I'm deeeply surprised and impressed. Great present for all the fans. Congrats!
Yatagarasu
I've managed to miss it because the timing really wasn't good but oh well done Russia, awesome opening for them and knock on wood, the whole WC!

Yatagarasu
Portugal and Spain. Goodness. No way am I going to miss that one! I am still head-desking about the Spanish coaching issues. I mean who does that, a day before the Cup? Am talking about the coach, not the FA cause they did the right thing but what a mess for the team. Of course I have to be out tonight, on the evening of one of (probably) the best games in the group stage, of all times... I'll just do my best to try to end up in a place with a TV, because I really don't want to miss it.

axelnojutsu
What even happened with the coach? Why was he sacked last minute?

I'm quoting myself about what happened: On 6/13/2018 at 6:59 PM, sallycinnamon said: Back to Russia...the Spanish team is busy these days! Lopetegui, former head coach of the national team was sacked immediately after he had negotiated with Real Madrid behind the back of the Spanish federation. He signed a contract with Real Madrid and no one knew about the decision until minutes before it was made public. Fernando Hierro, former captain of the national team will take over as head coach of NT. Spain's first match will be against Portugal on Friday so it'll be even more exciting how the new coach and the players will handle the situation then... What a mess...
