The title says it all. A discussion thread for all the other sports you may be interested in during the OG 2018! We'll be adding livestreams as we find them, you're also welcome to do so as well of course as time passes, so please join us in cheering for ski jumping, biathlon or curling! Why not?

Biathlon starts tomorrow and I cannot wait  that, cross-country and sj are my faves! 

I'm really enjoying watching the Japanese hockey ladies right now 

I'm watching short track because Hungarians have chances there for a medal. We haven't won any medals at the Winter Olympic Games since 1980 - the last medal was a silver in ice dance then. All other medals we had won before were in figure skating, but none of them were gold so far. We're not really strong at winter sports but short track has become successful in the past years and one of the guys won a World Championship gold, too. It's a huge achievement in a sport where there are big nations like Korea, China, Canada, USA, Russia, and The Netherlands, with long traditions and successes in the past decades.

Now the 1500 m event is going on and Hungary is qualified in the semifinals with the second best time.  

ETA: he fell in the semifinals but the judges still decided that he would qualify in the final! Yay, I'm happy!

 

I'll try to watch some ski jumping as well if I'll have time.

Biathlon is on right now isn’t it? I might watch that (yay women) even though I have no idea how it works

Im a Olympics lover.  But in this country, Olympics is not aired on free broadcast and I dont have Eurosports.

(Japan is a kind of  country clasy about Olympics, so Olympics coverage is abnormal (lol)).

Oh, it shouldnt happen.

Speed skate of shorter distance is Japanese popular sport and we usually expect medals. Especially we have good  skaters this time.

I think maybe it's more the long distances they worry about, especially the men's 5 and 10 km. Takes too long, too boring to watch for the average viewer from the 21st century (read: the attention span of a gerbil)... and indeed dominated by only a couple of countries. It'll be interesting to see what happens later today with the men's 5 km. 

I hope team Japan grabs some medals.
