Back a bit about Yuzu and Kurt. At Skate America there's a video saying Kurt is excited with 2 things Yuzu said to him, right? The first one is 4A and the second one is a personal one. I think (more like hope, actually) there is a possibility that the personal one is about Yuzu asking Kurt to make an EX program for him. I think this is plausible since his story of 'Requiem of Heaven and Earth' and 'Notte Stellatta' will finally have its closure with 'Haru Yo, Koi'. I have shared my opinion earlier on what I think his 'weakness' is so I won't comment about it further. Now, I have a burning question in my mind for the last 2-3 days (After getting annoyed by Tara's and some comments on YT videos from Skate America, actually). The question is, how would you see a skater as 'artistic' and deduced them at the same level or not? I might be biased as hell, but I'm thinking the difference between Yuzu and the current top skaters is that Yuzu enacted a story with his programs. There is always something behind those programs and on his good days he is capable to sell it very well and engaging my emotions as the result. Sorry for having to read my shortened rant here, but how would you actually see it?

IMHO his greatest strength: musicality, analytical mind, perfectionism can also be his greatest weakness on occasions. His jump timing is closely tied with his music, for example. When he is ON the result is amazing, but when something is OFF he can miss things.

I noticed about his season photobook, but not about his Yuzuru II since I am still waiting for mine. One of my friends is in Japan now and she offered to buy me some selection for my 'shrine' as she called it.

The lack of love for Dory is hilarious yet so understandable. That yellow... cape is surely distracting. LOL. I was so shocked when I see the pic for the first time, but kinda revised my opinion when I see the video (or maybe by the time I has become de-sensitized with it) I think Otonal is blue coz Johnny's also in blue. And the lighting at ACI made it appear greyish. Need to see how it looks later in Finland though. It is funny that I usually bemoans how fast the time go, but at this time I am simply happy that his first GP event will come in two weeks time.

When scoring I tried to match how good the costume is to represent the program as well. I think that is why I came up with that top 3 and why Otonal goes so much down at the 17th. Although I like that costume I still have difficulties to imagine "autumn" with it.

Have the same tough decision for the costume one. It makes me realize I am such a sucker for his LGC looks.

My first try got 7 first position and I try to be firm for my second try. Got to say that some questions are really, really tough, but in the end it is his Olympics Seimei that moves me the most so I think I got it about right here.

Kuyashii returns at first competition after Olympics. Even faster than the prediction and with gold. Well, now that I have the first pancake I can wait patiently for the second pancake one month from now. Take your time, Yuzu, and train those spins! PS: And got those pinkie checked if you haven't already.

AFAIK, his training and competition-related travelling expenses are covered by ANA. What's the purpose of being sponsored by an airline if you cannot fly free, right? Those two are the most expensive aspects of the sport. His funding from JSF too is also a top notch one (him being the best JPN male skater) although I do not know how much he got (Being Yuzu, it is also possible for him not to take JSF funding and ask them to share it to other skaters. He is that considerate). Since Yuzu is not managed by an agency, all of his earnings are his alone (CMIIW, is he required to give a cut of non-skating earnings to JSF?) That is why I said that his ANA sponsorship and P&G ads alone should be enough to cover his skating expenses (and more, such as his earphone-collecting hobby) since he did ads for multiple P&G products. And then there's still ads for multiple Lotte products. And so on. With those sources if income listed, it can be seen that although figure skating is an obviously expensive sport, Yuzu is simply not in the same situation as Nam. He might be, once, but those days are over.

And several others too, actually. Consider those as a bonus. 😂

Or the fathers/grandfathers bought his calendar to send those to their sons/grandsons as an indirect message to tell them they should emulate Yuzu. What a depressing concept (due to the high level of difficulty).

Seeing the ads makes me want to order the photo book immediately but I have just splurged on an IEM. Anyway, to continue discussion about his net-worth, I'd like to think it is more than enough. His contract with ANA and P&G alone should assure that even though he keeps donating his winning prize (some cynic might have claimed that it is a calculated move to boost his public image, but honestly I don't give a damn. The world could be a much better place if more people can be like Yuzu and care more about their public image).

I am one of the clueless one. Often times when I went to malls with my friends they will whisper things like "Hey that is those actress/singer" and I'll just "Huh, who?" But then, a friend of mine has idolized Alessandro del Piero for a long time, so when she heard that he played for a club in Australia she went there, watching him on practice and wait for about 5 hours to ask for a selfie and autograph. And she is very happy about it.

Hmmm... Certainly got a point there. I'd imagine he would not mind as long as the fan being courteous about it, but probably they also need to be considerate about what he is doing or who he is with. On the other hand, I can also understand the urge to approach your idol in a once in a lifetime situation....

Because in the time span of 1-2 minutes some people would prefer to have photos to memorize the meeting. And maybe as a proof that the meeting is not just a hallucination lol.

If you ask for permission first and he is okay with it, why not?

With the wide range of fans' obsession toward him, hope he will always careful and has sufficient protection. I have seen how some fans chasing after their idols (sometimes those incidents even make it to the news here) and with his idol status he is bound to experience same things. Regrettable, but instead of being optimistic on the situation I'd prefer him (and his security team) to be alert.

I also think that at CiONTU he is at an uncertain phase of what to do next after finally achieving what he wanted for a very long time. I am still laughing whenever I remember how short his zen phase last though. As for his "skating for himself", I have similar opinion that it is to lower expectation for him. Not as excuse for if he did not well in next competitions though, but as forewarning if people give shit about his music choices and such. (which still happened even after the claim. Sigh.)

I don't actually got the feeling that Otonal is too short at the front. Uh, probably because I mentally compared it to LGC. My only 'complaint' about the costume is that it is blue. I have a hard time to imagine "autumn" with the color. His all three costumes this year have some similarities and distinction though. With his involvement in his costumes, I cannot help to wonder if this is planned. The color changes, the deep V, the back pattern on Otonal and Haru Yo Koi...

Origin is on par with Hope and Legacy, Seimei ver 2, and Notte Stellata for me.

I'm back from comatose. On first look, Otonal seems better. Origin on first look (from far, far away) looks like a gnarled tree skin. But from close look, Jeez, Origin is a thing of beauty.
