I thought this was a really interesting read! Like you, and others, keep saying, Yuzu will be FINE.

I read Brian's "I'm sure I would have heard by now" as a reference to Yuzu's team, not necessarily Yuzu himself. There might be stuff he wouldn't mind, but that his team would, so not reacting before talking to them might be a good idea. We see so little of how Brian is as a coach - basically just performative interviews and K&C appearences. And sure Brian says some weird stuff, but like my former PhD advisor can say some really weird stuff and he is an excellent advisor. Anyway, like so many of you have said, we don't really know the dynamics or the context.

Even with Tracy or Ghialain in the K&C it’s always so clear that Yuzu turns to Brian first and foremost, the other one is a bit of a third wheel until Brian has to run off. (Like at ACI or PC.)

Wait, the 4F2T gets almost 1.5 points more? Coincidence or conspiracy? (Or error?) And if their goal *is* to keep Yuzu from more WRs... they already eliminated like four of the seven points (for the 3F) he’d need. I can see him doing it. With another quad, he’d even have room for a slight error. But I still think the proposal is stupid.

This is so stupid on so many levels. Not least how incredibly opaque the scoring will be for (new) fans. They keep saying they want more people interested in the sport, but it’s clear they don’t really. I can’t get over an UR 4A being worth less than an UR 4Lz, 4F and 4Lo. I... I just have no words.

I passed my first Japanese final tonight, all bc of one (1) Yuzuru Hanyu. I was gonna learn Italian. It would have been great for work and holidays and stuff. Instead there was this crazy beautiful young man skating like he was everyting and I just... ended up here lol. I started laughing when my teacher asked why I wanted to learn Japanese. ”I like figure skating and Yuzuru Hanyu” is so much easier to say than I NEED TO UNDERSTAND CLIPS FROM JAPANESE MORNING TV GODDAMMIT. Anyway, it never would have happened without this forum, all y’all and Yuzu inspired me, so thank you!

Considering Eteri’s words yesterday, definitively. I also like ”new training methods”. 😎 It’s good that it’s done, and like someone said, the deal seems to be exactly what was leaked/said on Friday (stay at the club, train with Brian) so surely TPTB had seen it. Not what I was imagining the criterium to be, but DONE.
