Maybe invite Ghislain to Japan, I dont think he needs Brian or Tracy too much beyond a skype or two. Brian even stated at Yuzu's level he knows what is needed. But Ghislain could pop over lol

Japan gotta eases up their entry requirements first before that can happen lol

Hi, welcome to the planet!! :welcome:

Hope you enjoy it here! :YuzuPoohLove:

I think Yuzu had not been to TCC nor trained with TCC coaches for many years (mostly due to covid at first, but now probably because he has his own goals and vision for his skating). It's possible he didn't want to give others the impression that his strategy for these Olympics (for example, pursuing the 4A above winning) was anyone's decision but his own. I think it's a pretty considerate thing for Yuzu to do, tbh, and doesn't imply at all that he had a falling out with Brian and Tracy. He wanted to take responsibility for his own skating for better or for worse.

It's been slightly less than two years since Covid forced Yuzu and other international skaters to leave Canada.  Brian and Ghislain and Tracy were training him in person until that last moment and were in Skype contact for the balance of the 2019-2020 season.  He was still being coached by coaches at TCC, though not in person, for the 2020-2021 season.  It was only last fall that he truly set out on his own (and we can imagine he was still having some contact with some of his coaches).  I'd hardly call that "nor trained with TCC coaches for many years".  He has been in Japan nearly two years due to Covid but has hardly been coach-less even the majority of that time.

tbh having a teacher to learn from, even if you are already great, is invaluable. but maybe Yuzu is on the lookout or already consulting new teachers. You can do a lot of things on your own but having someone giving advice and outside perspective is gonna add to your learning ( as long as you have a good relationship ofc)

I feel it as a bit significant that he was alone in front of the screens during this Olympics. I think this was his thing, and not really something he was coached to do. He made all  the decisions unilaterally, and probably disregarded advice on what he should be doing so for this time he wanted to stand alone and take responsibility of his actions. To his this quad  axel was super important and maybe not many supported the idea of doing it on Olympic ice. or maybe he was considering he may not medal and he also wanted to take that "burden" alone, wouldn't put it past him.

But honestly the 4A is his thing, he learned mostly on his own this past years and I think he deserves the whole credit for all that he did accomplish with it.

It is not like he doesn't get help. He has been exchanging videos and emails with his team these whole two years, yes? He obviously has been consulting Mishin and that is surely done online as well. Even his choreos are via Dropbox.

As for him being alone on screen at the Olys, that was his choice. Backstage he did interact with his team, yes? For Mishin too, all we saw were a nod and a gesture. And if they chatted with each other in some ways thruout the Olys, we have no way to know.

Ultimately, he figures out the 4A physically on his own but he does receive advice and support from afar.

Wait what? How come?

The origin watch is for men?

It"s a men's watch I believe...but I cant help feel it would be big on a lot of men too...so there should be some way to adjust it, but the clasping only allows one sizing.

I actually find the watch size quite right on my wrist and my wrist is consider thin. Out of all 3 yuzu-related watches from Citizen, this is my most worn one cos the others are too dainty for me. Not that I wear the Origin watch that often too cos I can't bear to scratch it.

Congrats to getting your watch delivered safe and sound!
