  1. Apologies for double-posting. Here's alternative links for the official ISU DVD materials posted earlier, since a few of the links died: Jump video guide PCS video guide Dance video guides, the 21/22 Midnight Blues pattern & a short video on the Jr. Blues pattern by @wtficedance on Twitter, they also have other ID goodies on their account https://twitter.com/wtficedance/status/1428484823744606214?s=2
  2. Apparently Noémie is retiring due to injury Planning to go to University. https://www.instagram.com/p/CSw5D_PoYMj/?utm_medium=copy_link
  3. Beautifully said, I completely agree with everything you wrote. There's many skaters that are beautiful and emotional to watch, but Yuzu to me is the rare one in a million that completely transports me to another world... His best programs feel just like a warm selfless gift from heaven, like being granted a glance at something higher than myself and make me forget all about my mortal worries. I'll never know how he does it, but I'm so grateful for it
  4. I never knew he said that, but it makes perfect sense to me, that's one of the things I love the most about his skating... I don't know how to explain, but his skating to me isn't just "feminine" or just "macho" like most skaters, but sort of both at the same time, strong and gentle, bold and confident, sweet and humble etc. it's the perfect balance of what I think figure skating could be (balancing between Heaven and Earth basically). I think that's partly why his skating touches my heart more than anyone else's, especially his more abstract/nature programs like HYK or Swanyu, they feel so boundless and kind of universal, like he's transcended the mortal plane for a few minutes
  5. How would the Worlds team work for countries that didn't even have nationals this season (like the Koreans), do they just send whoever had the best ws last year or what? I'm hoping naively isu change their minds and just cancel it, it's not worth the risk imo
  6. Thank you Do you know how long these will stay up?
  7. Right Thanks for reminding me, I'd totally forgotten she's going. Can't wait to see it!
  8. They were amazing! Love these 2 I really liked W/C too, such quality ss, even though their free dance pales a little bit in comparison for me to this one. I loved Ling/Wein's unusual program too
  9. Huh, on one hand I'm happy as I really didn't care for this one, I didn't feel like it suited her all that well so I get it... But the cup final is in about a month right? I don't know if that's enough time to prepare another one, she hasn't been in great shape this season Guess we'll see
  10. Please correct me if these don't belong here A few ice dance videos I found very helpful:
  11. That's what I'm thinking too, these might be only the first of many. Maybe after a season with no Worlds, we get a season with only Worlds. It would be the responsible thing to do but I kind of hope it doesn't have to come to that... Skating careers are so short and fragile anyway, I wonder if many will take this time off training to reflect and reconsider and decide it's just not worth it and retire. Not to mention losing jumps, stamina.. Whatever happens skating in the Olympic year will probably look very different
  12. Me too Koshiro
  13. Omg... Ilyushechkina partnerless again And here I though they'd grow into a great pair.. I hope she doesn't retire
  14. Wow very interesting (and original music!!) Can't wait to see it, I think this style of music fits her well
  15. Oh I've been wanting to see her skate to this!! Best news all day
  16. I also got into skating via ladies' (and Yuna/Mao) but the recent ladies' field has been mostly uninspiring to me, I'm firmly team Japan My favorites are Kaori, Rika, Satoko, Mai... I also really enjoy watching Korean ladies and some "lower" ranking skaters like Emmi Peltonen and Ivett Toth
  17. Short new article on Han Yan https://www.ifsmagazine.com/han-yan-finds-a-silver-lining
  18. Lol. Why not just split the judging panel or actually enforce some rules on the judges for once? Give me a break. In the end it's always the skaters that suffer the most, the people that actually ARE the sport and the ones audience put money in ISU sponsors' pockets to see (hard as it may be for some ISU officials to believe...) Don't see how this'll do anything positive to advance the sport just like +5 GOE hasn't but whatever, ISU bigwigs will just end up doing whatever and that's that
  19. Nice English translated interview with Liza after Nationals https://www.ifsmagazine.com/elizaveta-tuktamysheva-quads-axels-a-victorious-defeat/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  20. Apologies if this was posted, Stephane in Champery with skiier Camillia Berra carrying the torch for YOG 2020
  21. French Fed press release: https://ffsg.org/communique-de-presse-article-usa-today-10-12-19/
  22. I hope she recovers well... wouldn't wish back problems on anyone...
  23. Pity Hosoda didn't make it. Apparently her second regionals was really rough
  24. I voted Seimei too, just because I think it would be funny if he brought back his world record breaking monster fp for a gala but not gonna lie I'd really love seeing HYK again
