Scott is saying about most memorable performance in his 17 years old experience as sport reporter/commentator/analyst, and he mention one-two sentence about Virtue/Moir, Patrick Chan (fantastic in his hey day), Duhammel/Radford, Papadakis/Cizeron, and also this quite long confession: "I'll throw in one more because he is a good Ontario guy. And that's because he trains part time in Ontario. But you have to be in the rink, if you are ever fortunate enough, all you people out there, to be in the rink when Yuzuru Hanyu skates. If you can be in the rink, he is, I mean, takes your breath away. The guy is that good. And he is so committed mentally and physically to what he does that he leaves -- you know there is an old expression leave everything on the table, around the field, on the play, around the ice -- he leaves everything on the ice. I don't know if I have ever seen a guy like that." They talk more about Yuzu's intense personality. And then they are talking about how fun it is when two titans are pitted against each other like Yuzu vs Nathan in 2019. And then about what it was like with Yuzu vs Javi in 2015. The overall discussion is also very interesting, and it explains more or less what happen btw CBC and ISU.
  2. Yuzu called Fumiya Sashida -- Sasshiii!! That's very close. LOL cute.
  3. please don't LGC or we will end up with no footage because of copyright strike.
  4. I honestly want Yuzuru to show off Masquerade just for shock factor for some people.
  5. Oh, but what if it is Zankoku no Tenshi being made into single exhibition program? #delusional
  6. I think it will be Crystal Memories too. Eh, but I don't know if he will change his mind since the Hagibis Typhoon creates a trail of destruction in Tohoku. I don't think it is possible for him to fit practice time for new program though (even if it is an exhibition one).
  7. I especially hate commentaries in which the commentators explain every little things happening on TV as if you cannot watch it yourself... yuzuru hanyu on the board, bowing to the ice, thanking the audience, brian orser jumping around--how interesting, pooh gets thrown onto the ice--amazing, I mean.... what??
  8. GP Series will be streamed in youtube?? WAOW WAOW WAOW. Oh, luckily, Yuzu's musics are not pop music or we will end up watching mute program. lol
  9. Why do i imagine someone needs to chase him weekly for mani pedi session?
  10. If they give that one to clients/partners, lotte will lost them
  11. Anyway I still hope that Max will make his own commentary video even if it is later in the day and that ElenaC will sub that too. And I agree. The JGP are all being uploaded to the the Junior ISU chanel. What is wrong with uploading the senior events to ISU chanel too??
  12. Toshi is COMPLETELY INFATUATED with Yuzuru Hanyu
  13. Well, Aceh is just an example. We also have a repeated occurrence of Yogyakarta's Mount Merapi and Bali's Mount Agung eruptions almost every year talking about as far as natural disaster goes. Both mountains are in places which is very supportive of the centr. government. But yeah, talking about catastrophic event, the Boxing Day Tsunami is on another level. Anyhow, realistically speaking, someone needs to be nurtured from childhood, in a very good environment, to be a good role model, to reach high achievements, and it is a gift from above for a child to have arresting personality and star power, to attract interest of the general population. Athletes' development program is one step, and watching how the Japanese media and government documenting every aspect of a child athlete career is something mind blowing for me. It encourages people to root for those athletes more, and created idols (not idol-idols, but role models) out of those athletes, someone that other children can look up to, rather than insane local celebrities that current teenagers are following. But of course, it is a matter of money too.
  14. Actually the one in which he hid his face. It is actually beautiful... you dont really notice the outfit then.
  15. Well, my country is also situated on the Ring of Fire. The outer Islands are all series of volcanic islands, so it is volcanic eruptions every year in one or two or more mountains here. It is also situated on top of a big geological fault, so a little bit of rupture, then bam! big earthquake. We experienced small tsunami, big tsunami, but we are always awfully unprepared. No to mention, the flooding and landslides... -_- It is easy to stop caring and stop having empathy about victims of natural and man-made disasters, especially when it feels like it happens every other day in places not really close to you even if it is still in your nation. In many ways it makes me a little bit conceited? I feel safe where I am in my city, where I never experience catastrophic event here, only small earthquakes. That is why, when I found about Yuzuru, I keep thinking that it will be good to have someone to take the role as an ambassador of disaster area, like Yuzuru is doing. When a famous figure bring an interest to a disaster area, general public will definitely follow him/her. Unfortunately, we gonna need a very peculiar figure to take that role, someone empathetic rather than sympathetic (because it just feels like a reporter going to disaster area, then).
