Hahaha, well we've had quite a few snow days too in the past week. In all honesty, he'd probably have fan incidents anywhere if he has a "regular" route they can discern. I mean, we all look at potential flights whenever he flies for competitions. But I do believe, for the most part, his life in Toronto is fairly normal. The majority of people here wouldn't recognize/know who he is. Plus it's a very multicultural city - sure the signs are in English, but I don't even think people would turn to look at him twice if they hear Japanese.
-
It's because there isn't one.... There are no direct flights from Toronto to Turin (and return) this time of the year. The "best" flight (i.e. shortest time) from Toronto to Turin is Toronto - Frankfurt - Turin.....the flight he was on.

My friend also noticed this yesterday while trying to register..... I guess I also heaved while having to agree with ISU's policies?

it was. But I have managed to vote now. Although I feel like I’m back in high school voting on popularity polls.
-
If the people crashing the voting page is Weibo’s 640K member fanyu group, I’m kind of okay with this crashing. They’re probably doing what I was going to do 10 times better anyway.

I have the same error and was starting to wonder if it was just me..... I can log in, but voting page won’t load at all.

I actually think Origin 2.0 is one of the most beautiful costumes I've seen this season. The detailing with the butterflies are gorgeous. I would vote for it over 99% of other costumes, men or ladies. Re: Lifetime achievement award - my personal opinion is that it should go to someone who has contributed to figure skating all through their life in many ways. Hence "lifetime". While I will readily agree that Yuzu is already a legend, I think it's more appropriate if it goes to someone like...for example, Brian - who has a list of achievements as a competitive skater, and also continues to contribute to the sport by building a skating program, holding camps and classes, coaching a whole list of elite skaters, and promoting love for the sport.

I'm not going to GPF but would love one too. Not sure any Canadians are going to GPF. If not, would you mind if I used the design and printed it for myself?

I’m the opposite haha. I respond much better to my real name, and I remember most of the satellites I met at SCI by faces and real names and not your Planet names. I’m for the pins! Also, really like that it’ll be a reusable pin that we can take to competitions rather than just a sticker I’ll probably lose Day 1 of any comp I attend.

So amazing. I might have already rewatched it an unreasonable amount of times. Praying for a version with the stsq. Because I love that stsq.

I think there are 2 different issues here that people are reacting to which are getting muddled. 1) Did Mariah injure Eunsoo on purpose? 2) Is Eunsoo being bullied by Mariah at their training rink? They’re not mutually exclusive. Just because 1) may have been an accident doesn’t mean that 2) isn’t true. (The same as just because 2 didn’t happen doesn’t mean that 1 can’t.) The people “defending” Mariah, and Larkyn and Meagan’s reactions, are mostly reacting to 1). They’ve concluded because 1) isn’t true (and I think a lot of us agree it’s at least unlikely due to a number of reasons), then 2) must be a lie. Either that, or they are unaware of issue 2) as it doesn’t seem to be mentioned in the tweets (and the headlines I’ve seen are all about 1). Even the ISU investigation has only been focused on that, but I think issue 2 also warrants an investigation. As for Larkyn and Meagan, I’m hoping they’re just unaware of issue 2, which has kind of been buried under the sensationalism of issue 1. Otherwise, I’d be quite disappointed in our Canadian skaters. Personally, I’m still kind of on the fence about the whole thing, mostly because we haven’t heard directly from the parties involved. The only thing I’m sure of is that neither Eunsoo nor Mariah deserve any of the harassment, abuse, death threats, etc. that have been appearing on social media. It is literally not helping anyone.

Seriously, I thought Javi was done making me cry after Euros. Then that documentary came out and he made me cry again. And then this....
-
Thanks for the documentary, Japan. Here’s all the tears I didn’t cry over European since I got the president of Belarus instead of Javi.

Thank you for this. I was just beating myself up over not downloading that video while I had the chance. Let's hope it's still there when I get home tonight! Will not miss downloading it again.

Not just throwing a towel at someone, but specifically a white towel over someone's head is meant for dead people. So in throwing the white towel over his head, the person is cursing him, like a "I hope you die" kind of thing. (It makes me super sad and angry at the same time someone would do that to a teenager. The look on his face when he was standing on the podium at 2012 Nationals breaks my heart every time.)
