I see his haters are at peak workload to erase his achievements. Calling him “phenomenally lucky” to be able to get 2 OGM and assigning his wins due to the mistakes of others.  Imagine, calling Yuzu lucky, out of any skaters. When was the last time that luck was actually on his side? The skater hated by his federation, battling chronic asthma, with injury riddled body, under the pressure of a whole nation, is called “lucky”. Yuzu has the most supporters but has some ugliest haters too.

I think it is better not to pay too much attention to these types of comments. Haters gonna hate. And of course, given the extent of Yuzu’s popularity, the number of haters is going to be high too. It is so easy to twist the facts anyway: Yuzu’s record breaking programmes, his longevity in the sport and the awe he inspires in many speak for themselves. The rest is only noise ;)

Is it really surprising though, since he is so popular it's quite obvious he's gonna have the most haters, mostly those who like to question everything just because. It basically happens everywhere, for example even Simone Biles has enormous group of haters that deny she's the GOAT, like it could even be questionable:shrug:

Why pay them any attention? That's what they want.

Maybe we expect too much of them and it’s just not like them. In all interactions which at least I have seen so far, Yuzu was the active part, such as Yuzu joking and Shoma laughing or Yuma casting side glances at Yuzu when they shared the podium, in order to do the right thing  at the right time. They were accustomed to Yuzu always knowing what to do and take the lead, taking care that everyone is comfortable. This (the venue ceremony) - even more than the charismatic Seimei  FS - was what impressed me most  4 years ago: That Yuzu treated Shoma and Javi like family on the podium, like a caring mother. I hadn’t seen any of them before, didn’t know who they were, but I felt immediately that this (Yuzu’s) behaviour was unusual and reassuring and it made me feel comfortable. I somehow cannot imagine Shoma or Yuma hugging Yuzu first. Further, they are not accustomed to seeing him in such a situation and maybe they were hesitant and insecure? Maybe they were afraid that hugging or patting Yuzu might seem arrogant or inappropriate? Not sure, just my personal thoughts ...

You're absolutely allowed your opinion, and while I can concede that it is uncomfortable and they may have only been trying to not address the elephant in the room because they didnt know how, I dont like it. You make a valid point and certainly, if I were to put myself in their shoes I wouldnt know what to do entirely myself...but while the behavior of ignoring something uncomfortable is sort of...usual for Shoma (lol), I just cant get myself to ever forget how gleeful Yuma was to get silver ahead of Yuzuru the 1st time I watched him...so I am not forgiving of him. I know it was corrupt judges that put him there, but he came across to me as arrogant, gloating, and I have a hard time changing that perception of him. I try, but then things like this sour me and harden my heart all over again. It just reaffirms he is boastful, arrogant, and gloating to me.

Admittedly, I probably do thrust high expectations on them...but I still cant help my own bitterness and feeling that a simple dial back was not so hard a thing to do.

Try to ignore them. Your blood pressure will thank you...i've read similar to you and even a few things worse...im sure you have stumbled over worse too and it's not worth it :/

I think many people, mere mortals, advised him to "compete for the gold" and not to risk anything. His way of thinking is so different from normal humans but that's how genius people are.

As it is machine translated I say nothing on Mishin, but his experiment-imo-didnt fail. I think he got what he wanted in the sense of pushing the sport forward. After all, he tried it. So it's out there now, that real attempts are being made before a world stage, watch others follow suit now in their own time.

I just feel bad reading a machine translate of "fail" when it comes to Yuzuru lol😅

Exactly, it didn’t fail at all. I don’t know why Mishin, in general, is so negative about 4A. He kept implying no one can do it blah blah. Sure, the jump is a beast and super risky but I, personally, don’t think it is impossible for Yuzu (for everyone else yes impossible). He went from 4A<< to 4A< in one month, with a bad injury. That is huge achievement, although scores won’t reflect the difficulty that Yuzu was doing. Moreover, his other jumps have improved drastically too in the past years. I know 4A has damaged his body but it increased the quality of all of his other jumps massively too.
