  1. Dear satellites and friends March 11th is approaching and it will mark the 10th Anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami. Joining the commemorations, we have prepared a special stream on Saturday 13, 16:00 CEST. Please join us as usual via Twitch or planethanyu.com/tv The hashtag we'll be using is #PlanetHanyuCommemorates110311 We would also like to encourage you to donate to charities or projects focused on people in the affected areas and reconstruction’s efforts. The amount doesn't matter and there is indeed some possibilities to help without spending money. Here a few suggestions: The Great East Japan Earthquake Reconstruction Support Project: Just by clicking on the blue box in the middle of the page on https://clickdonation.psc-inc.co.jp/page/east_japan/, PSC will donate 3 yen to the Japanese Red Cross Society's Great East Japan Earthquake Donation Fund. You can do this everyday!! Also on March 11th (from 0:00-23:59, Japan time), Yahoo Japan and LINE will have a joint charity promotion whereby 10 Yen will be donated to earthquake disaster funds if you do a search by typing "3.11" on https.//www.yahoo.co.jp. Since March 2011, the Japan NPO Center in collaboration with the Civil Society Initiative Fund, has been operating the Japan Earthquake Local NPO Support Fund, which is used by local nonprofits in affected Tohoku area that need relief and recovery aid (information available in English). The group has a specific link for donating for Tohoku disaster recovery also using Paypal. You will find the link button ("Donate to Japan Earthquake Local NPO Support Fund") when you scroll down this website: https://www.jnpoc.ne.jp/en/how-to-contact-us/donation/ The Great East Japan Earthquake Recovery Initiatives Foundation primarily helps young children and youths affected by the disaster. They confirmed they accept donations by wire transfers or credit cards through their website, but the donation's currency needs to be in Yen. Bank account details and credit card donation details can be found on www.minnade-ganbaro.jp/shien/donation/ (information available only in Japanese, we'll try to provide a little bit later a translation and guidance how to donate). If you are interested in supporting children, there is also The MICHINOKU Future Fund. Its focus is on those who lost their parent/parents in the disaster. Here is their English site: http://michinoku-mirai.org/en/index.html The NPO Riku Café was set up in 2012 to promote activities for mental and physical well-being in the community mainly targeted at the elderly. To find out more about their purpose and activities: http://rikucafe.jp/about-english Please feel free to reply in this thread if you have any other suggestions!
  2. After Worlds 2019, we decided, we should do something like a cheer project for Yuzu. One of the ideas is making a donation in his name. All important info is here: Here are the charity options researched by @Veveco: In the end, we've picked Sendai Ice Rink and Playground for Hope as the best candidates. Edit: (here is a nice article about Playground for Hope project: https://www.japantimes.co.jp/community/2013/09/06/our-lives/playground-of-hope-project-builds-communities-benefits-affected-kids/#.XLX4mOgzbIU ) Which one do you think, we should choose to donate to?
