Boo on the lost files. They might be in the cloud??? I back up my phone files to my computer and everything gets copied to an external back up hard drive. (I don't do that often enough, and there's usually an issue with "space" on my computer.) I have lots of photos and videos from both ACI and SCI, but only the ones I took. And I have had zero luck trying to post anything on here (though I can to Facebook and Instagram).

He can't do it. I agree with the assessment of his 3A consistency and, truly, if he wants to work on something, he should spend some time on his spins.

You're mind isn't any more pervy than the rest of us - you just say what we're thinking out loud,

Thanks for the info, Anni!

I read a press release from JSF stating that Nationals may have 1/2 an audience, though that can obviously change at any time depending on how the virus is doing - but! Does anyone know how I'd even get a ticket for that (when they go on sale)? Is it a lottery thing? Probable that Japan won't let me travel into the country, even two months from now, but I'm grasping at anything. I presume Yuzu will be skating, but I also haven't a clue if he would.

He hasn't even been to Niagara Falls. Up until this summer, he's always had his studies to go back to, at his apartment. A studious and private guy, I also think he wouldn't want the commotion that would come with his appearance anywhere that tourists go to. Considering the amount of global travel he's done, I would guess he's seen less of what the world has to offer (museums, natural wonders, historical locations, etc.) than a casual traveler. Kind of sad, really. But I understand his reticence.

She said the same to me. I think her response is different in response to the phrasing of the question. There's all kinds of ways to ask about him, but it's that initial response to the "favorite skater" that seems unpredictable.
-
I did correct her. But she's still getting it wrong. She found Yuzu on the web and actually said he's "one of the best" and that "his warm-up routine may not be for everybody." What? I LOVE his warm-ups. I rephrased my question to "current" skater, male skater, favorite, best - I need a new Alexa.
-
I asked in English and live in the US. I am baffled by the responses. Maybe if I asked in another language...
-
Oddly, not my Alexa's fave. First she said Sasha Cohen and when I specifically inquired about male figure skaters, she went with Alexei Yagudin, which is ridiculous. Hasn't this Alexa been paying attention to what I watch?

There are still restaurants (though NOT in Tucson) that require a tie and jacket, but they tend to have loaners for guys who show up without them. In Tucson, there are places that literally cut your tie off if you show up with one. Then they hang it from the ceiling. Yuzu goes to many "formal" events and, I think, did get a new suit last year (?) that must have been custom made for him because it fit so nicely. Skaters legs and glutes do not lend themselves to the usual cut.
-
Never. The last time anyone showed up with a jacket and tie for a date was probably prom.
-
That must be such a weird experience.

All black Under Armour is my favorite Yuzu look.

Jun is in So Korea. The latest from the ISU was suppose to be the latest. It's been a known for a while that Jun couldn't come back (though I'd hoped, even if I can't go - I wanted him at TCC so he could train.) I had thought he was initially assigned to Cup of China...but it's been cancelled.
-
Okay, this isn't technically Yuzu, but does anyone know why it's still being reported that Jun will be at Skate Canada? https://www.insidethegames.biz/articles/1099129/chen-confirmed-for-skate-america
-
But it's back! Thank you for all your hard work. It's bad enough to have such a prolonged Yuzu drought, but worse to have no updates at all.
-
And it doesn't even show a photo of an ina bauer. But at least they mention Ghislain. He is so frequently left off the list of his coaches.
-
Better than me. I can't even read my own handwriting.

In the use of "figure skating", it's more than making figures when you skate. Up until 1990, all skaters had to do compulsory figures before the open skates. And they were still used in the U.S. until 1999 (and Canada until 1997) to access proficiency. Skating is different without them but that's where the name is derived from. (And watching the "figures" was stunningly boring and, I'm sure, nightmarish for the skater - one little goof and all could be lost before ever really getting to show your "stuff".)
-
Ditto. Of course, I'd be pretty happy being in almost any other country right now. But the watch....

Just to put it out there in the Hanyuverse, this would be just the right present for me for Christmas. Or birthday. Or just because it would look good on me.

I think Brian knew. Maybe he didn't imagine quite the impact Yuzu has had on the sport and in the world. But I feel that he saw something very special in the young skater. Of course his expressiveness and interpretation have always been extraordinary, but I bet that once Brian had him at TCC and saw the determination and work ethic, he knew, at least, the Yuzu could do what others had not. He needed discipline and the sort of coaching that TCC has to offer, but there had to be no question that, very early on, he knew he was working with the best. He just needed to train him and support him through his injuries and illnesses. He is both a proud papa and an exceptional coach (along with Ghislain and Tracy). I also believe that the presence and influence of Javi cannot be understated.

I've never seen a yellow kiwi (and am fond enough of the green ones) but will look in Costco next time I go. Thanks..

People grow yuzu trees in Tucson and can't give their extra fruit away. I's read a posting on a neighborhood site about "pick your own" from several trees in someone's yard. And, like you, have never actually seen them in the market. But I can understand that - they really can't be eaten straight. Maybe drenched in honey. But they make a grapefruit seem like candy.
