The brightest star is Yuzu
-
I had wondered if that route might be feasible. It might be sensible to make an enquiry as to whether they would be willing to undertake this, otherwise it might be seen as presumptive and the message and gift may not reach Yuzu The Planet would need someone to reach out to them if that option was to be explored

Hi Admins, Mods, Satellites Is the Planet planning to organise a planetary wide "good luck for the future type of support message" for Yuzu? It would be something to confirm ongoing support for Yuzu and an affirmation to him that people still want to be involved with whatever has has planned for the future. Leaving competitive life cannot have been an easy decision. The timing of the announcement after having said he wanted to ratify the 4A still seems off kilter, just a couple more ISU events, Challenger series even, could have let Yuzu have his childhood dreams fulfilled. For many reasons, both his own personal reasons and possibly some external factors, Yuzu has left the competition arena. Yuzu mentioned that he had felt unsure about reactions from fans and although Yuzu owes nothing to anyone outside of his close circle, it would be really nice if his concerns for fans could be allayed with a message of support. Now that Yuzu is no longer with JSF or TCC, finding a contact to deliver a physical gift or dedications book might be difficult, but there must be some way to do it and if funds are required I would be willing to offer a donation to help with this project Thank you for your indulgence

Yuzu never signed with a mega agency and your circumspection about a contract with a corporate giant is probably wise It would make me laugh if Yuzu made a few guest appearances in a Disney in Ice production, dancing with Pooh san, would be a super cute little number IIrc Yuzu performed with M and M Mouse and some children for a charity event in the past

Letter to ISU This is a real opportunity to send a strong message to ISU that their standards of judging, scoring, bias and discrimination has been noticed by the FS fan community and that as the Governing body for the sport they need to take responsibility for the governance of the competitions and the quality of judging etc. Public opinion can make a difference, public scrutiny and revealing sub standard practice will lead to change and can improve attitudes, behaviours and practice. I stand by these convictions, as one of the co writers of the letter. Just a couple of thoughts: People in power often think that they are untouchable. History serves to contradict this. Huge corporations have been brought down. Presidents have been impeached. Revolutions have taken place. Monarchs have lost their crowns and even their heads. Unfair laws have been changed. All of those radical changes were brought about by ordinary people. Those voices turned into movements. Change happened because of people acted together with a common interest.

Thinking of pursuing something at a higher level. Theatre royal will be hosting a tribute to Nureyev in September ( I recall that you admire his dancing ) I saw RN at the Coliseum in 1976 performance was Sleeping Beauty, still have the programme Like Nureyev Yuzu strives to be the very best version of himself.
-
I concur, Yuzu and his skating should no longer be constrained by the parochial confines that this jump fest has become. Yuzu can pursue his ideal form of skating without the scoring tyranny holding him back from how he wants to skate and evolve his version of FS

CiONTU was Yuzu's show in every way and received financial backing from Yuzu's sponsors post Pyeong Chang. It was very well received and the combination of Yuzu skating his well loved past programmes, with the gorgeous costumes and the Yuzu talk show was a huge success. Yuzu will no doubt dedicate time and effort into creating a wonderful ice show that will be enormously popular with his global fanbase.

After all of the tears shed, perhaps our Beauty blogger will be kind enough to give beauty tips on how to reduce puffy eyes and redness, although if the tip is to apply ice from the rink, maybe give it a pass. To be fair Ice chan does bring out the beauty in Yuzu

Hope that we will soon be able to see these masterclasses of what FS should be with our own eyes

That truly would be a competition worth travelling to see. Please, let me join the queue for tickets. Plus huge boxes for skater gifts and Pooh Blizzard and lots of fantastic merchandise Yuzu please take my money

Posted Virtual Pooh Rain on Twitter just now
-
We will visit you in Barcelona, may be not during the heatwave. You can show us around. I've visited before in 1998, really enjoyed that holiday
-
First one long, long drought before show production ready for action. Unless he has already planned something. There was a mention of something like open practice? Might be made up There will be loads of old footage released and aired and lots of interviews, talk shows. ( Am I being too hopeful ? )
-
Virtual Pooh Rain was planned for GP announcement ? or First Comp? Either way, now those events are not going to happen. Instead, it would be a great thing to do to give Yuzu his Pooh Rain as a support for his new path and good luck message. Let us know when to post.

The ISU President could not persuade Korea to act as CoC replacement host, the reason was cited as that it is very expensive for the host and is not likely to be financially viable. Clearly the ISU President struggles to have any demonstrable power or persuasion in his own country. Maybe Sheffield would be in the same predicament, especially if the larger venue cannot be secured, although without Yuzu attending, the smaller arena might suffice. Less tickets, less broadcast rights and less sponsors do not make for a lucrative undertaking. What a mess edit:grammar

Yuzu carried himself and spoke so regally at the press conference and the other interviews. I'm so proud of him

https://www.isu.org/figure-skating/news/news-fsk/14178-leaving-a-legacy-yuzuru-hanyu-retires-from-competing?templateParam=15 ISU have posted an article about Yuzu. Summary for those who prefer not to visit ISU site They have actually had the good grace/sense to include his long list of achievements: medals and record scores, the article is very complimentary, as it should be. Included are some snippets from the press con and some nice photos and some background Bio, which satellites know very well What folly to write lovely truths about the Emperor now rather than having shown appreciation when he was an active competitor With regards to the Grand Prix - Event 4 still TBA and Entries: coming soon ( I didn't snigger, promise )

