  1. Is there a source or a new quote in that?
  2. Again with Nathan and his ballet. Don't care how much ballet he did before, but his posture on ice does not say ballet. It says contemporary dancer, which is great, his SP is perfect for a contemporary dancer and he's very good at it, but where's the extension and pointed toes and the perfect arabesque spiral? Why do they need to push that, Nathan moves on ice (except for his free skate) like a really good, strong contemporary dancer. Isn't that good enough, ffs? If anybody has ballet-like posture and movement on the ice, it's Jason, according to my sister who is a dancer. (She says she knows bythe level of envy she feels because she's a contemporary dancer who also does not have perfect balletic posture!) Maybe Nathan is capable of executing choreo inspired by ballet with the proper posture and movements, but he sure isn't doing that right now so I wish they would actually focus on his strengths, he has enough of them, instead of this incessant ballet talk. I admire his confidence too - he has managed to skate right after Yuzu and do well without crumbling. The boy should be hyped for what he shows in his performances, because he has plenty to hype. Except for that free skate. I can't wait for Yuzu to give us perfect Seimei again! I'm also not going to think about a great skate without gold, or gold without great skate, or just podium, or anything like that. Yuzu's aim for himself are uncompromising, and I will believe in him to achieve those aims no matter what. Talking about a lesser outcome feels... wrong. He would never think that way, even if he knows that disappointment if he fails will be crushing because he demands the best from himself. Thinking of lesser outcomes before they happen feels like sending doubt into the universe. The universe has done enough damage already.
  3. Oh dear Anoia, the relief! Thank you! I was sure he should but I wasn't entirely sure he would because the kuyashii can be soooo strong in this one. I wish I could tell him: Focus on getting better, Yuzu, and remember, "concentrate on practice in the best condition". Progress slowly, steadily, don't push yourself harder than your body can handle. You're not 17 anymore, six years can change a lot in how you heal when you're an elite athlete! Take the time you need, trust your training, trust yourself (unless you have a fever, then please listen to everybody else). You will be ready!
  4. I watched American Gods recently, I was thinking of how in that (and in Small Gods, done better I think), faith in a certain thing can kind of create a deity for it. With all the Poohs and swans and cranes for Yuzu, there might be one now! And Yuzu would be the High Priest. Help, knowing it'll probably be a while before seeing him skate again is doing things to my brain.
  5. Is there a deity to origami, because if there is, they must be very fond of Yuzu by now?
  6. Familiar feeling. But your thousand cranes are wonderful and thoughtful, and I hope the wish is granted.
  7. This is definitely where you belong.
  8. Every time I watch one of Yuzu's not perfect H&L skates, I wish there could be a way to get all of those commentators to get together and eat their hats. Sorry lads, but he set both the SP and the free records after you all decided that he was a has-been. Eat your hats. EAT THEM!
  9. My new prayer for the Olympics is for Yuzu to be at Ghana CM filming level of fitness and confidence and training.
  10. I'm just laughing about people complaining about Yuzu being selected to Olympic team. Like yeah, sure, the point of Olympic team selection is totally NOT to choose the people most likely to win medals and increase the country's stock in that particular discipline, the true way of choosing Olympic team is by finding out who are on the podium for a total of one competition. It's not like there are specific rules to account for exactly the kind of situation where the top athlete in a discipline is unable to compete in that one true competition because of injury.
  11. Tendon soreness and inflammation are fairly common for sprained anything. That heals fairly reliably with proper attention, which he's obviously getting. Inflammation is part of the healing process. The whole resting period while there's inflammation is so important because rushing that and stretching too much can really set things back. So we can all be glad that he had his team keeping a very close eye on him and making him go back to his nest whenever necessary. And for Yuzu realising that he needed to acknowledge pain and communicate and listen. If he decides to compete at nationals I will surely die.
  12. I'm with @CupidsBow and @MrPudding no idea how you noticed anything else.
  13. I wish he would repeat H&L. But he won't, not after he achieved pure perfection with it. Unless he has some secret desire to achieve pure perfection with it but with the 4Lz as the last jump... ETA:Maybe in 2020 as a tribute to the new last Miyazaki movie that's expected then...
  14. Imagine the determination to do it all perfectly at the Olympics because he missed nationals and lost his fifth GPF gold. The murderface is going to be epic.
  15. Ah, so he's talking about what he's going to do, not what he's doing. If that's correct, then it makes more sense. Well, the real important thing is how well he heals, not how fast he heals. If he's not ready for nationals but is well on track to heal a hundred percent, that is perfectly good enough.
  16. The miraculous one-footed crossovers - now that would be quality crossovers, yes?
  17. But he's definitely healing, and now we know that when he says practice on ice, he means more than just skating. The more we know, now. Your ava is making me giggle too.
  18. Maybe our boy is so extra he only calls it practice on ice if he's jumping at least triples. ETA: With all this extra practice on his non-dominant foot, I bet he'll definitely get level 4 on his Seimei step sequence!
  19. What is his defintion of 'practice on ice' then if he's already skating on left food foot diet is killing me and gradually adding load and turn to right foot? I am so confused.
  20. I don't expect it to last too long either. I think grumbling about Yuzu is many True Figure Skating FansTM's comfort zone. Ah well, they miss him when he's gone, at least. I had coffee so I'm less petty now. Still smirking though.
  21. Low-key salty about anybody who previously said mean things about Yuzu who are now upset about not being able to see him skate. Also low-key salty about JSF suddenly turning up in Yuzu's corner. Better late than never so I'm glad, but still salty. But the Yuzu-appreciation is great, as long as everybody remembers how they felt when they thought about the possibility of a Yuzu-less Olympics when they see him on ice next. I don't care about the inaccurate reporting about his knee, tbh, even if that not caring goes against every grain of journalistic integrity in me. Let them all read it and worry. After all the unfair criticism that has been tossed his way, I'm glad they're getting a very good dose of the 'shit, what if he's not there' feeling. Anybody who really wants to know can find the source and realise where it came from. Yes, I woke up very petty today. And I think Yuzu might look very young till he's middle-aged and then suddenly become a wrinkled version of him. He doesn't have any baby fat to keep wrinkles away longer than that!
  22. Guys, prepare for a complete, total flubbering meltdown from me, with bad internet because I won't be in the city, for JNats if Yuzu does compete. I'll need reassurance, updates, and a lot of handholding. A lot.
  23. He said he's much better, too. I feel like I'm just saying and saying that, but we shouldn't focus on just the pain part of it. He's much better and his recovery is progressing. That's good, he has time.
  24. haha I assume having limb chopped off is a 9 because 10 would be the ultimate pain and who can possibly know that! I only know about fracture and internal bleeding, I thought around 8 would be much much worse. Yeah I wanted old Seimei too, but well, all that's water under the bridge, I guess. As long as he's taking care now, he needs to be fine in Feb.
