Speaking of Riverdance... I liked Rika Hongo's 2015 - 2016 FS to Riverdance.

 

Incredible creativity and a sense of humour you'll never find anywhere else. Gene Kelly among other celebrities took the time to write to them after the Olympics saying they were robbed.

 

 

My mother took me to see them when I was young but not knowing what ice let alone ice dancing was, I didn't really understand how lucky I was. I only very vaguely remember about two seconds of the whole show. What a waste.

 

 

 

Hooked on this for the past few days. Interesting to see several moves that would make it into Parisienne Walkways later. Jeffrey Buttle seems to be the only skater who can make David Wilson choreography hold my attention (or maybe the only one that David can choreograph something like this for). They were a good team.

Ok... so this isn't an iconic status performance and they're not super popular (hard to be when competing with Virtue/Moir and Weaver/Poje in CAN) but what I love about Gilles/Poirier is that they are unique and love to think outside the box. Whether or not it works with the judges (and FS fans) is another matter. This performance to the soundtrack of Hitchcock made me a fan.

This video is also blocked .

This one is fresh in memories so I wasn't gonna include it since it was just last season, but as a big fan of ice dance (probably my favorite of all) I have to include this as a FAVORITE routine because this is one of my favorites ever <3

Include whichever routines you want! (even recent ones!). I think there's a separate thread for more iconic performances anyway. I mean my favourite short dance last season is Gilles / Poirier (yes, that includes Paul's 7o's pornstache aesthetics  ) even though some people found it weird. hahaha

I liked this one well enough but I didn't LOVE it, lol. I didn't get the hate for it at all, though.

I'm the same. I don't understand the intricacies of Ice Dance so I usually go for more quirky or unique routines.