Daily Spread Eagle Rumblings from Mt Irene caused massive eruptions of vapours and strange gravitational fields causing satellite orbits to be severely disrupted and erratic functioning issues. Pooh geologists report that these effects could continue intermittently throughout the next few months. The geologists who monitor the activities of Mt Irene have extrapolated many years worth of data and conclude that the activity of Mt Irene is linked to the activity of Planet Hanyu's Emperor. Seismic shifts in behaviour or actions may have a sympathetic response from the volcano. The Ice Emperor made an important announcement to the palace Jump Ladies and Pooh inhabitants which was the source of Mt Irene's eruption. Geologists reported that a chasm appeared on the side of volcano facing the palace and that liquid gold spilled forth cascading down the side of the volcano. The gold has created a shallow pool which engulfed and eradicated the paporika weeds. The liquid gold is expected to solidify within the next few weeks. The path that the gold took as it poured down the volcano sides has left an interesting golden tracery pattern resembling the wings of a bird. Some even claim that they are the wings of a swan but others say the wings resemble those of a dragon. Some of the forestry worker Poohs have taken the opportunity to collect some of the gold as it will be useful for decorating the palace and creating a new throne and Imperial regalia. The court physician recommends continued adherence to the prescription regimen advised for satellites in yesterday's news Prime Minister Pooh is awaiting further instruction from the Emperor regarding Palace refurbishment and daily regimen for the Jump Ladies The Emperor's most recently issued statement: "I will work harder to be the best Emperor that only I can be, thank you for your continued support, please keep supporting me." The Palace received messages from envoys and ambassadors from other galactic regions, in support of the Ice Emperor PM Pooh advises satellites to read news and announcements from Planet endorsed sources only, otherwise there is considerable risk to satellite working operations.

Hi Everyone, Hope you are feeling a bit better. Like many other satellites have described, I'm slowly moving towards acceptance, which is really irrational because Yuzu is not a personal friend but it does show how special this magical skating unicorn is. Logically, the decision announced yesterday, is courageous Yuzu at his best and the best decision for him I had a panic wake up in the night thinking that I had to buy GP tickets, then remembered that that is all over. Checked ISU Grand Prix page, not yet updated so 4th event still TBA and skater entries still states coming soon There was a post which mentioned Yuzu being robbed at GPF and that since then the GP series has been an accursed fiasco. There was also discussion about whether the 2 replacement events had been promised Yuzu's attendance in order to induce agreement to host. Maybe the deal is off, who knows and the whole debacle will have to have serious re organisation or fail. ISU will now be forced to examine their actions, because the cash flow is all but dried up, even if people have a favourite skater, most non prejudiced FS fans still appreciate Yuzu. Yuzu still sells tickets. It would make me overjoyed if the entire IJS has to be overhauled at the next ISU congress and the council have to go begging for a boon from Yuzu in the future and attempt to woo him to return I seriously doubt that Yuzu will return to competition but anything is possible. Dai Takahashi has retired the unretired to compete at Sochi, retired then returned in Ice Dance. As singles competitor he had to take part in regionals/challenger series to achieve a threshold score. It would be too funny to see Yuzu at a smaller comp, although to watch him skate his heart out and rediscover the bliss of senior comp like one of his first appearances at Nebelhorn would give FS fans a bonus surprise. Plush for all his brusqueness has given his view to Yuzu face to face and always advised Yuzu to go for 4 Olys. Anything is possible and Yuzu has been so courteous with a little light shading, no less than fairly deserved, that the bridges are not burned. Besides, when the governing bodies and feds are desperate to avoid extinction it will be they who need to rebuild the bridge. Yuzu is already moving on, his sponsors have declared continued support. I hope that he does not have misgivings about his decision, which would be understandable and natural enough, given that he has spent his youth and adult life competitively skating. The door might have closed for now on a competitive career, but it is definitely not barred to Yuzu. The future will be filled with golden opportunity for Yuzu and it's one that I really want to enjoy as well Sorry to be repetitive. Thank you for your indulgence. Sending hugs

Agreed, I will never spend any money on any ISU event from now on. I want Yuzu's endeavours to be an enormous success so I'll spend my money on Yuzu projects only

Yuzu's ice shows will be a whole new genre, like CiONTU. Yes there will be fun group numbers but I also don't think that we have seen the last of gorgeous, elegant, sophisticated solo programmes for Yuzu to showcase what he does best. There will be new creations featuring thrilling elements including jumps, maybe even Nessie and favourites to be revisited and perfected. As for costuming, these competition programmes won't be the last Satomi Ito designs that we see Yuzu clad in. It won't be the same as a competition, but Yuzu wants a different skating life. I think that it will be a fantastic new journey to go on with Yuzu. I'm going to try to see the shows, somehow I will manage this. Best of all we will go and see him as a group, together. I believe this I've missed out, due to family and work commitments in the past, I regret that. Of course like everyone else, hoping for just one more season, and especially as Europe is so accessible for me at least. I thought I might have a few chances to fight for tickets. I was prepared to pay for Premium, Platinum and VIP, even had hotels and Turin flight booked and bought Poohs.
