  1. I hope Marin gets at least one spot. It would be sad of fed drop her like that. After all, the two last seasons she got her GPs not totally by fed politicking unlike Yuna, Rika K, Rika H. She was always in top 24 SB list, so had one spot guaranteed. So this season, fed can make her a favor by giving her one spot at least.
  2. Her marks went up quickly till GPF but after GPF things got a bit weird. Rika didn't get a special support at nats, unlike Kaori and Satoko who got a major rise. Then at 4CC her PCS started to decrease, they got lower at challenge cup ( but that's a heavily underscored event), and at worlds she got lower pcs than her SB for basically the same performance. While Kaori got +5 on her pcs even if she was not clean. Rika maybe got support, but not that much compared to others.
  3. At least it's easier for Japanese ladies. I've read somewhere that Japan have 17 spots. Maybe 18. I think that Rika, Kaori, Satoko, Mai, Mako will have two spots, thanks to their results and SB. That makes 10 spots. With 7/8 spots remaining, Yuna and Wakaba can have two spots. Marin is in trouble. So the 3-4 last spots will be between her, Yuhana Yokoi/Yuna Aoki and maybe Ayaka Hosoda.
  4. Last season i didn't think even for a second that we would see Samodurova at GPF. But she made it thanks to an incredible combination of luck and consistency. So everything is possible. At this state, everyone is equal.
  5. Apparently i'm the only one who thinks that Rika's new choreo looks like Beautiful storm's choreo. The layout seems fab. Welcome to the newcomers 4S and 3F-euler-3S.
  6. Lol She's the very popular singer of Zagitova's EX song. I'm still waiting an EX on "you should see me in a crown"...
  7. I'm sorry but what is that? Does she really think it's a great idea?
  8. She's just almost 17 yo! She had URs issues but she could have move in pairs maybe. Or even ice dance (i think it was the plan). Or did she get a career-ending injury?
  9. Ok. Then let's talk about french skaters. I'm looking forward the fight between Kuzmenko-Méité-Lecavalier for the world spot. And the improvements of Adam Siao Him Fa on the artistic side. If he improves (and get a bit of consistency) it will make nats more interesting in men.
  10. Twilight is fun, as an EX. Not sure if it's a good choice for a SP. She needs strong PCS in the short, 35-37 at least. For that she needs to showcase her abilities in the best way. I don't think she can do it on that music. From what i've read somewhere, i think the plan was to keep her SP on departure but she was against the idea because it's boring to skate the same program for two years. I would've switched the musics. The FP music for the SP and vice versa. Supermassive black hole would be fantastic for the 2nd part of the free skate. That electric guitar...
  11. Well, that's dark. Is Gleikhengauz in a dark mood? Because danse macabre (Tursynbaeva's SP) is not exactly joyful either.
  12. Yes, there will probably be no interpretation. Which is better than embarassing moments. The good thing (or bad thing for some) is that skaters can do what they want with movies' OST. Sometimes, we can't see the movie's universe in the program. Like when Tursynbaeva skated to Princess Mononoke's music. I was happy when she announced the music. But when i saw the program....skating on Gershwin's piano concerto in F wouldn't have made a difference. She even had her own version of Yuna's dress on Gershwin. A Chinese skater skated her free on the same music the same season. Though her choreo was not the most refined, at least we could see that it was princess Mononoke thanks to the costume. Not that Tursynbaeva's program was bad, just that you couldn't have guessed the movie behind the music.
  13. Hmmm he should polish the quads he has before attempting this kind of things. His landings are kinda scary. Yes, totally a PR move. I hope though that his coaches work on the artistc side. Because he has good potential and it would be sad for him to just focus on quads. If Rizzo is the new Javi, Grassl can become Yuzu (of Italy).
  14. Imo, most of coaches don't care about if songs or movies from which music is made, are age appropriate. Especially in juniors, when i see on what kind of music many juniors skate. And imo if we are strict, some warhorses are not age appropriate. They don't care about costumes too. Let's be true, figure skating is a sport where women are sexualized. Most of costumes usually shows skin. Sometimes a lot of skin (even if it can be false skin). I'm surprised to find naked back on some costumes. But with juniors, sometimes they go too far.
  15. His SS and posture are not that great imo. Not i expect they will get better with Raf. If true, it probably means that Lee Barkell worked more with Gogo than Orser.
  16. Danse macabre is sometimes used but it's not a warhorse imo. At least not at the level of R&J, swan lake, carmen, scherazade, tosca, libertango, moonlight sonata, etc. Music cuts are not usually good. Since it's for the SP i hope the music cuts will be as good as in Yuna's program. Gleikhengauz created some horrors but sometimes he can cut the music nicely.
  17. Well, i guess that like Medvedeva it's about soul and death. I guess too that it will help her to get 76+ PCS....
  18. Oh God......i wonder what is the philosophical idea behind these mimes.
