I was gonna say that the Flip in the short didn’t seem to make sense, and I remember Max and Angelo talking about her loosing levels on her spins. The latter is more minor I guess, but considering the field... I agree that her programs were wonderful tho! It’s going to be very interesting to see who actually ends up at TCC. I wonder how done the Boyang deal was — was it a preemtive announcement by the Chinese Fed to try to pressure Orsser or was it practically done? I can’t imagine Zhenya blowing up her life like that without a done deal. Someone should place a journalist outside of TCC and get Brian’s ”No comment”.

I keep counting in my head, if Wakaba goes to TCC in a year (2019), she’ll have completed the ”year and a half” in late 2020/early 2021, giving her basically a year before the Olympics, is that enough to establish her as a medal contender? On the other hand, she has already shown that she’s a threat. And also, waaaay to early to speculate.

Eteri’s having a bit of a day.

I keep thinking of Katie Holmes and when she filed for divorce from Tom Cruise, also a Friday (June 29 2012, which I looked up ). She just ninja’d her way out of Scientology’s reach to NYC, reengaged all her old people and got a divorce settlement and custody of her kid in 10 days. And sure, in Zhenya’s case there were rumors, but still, was anyone talking seriously about BOrser? (Also, just comparing their game and strategy, not implying anything else.)

Definitively. But I was more thinking about more mundane things like keeping his motivation and training up on his own without a coach in a new enviroment without his usual support system and competing instead of studying during reading week before finals. That’s some next level powers of focus.

If he manages to pull that off, I will be super impressed bc to me that seems more than usually super human even for a figure skater.
