I’m really only following ladies for Wakaba. There are a lot of talented skaters, artistically and technically, but none grab me like Waka does. Dynamic is the word for her. I hope she stays for a long time. Her future is so bright, judging be damned. Can Kaori just be on TV 24/7, please?

We need an Earth President to bestow an award on behalf of all of Earth’s citizens. He is a visitor from beyond the stars, afterall, and deserves our hospitality.

I’m imagining that as Max, who more or less said the same thing, albeit in a slightly more threatening way.

I think it will be a lot more difficult to hide bias. The American judge who gave only +2 for his 4T and 4S is going to stand out a lot more if she tries to give +3, for example, among a row of +5. As for the time reduction, I’ll miss that extra 30 seconds of magic as well but that too is going to really emphasise the difference in quality and the emptiness of programs of the kind of skaters who pack in quads but not much else and a skater like Yuzu who, in addition to paying attention to transitions and difficult entries, doesn’t need such long set up times for his jumps.

That’s been suggested, changing the factoring of PCS. If the aim is to achieve balance between TES and PCS scores and, consequently, in skaters’ focus on improving their PCS, then I agree. We’re lucky to have a skater like Yuzu who already does more than what the current system requires or rewards him for.

Watch him get +5 on his very first 3A outing. (I know they wouldn’t dare but...) I see this as sort of a quick fix to counter PCS inflation for quadsters but I don’t think it’s the right solution. Judging fairly is the only solution.

Right? I see a lot of gloom and doom about manipulation of a new system that isn’t in place yet but to me it looks like skaters like Yuzu will definitely benefit more. Please, people, form an orderly line to call me naive.

There’s also a reduction in time and one less jumping pass in the FS, though.

I need at least one off season to catch up beause I'm still behind on CoR stuff! I would also recommend taking the time to master Japanese using his new book. Fluency can be attained by next season, right? I still think he'll do FaOI, too. And he has those talk shows at the same time. We won't be so dry. I hope JSF is kind enough to tell us as soon as he knows for sure. Nationals cut it suuuper fine but that was a domestic comp so at least no one was stuck in another country.

So is the media whirlwind over? I take it he’ll be using this time to get his ankle checked. Any idea of when we’ll hear from him again?

It’s an ad for an Olympic Concert. I think there was something similar last year where they play footage of FS routines accompanied by a live orchestra. (He just introduces himself as the fellow who won gold, says the concert is on, and asks people to go.)

I’m not confident they will which leaves Keiji to essentially fight for his own spot next year. This is why I can only be 99% and not 100% sure Yuzu will withdraw.