  16. Regarding the role of a public figure in the trails of national's catastrophe, I just want to say that Yuzuru, despite his own feelings that he did not deserve to take that role, has indeed taken that role admirably. From the beginning, he has been hailed as the Future of Tohoku, hasn't he? He was 15 years old when they made the documentary about HIM as the FUTURE of Tohoku. It just takes them (the media and the local government) a step forward to propel him onto the role of the Star of Hope --> for Tohoku, and then for Japan when he brought the only gold medal home AFTER the most catastrophic event in the modern history of Japan. It is a tremendously difficult role for anybody, but especially for a teenager, that I am very much convinced somehow, that Yuzuru's family themselves are people with well-known and dignified reputation; at the very least the adult in that family must be people who are used to being looked up to by those around them, and they bear with being well-respected family with grace. Because, without those kind of support from the most influential people in his life, there are 100% probability that someone with such a role will definitely cave and burn. Anyway, as a public figure, Yuzuru has chosen to accept that duty, to be the ambassador of regions affected by disasters. He brought awareness about the damages in that area, and moreover, he brought hope for the people of those area too. What he is doing with 24H TV, is not only he performed there to entertain those people, but, he understands his star power. When he visited areas affected by the nuclear radiation (cleared up as it is), he is showing the rest of the Japan and the world that it is now safe to be there. When he went to Hokkaido and tasted the local product, he promoted it so his fans will buy it too and therefore he supported the livelihood of the people of disaster area. I can only hope that someone in my country can take that kind of role, but it seems impossible, because it needs a cooperation between government, media, and the public figure in the most organic way, with someone that is obviously has all the requirements to be a good role model, beside having a star power. Do you all remember the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and Earthquake? It affected so many countries and killed 300.000 people, but for me it is almost forgotten. My country is one of the most affected nation with half of the death tolls come from here. But I only seem to be able to connect with it only peripherally, even if one of my aunt lost her baby there. My mother went to that province once this year (2019), and she said that it does not feel like much development happen, and no public figure has risen to the occasion to remind people of it, and especially of the very real potential of such a catastrophic event to happen at any time! But Yuzuru, he... has successfully makes me feel more connected with the disaster that happen... in Tohoku, Japan, away from me..
  17. So we can awlays trust Kose Sekkisei to deliver the best Hanyu campaign.
  18. Oh it is still in the era of Yuzuru trying to keep a stiff upper lip refusing to show his vulnerable side to the fans. 😭 And maybe part of it is they are trying to avoid public backlash similar to COC 2014 when Brian bore the blame of Yuzu competing while endangering his future. Thanks for clearing it up by the way.
  19. OT but is there any western media that talk about Yuzu's injury in 2016?
  20. I think that's why we all shall see the difference in commentator's commentary across different country/nation.
  21. Well, in anime world, Yuzuru is a mix btw the villainous-but-not-really sports-man senior who every junior wants to defeat. A specter that terrorize challenging athletes. But he is also the protagonist challenger, the one who face a challenge head-on, got defeated, went to train and/or level-up, come back to the next competition, and conquer. In other words, Yuzuru is a top athlete, legendary level, a very strong competitor, but he is also a very resilient human.
  22. One of the newest comment : "Yuri on Ice in real life!" And I was like NOPE and started my rant on why you should never say that Yuzuru is Yuuri! I don't know why it make my blood boil, but maybe because of all the incidents and injustice that Yuzuru decides to accept and fight against by aiming to perform better than the ISU and the rest of FS community think he can. I mean, I can understand if someone start liking FS by first watching Yuuri on Ice, but, to see Yuzuru and his pretty face and think that he can be a real life replacement for Yuuri, while Yuzuru himself is his own character with an even more interesting story line that Yuuri Katsuki just makes me so upset. Yuzuru is not a replacement for Yuuri, even their achievement cannot be compared if you only see it from his gold medal Olympic performances. And further on the road, their physical and mental struggle is so night and day. Not to mention their signature program. Okay, not that I have cooled down, I hope this person will start to look more for Yuzuru and understand how one should never compare Yuzuru and Yuuri, because, if you only think that Yuuri is based on Yuzuru just because they are Japanese, have black hair, black eyes, figure skaters, and pretty face, well, there are other Japanese male skaters who fit that criteria too.
