I think he'll still stick with 4Lo thou... The thing w Hanyu is, if he gets held back mentally for whatever reason, he might bring a half-ass perf like ACI FS this year. Even taking a risk w his 1st 4lz and struggling somewhat for the rest made a better outcome. He alr makes up his mind to leave 4lz out, don't think he'll go further than that. Thou I hope whatever decision he makes, his mind can come to term with it properly to avoid underdoing, or overdoing, neither of which would bring good result.

Oh I saw Helter Skelter, the cinematography and visual effect is super impressive. I can kinda see tendency of bold color effect and a bit erotic vibe (from his gaze) in this shoot.

An absolute upgrade

Never underestimate his sassiness

"I want them to see how wonderful it is to see him back on the ice". As a Yuzu's fan I'm very touched by these pretty words, Iike I don't need ppl to go crazy over Yuzu like his fans, just acknowledging his wonderful existence for figure skating as a sport fan is enough.

SEIMEI is my utmost fav costume, but Hana ni nare deserves some spot for its Jpn-inspired and simple yet delicate design. I love it when the sleeves flying along his hand's movement:

I don't think Yuzu have that much of YOLO tendency when he's in the middle of performing. He sure likes to take risk, but it's must be well in advance that his mind is fully prepared for it, like 'I'm gonna do this and that for next prog'. Rmb how articulate it is when he said about what he's gonna do in each prog, and how he''d do it .He even said about drawing a full vision in his mind just in few seconds of eye closing at the beginning of Ballad no.1 so that he can implement it perfectly later. YOLO ppl tends to forget/or not even bother how they decides to do smt at that YOLO moment. For Yuzu, EVERYTHING is planned, even if there's adjustment later it might alr have planned in his mind at the start of the prog. Saying so, I'm sure it's just us who still don't know what's he doing, while he himself alr planned it for weeks probably. Minor change is possible if he makes mistake at the start.

From Brian's direct words here he doesn't say Yuzu won't do 4lz, just except 4lz everything else is good. I don't really buy Jpn articles so unless they quoted Brian saying he would leave 4lz out I keep skeptical. 4lz is risky, it strengthens bv but if he can't pull it off cleanly it it might affect his mental at the start and ultimately, the rest of his perf. But having a stronger bv might give him more confidence... Idk, in the end no one knows Yuzu well but himself, can only trust he will make the right decision.

PERFECT *argue me * I like the word "pride" to represent SEIMEI. SEIMEI is where he truly shows his "pride" to the world, pride as an exceptional skater, pride as a Japanese, and as a true warrior who's always fighting thru life.
-
SEIMEI and H&L are legendary and basically define what a skater Yuzu is (If must choose one then SEIMEI, that prog wholely represents Yuzu as a skater, and a person: a Japanese going out to the world to fight, with warrior's spirit and dignity, embracing his country's heritage. SEIMEI shows him as a main character of his life, while H&L is more of an embodiment of his ideal with Yuzu be just a part of it) Thou competing programs have superb skills and execution, I find ex have more artistic/creative choreo and show him more as a performer. Requiem is my utmost fav ex, Notre Dame 2nd.

It's less than 2 weeks. I'm so nervous for Yuzu... The fact that he skips team event makes me even more curious what kind of bomb he's going to drop in competition day. Can't imagine it's been THAT long since the last time we saw him on ice
-
I'm just worried he might be injured again while praticing 4lz...
-
I have no gut to rewatch SEIMEI due to all the Olym's pressure, so I rewatched H&L and Requiem (my most fav ex perf, must admit 15-16 was the PURRRFECT season we got the holy trinity "Ballad no.1", "SEIMEI" and "Requiem", can't find any perf I prefer over these 3 for each session). Not to say he made least mistakes compared to any other season and there were many flawless perfs I can watch again and again. Really, watching his skate is like miracle that makes me feel calm and peaceful instantly (I'm even obsessed w the music itself, Yuzu's music taste is ). omg I just want him to skate forever, it's so sad if one day I can't see more great perfs from him. Can someone pls produce Yuzu ver.2 when original ver. retires
-
C'mon if you are a big fan and followed him long enough, he's performed in much WORSEEE situations, and never below silver in any competition, except this one time in NHK and that's a very urgent case, now he even got proper rest. Being off ice for a long time isn't his first either. Honestly nothing about his current situation is his first either, prob first time being injured before Olympic? (but how many Olympics can a skater attend btw). That might be proper reason to worry if it's other skater, but it's Hanyu who defied expectation all the time (of how good or how bad his performace suddenly is regardless of the condition lol), injury and off ice reason seem not work for him.
-
I think whether he does well in practice shouldn't be the indication of anything... We all know Yuzu's outcome has mostly been depending less on his physical state and more on if he got the right "feel" when competing (except if he's severely injured at the moment, but I suppose it's not the case here as he might have sufficient recovery by the competition). That's why it's been so common for Yuzu to skate like he's drunk one day and perform like genius just the next day. And in what condition he can get that right feeling? God knows lol. Yuzu said about his outstanding FS in Worlds 2017: both his mentality and physique were in extreme fatigue, but they were in harmony that happened to generate good result. So it's not necessary everything must be in best state for things to work for him, nevertheless, even if his mind or body is in very good condition now, it still might not work if the other doesn't catch up, balance of mind AND body during the game is probably the right remedy for him.
-
I wonder if fans can still throw pooh's rain after his perf? Like they will censor the image or what ? Or is it forbiddened for audience to bring them into stadium too
-
His condition and practicing now is like national secret lmaooo. All answers about if he's recovering or how well is it is so wishy-washy I can't take any serious. Thou I understand everybody (from Jpn to outside) is looking at his each and every move, every single word to the public must be safe and neutral, otherwise it might bring unnecessary storm that's not good for his image, and his mentality too, before the big competition.
-
He is SOOOOOOOOO.CUTEEEEEE. OMG, his eye smile is soooo endearing my heart can't take it
-
I just watched his movie The Magnificient Nine and his appearance on screen, thou is even shorter than his SP ,is as impressive as on ice, as expected from KING OF SENDAI . Everyone legit bowed their head the whole scene Deserve best costume award
-
I'm sure they alr prepared enough standees to go thru events w/0 him=))). Btw the left one looks a bit creepyyy: the 'fake' Hanyu dressed up while pr-ing the product (and everyone must pose so diligently for event photos pretending like it's real )
-
lmao they actually zoom in his standee at the start =))) *king of relevancy even with standee's presence lol* Shoma looks like crying inside *I'M HERE BY FORCE LET ME GET BACK TO BED *

Nathan Chen thou , he hasn't lost anything since the beginning of season. He's not a well-rounded skater thou, but with the current score system that HEAVILY favors technique over artistry and quantity over quality I can see he aims for the podium if he pulls off 5 quads or such (which he succeeded twice or more?). Yuzu is invincible if he can skate cleanly ofc, but when was the last time he managed to do that btw. Watching him is ALWAYS a roller coaster of emotion, so compared to expecting 2 clean skates, I'd rather have a tragic SP and he bounces back with FS, that way surprisingly works better for him by past experiences. One thing that encourages me is he mostly, always managed to have at least one flawless perf for each program in each season (even broke WR). He hasn't skate SEIMEI well so far this ss so let's hope he do that in PC (breaking another WR is a bonus )
