SEIMEI in red UA, that blink-and-you-miss-it spiral, the cheeky glance at Gogolev, the 4TLo3S that looks smooth as butter... I'm so freaking excited for this, guys. ACI cannot come soon enough
-
I am so proud that our dear Overlord has finally let himself go full troll; it's making for a very interesting off-season
-
I see what you mean but instead of being sad, for me it's more like a gentle nostalgia for what once was mixed with excitement for the future. The young and passionate boy who looked a little wild and struggled to stand at the end of his FS was what got me hooked, but I love the sheer power and confidence he has now. He's truly owning his talent and pushing forward in this crazy field with a new maturity, and I admire that. He's grown, yes; he has to in order to keep evolving. And what a monster he'll become, at the rate he's going
-
We've already been kinda rioting after some of the GOEs at Worlds last season though, so... who knows. Maybe judge's imagination's haven't reached their limit yet?
-
They'll give him those +3s once they put in place the +-5 GOE, I'm sure
-
They are, if you can see the context and body language they try to convey. Which is why I think they're great for in person teaching and not that good for writing XD

I can see the TV segment already: "And now, for the piece that's got everybody talking about art galleries again. There, front and center in the room amidst great expectation, hangs 'Yuzuru's Running Edge'. This photograph, depicting a shadowed rink with the Champion's sharp curve bisecting the ice after a jump, has been all the rage since it debuted. Hordes of faithful fans have come from all around the globe to admire the stunning beauty and commanding feeling of the piece, sometimes even shedding tears in the presence of such perfection. The experience must be felt to be believed, so we do recommend you visit if you can; we also recommend leaving an offer of the Pooh kind beneath the piece, since it's said to bring good fortune to those who make the trip. And now, the weather"

I wonder if Yuzuru could ever manage to write a book about skating technique, given that he seems to have a marked preference for using onomatopoeias to explain himself. But his teachings should endure for generations!

It doesn't even look like a quad at this point, it's that seemingly effortless
-
...I think a bunch of my hair just gave up on life and fell right off just at the mention of that.
-
He's just over simplifying the difference between the pure Math and Physics of the jumps. No biggie
-
...okay. Sounds fake easy, but okay (This guy knows most people can't even do a full rotation on solid ground, right? )

Ask and ye shall receive... (ETA: it's been brought to my attention that the person who made that fancam doesn't like them being used for gifs, so I took it down. Sorry, folks) It's so commanding. Pity they didn't get it in the broadcast ¬¬

I saw the Eurotrash Signal in the sky and had to run over to the forum after my vacation. Because priorities. Yuzu eating trees is cool too, I guess. (Also, what's with the sudden bursts of poetry? You people are multitalented, as always XDDD)

As happy as I am to hear Javi is seriously training the 4Lo about time, seeing this field I'm still baffled at his insistence on the 3Lz3T3Lo combo. That -3Lo is already the bane of my existence XD Agree with everyone on the effective vs longer training issue. Yes, you increase stamina by pushing at your limits, but piling work on an already tired body day after day can't be good...
-
Presented without comment (who was it that said his crossrolls were not very good? lol): Forever in love with that first step sequence... Pity ISU changed level requirements and it had to go
-
I don't want to think about it because I'm afraid of jinxing it, but the possibility of something like that happening on Olympic ice... my gawd
-
Thoroughly enjoying the awesome jumps (that 4T3T rippon, he really must be feeling good *__*), the return of the murderface, and the nerdy statements about momentum nerds unite! *high five* Such a different vibe compared to last season, I'm so excited!
-
The tight, contrasting UA does contribute to the sharpness, yes. I think darker colours go nicely with SEIMEI's intensity and power and I'm still in love with that 1.0 step seuqence... The backwards crossrolls were to die for *__*
-
I get what you mean, it just looks... natural, the way he pulls his arms in for a jump. Seamless between one position an the next all the way to how he opens in the landings. Add to that the beautiful axis and overall position he has in the air and we get a very pleasing to the eye jumping machine (weird faces notwithstanding. G-forces don't look good on anyone XD)
-
It's not just the 4Lo, all jumps are looking sharp and commanding af. I never realize how much I miss watching them until we get something like this and I go "yep, that's the good stuff, gimme more"
-
We were talking yesterday about how much we liked the sound of his blades, so...
-
Nathan's betting it all on his quads, we knew that. Question is if he'll manage to deliver under Olys pressure, because if he does the PCS will follow as we all know and his monster BV will definitely make him a podium candidate. It's going to come down to stamina and mental strength, for him.

Count me in the "4Lz is alive and well" club, too. I still believe Yuzuru's keeping his cards close to his chest while working on stabilizing the jump further and waiting to see how the season starts for everyone, but the 4Lz is still very much in the race sorry, dear, but that "3A as a contingency plan" sounds suspicious
