Kondratyuk's new SP is definitely something completely different so far.  He looks so small compared to the others but his presence on the ice is big. Good multidirectional skating, many good transitions in his program. 4T-3T, 4S, 3A, his jumps aren't that big. Best StSq so far probably?

Aliev's first two jumps smooth landing and nice flow and I thought this is gonna be good.  Third jump landing ...crunch.  Do like the choreo and his interpretation and the knee slide was beautiful to this music.

Ted talks about how he couldn't do a big pick on the Lutz so he didn't have a chance to go for the 4Lz and went for triple instead.

There are interviews during ice resurfacing, now it's Aliev there. Too bad I can't understand anything in Russian.

I thought I read somewhere that he wouldn't be in the GP series and they would send another rep after the test skates.  But can't remember where I saw it or possibly I mix him up with someone else.

Thank you for recapping all the jumps.I'm still a newbie and just learning how to differentiate the jumps wihout the tes box.

I think it is the Nebelhorn Trophy, not the GP series. Because he was assigned to Nebelhorn Trophy first then he WD and RusFed will pick the skater to Nebelhorn after the test skates.

From what i read he will not go to Nebelhorn and rusfed will decide who is going after the test skate.Dont know why though

No problem. Watching a lot of skaters helps a lot to differentiate elements, not just the type but the quality as well. Making mistakes/mistyping some elements happens though.

I think they assigned someone because of the deadline for the competition but probably the plan was for the federation that they wanted see the current form of the skaters on the test skate and send the skater who is in the best form currently.

I watched only Boikova/Kozlovskii, Mishina/Galliamov and Tarasova/Morozov. I think I liked M/G the most just because their short program they kept from last season is great. I liked the quality of T/M too but they need a bit more emotion in that performance. 

 

Now the women are next!

Maiia Khomykh is first. 2A, 3Lz, 3F-3T. She kept this SP from last season right? It suits her.

Liza Nugumanova. Die Fledermaus suits her. She was a bit cautious in the first half of the program, but got into the performance in the second half. 3Lz done but dowgraded, 3Lo-2Lo, 2A.
