia in front of Plu-sama!

Awwww NBC please don't! I want to hear Johnny choke at this
-
I'm still catching up with the thread, but I think the music is a surprising and fantastic idea. He'll be so happy skating to them. That's like, everything. Also, no lutz or flip, but bringing 4A in the middle of the season... Is his health okay? Those above^^ plus the news says "not think about results, but skate for myself." I don't know... I'm sort of smelling a "goodbye" here...

Omgomgomgomgomgomgomg!!! It's 4 am where I live. I suddenly woke up from sleep, picked up my phone without thinking and BOOM! Yuzu! (Random fact: before I woke up I was dreaming about going to training with Tracy on a cold winter morning, running into a very happy Patrick on the way, and ending up training alongside a very happy Kaetlyn... Was that some kind of good omen??)

Should we start throwing pooh bears at each other now?Oh and I just came up with a better name, instead of butt spin I'm calling it Legs Appreciation Spin
-
Finally!!! Oooooooh I'm going to know new program music for the first time
-
I'm on Butt Spin Defense Squad! Yuzu has his straight long legs to make it work, forming an actual neat A shape. Plus, the position itself looks a bit unbalanced, with one foot on ice as the center & the other in air spinning. It gives me a sense of floating & weightlessness, which I find oddly pleasing. So I'd love to see it again, especially if he (though unlikely) decides that it's time he showed his back mercy & drop the Biellmann. I'd also love to see a longer Ina Bauer, like those he did in RJ2 & POTO. I think its brilliance deserves more than a few musical notes, but a climax. And the sit twizzles too, they have always been my favorite.

It says "post offices all over the country & the post service's online shop." I looked at the post service's press release on this, and it says "post offices throughout the country (except for some simply equipped small post offices)." So I think you'll be fine if you go to a big, easy-to-find post office. Or just order online.

You actually can! The status can be customized in the profile page. "Member title," first thing that appears after you click "edit profile."

How nice! Whoever organized this event must have put a lot of thought and effort into it, getting so many people together and all. It must be fun to meet so many fellow fans from all walks of life. I read somewhere yesterday that the prizes were donated by participants, and they ended up with more prizes than then number of people there

Lol what’s Aliona saying between “hard worker” and “he’s just amazing”? I listened like 10 times but can’t figure out.😂 (Btw, it’s been a long time since I last came here. There were some connection problem on my side but finally it got fixed! Sooooooooo good to be back to the planet, missed you guys!)

This one I really love - it takes Yuzu's and commentators's impactful quotes, and makes such a grand and touching narrative out of them.

But they could be from a few years ago, and not his shoe size now. It's not the model he uses this year, right? It's Ice Fly, but I think he's using Piano now?

(I'm jumping past a few pages to reply to this so may lack context, apologies in advance!) I had similar experiences, though it's with a less kind media. After the sp many Chinese fans gathered to take a group photo with our banners, and many JPN reporters started to catch people to interview on that spot. One reporter from TBS caught me and asked me about why I became a fan. I'm always tired of media painting him as an idol so I focused on how he is forever challenging himself and an amazing inspiration. I heard interviews around me of people saying they're fans because he's cute and cool and brave and sweet etc. But that night I saw people complaining online that TBS' news clip painted Chinese fans in a pretty bad light. Apparently none of our cooperative and enthusiastic interviews were included. Instead they chose clips of someone who bought insanely expensive second hand tickets, and of someone who cheer only Yuzu but stare at their phones during other guys' performances. That's when I started to undertand why some older fans dislike JPN media so much. Maybe not all of them, but they can select and distort facts for their purposes and bias so badly. Anyway, I'm so glad yuzu knows and understands all that. What a wise and perceptive guy he is, seeming to know everything. The same as when he did the binocular gesture to see fans in corner seats, and when he thanks fans who can't afford to make the trip or don't have time for watchign streams, I feel it's such a bliss to be his fan.

I have Oly threads from 6 forums that I need to catch up to, and I'm only half way through the first one😂 Starting to wonder how I did it during past competitions when I flollowed most of them almost real-time😂
-
Didn't he say he'll try to get a flight as expensive as possible? Another pro point for going to Australia
-
Finally confirmed! My heart can rest now. 2 weeks sounds a bit short though, compared to what he had to do before the Olys? Anyway, plz yuzu put your health condition absolutely in the first place, and stuff like "reponsibilities for shows" second! Maybe taking a leaf from Adam Rippon's book is a good idea, if you know what I mean

Oh my god that's brilliant, he really saw it! I'm tearing up a little seeing it This is done by a group of Chinese fans, a lot of whom I think are still students. I saw them start planning like 10 months before the Olympics! I didn't join because my seat wasn't in any right area, but I'm so glad right now that I can say I cast my vote for the quote on the signs. One of the girls tweeted about it after seeing the news: Actually, could I maybe ask you guys for a favor of retweeting it with Yuzu's tags? The thing is, Chinese fans, along with a lot of other East Asian fans I believe, sometimes are really frustrated for being mistaken for Japanese fans. (Like, between CHN and JPN fans we know that CHN fans mostly throw pooh bears while JPN fans mostly throw flowers, but the rest of the world (i.e. media) just think we're all one big ambiguous mass...) So they're hopeing to let more people see this tweet, to show the scale of Yuzu's international support! (And maybe a chance of Yuzu himself seeing it, since he seems to know everything online lol)

Are you using a smartphone? Sometimes it asks you to download the websites app to play. It should be fine if you open it on a computer.

Hey guys! What a perfect day it was, I have no words Anyway, I’m in Gangneung and about 60 pages behind this thread, but just come here to drop this fancam I took today! (Ignore the excessive screaming. I lost myself completely to Fredrick Hanyu!) https://m.weibo.cn/5856487345/4208050355761183

It could be the filter, but it does seem that he’s not having those black eyes that featured his last photo. I think that not competing for months could allow him to start adjusting for the pyeongchang schedule way earlier than others.
