  1. She probably took it in stride, then went home asking herself "Why me?"
  2. He absolutely did that. But does anyone else find it just slightly weird not to see Javi gliding by in the background? I do. Feels like something's missing.
  3. He looks healthy, happy, and even a little bit tanned. I'm pleased.
  4. Looks like he has plenty of room to draw in his arms and tighten up to produce a faster rotation and get that extra revolution in...at least to my amateur eye...
  5. I'm not sure that he is this time. I think he's being honest. He's simply planning to drop a 4A on our heads sometime soon, and it's nice of him to warn us in advance, so we can order our wigs before our hair falls out completely...
  6. And thank God for that. Anyway, my thoughts on the music: I'm willing to trust Yuzu on the Nijinsky, and I know he'll make his SP awesome whatever the music is, but I can't help feeling a bit disappointed that he went for yet another classical piano piece for it, especially right after doing Chopin. I was hoping for a complete change of genre and tempo etc. That being said, I know he'll make something good with it, so I will await ACI with hope.
  7. Talk about pressure...it's like Yuzu deliberately goes out and looks for it. So extra though.
  8. It's not good to speculate about this. Yuzu is on the record as saying he would have done whatever it took...even if it caused him further injury.
  9. be optimistic. Yuzu is finally free to spend the next four years skating any dang way he pleases...you think he's going to let an opportunity like that pass?
  10. Second article: oh wow According to my Google auto-translate, this one says he's been training the quads already and hopes to do 4A this season. At first I thought it said he's been training 4A but it's unclear.
  11. Clicked through the photos at the bottom of the article. It makes me so happy to see that they had to start a second panel for their Olympic winners, and that Javi is the first one on it.
  12. Oh God he looks so beautiful. Clearly he's been working on his lines. Looks like ballet. Also, my computer gave me the best auto-translate fail just now. It translated the caption of the main photo as "Hanyu Knitting Public Practice"
  13. Word. Honestly that post by Phan makes me feel rather sorry for Yuzu today. Also, guys, it occurs to me that this might be a bit of a media week at TCC, rather than just a day. The CBC did their bit on Stephen yesterday, today the Japan press are doing Yuzu. I can't imagine the Russian media are planning to leave Evgenia alone if there's footage to be had, and there's also the US (Jason) and Korean (Jun) media that might want a piece. It would be logical if Brian and TCC have just decided to have everyone in on the same week. So , hopefully, maybe, you never know, we might be getting quite a few stories.
  14. Stop being the voice of reason darnit! I want to scream and flap my arms and jump up and down in excitement, not be sensible.
  15. ...umm, yeah... legs. That's it. That's the part those pants show off...legs. That's my story and i'm sticking to it.
  16. Brian trying to coach his athlete through the glass, computer, and however many miles in between...
  17. I love these photos. And I like the two of them. However, maybe other satellites can correct me if I'm wrong here but...ever since I watched their duo number from FAOI this year, I keep having this little sneaky feeling that Stephane is still the better skater...I hope I don't start any fires by saying that but does anyone else see it?
  18. That'd be some kind of record! She'd be 39...it would probably make her the oldest female skater at Olympics ever, if she did it. I hope that she does. Oh my. You know who's going to be wanting to try this next, right?
  19. *Tosses a Pooh at you. "Wheeeee!" says Pooh. "Such fun! And it helps me train for the season too!"* Sailing through the air in arenas doesn't just happen, you know. it takes practice. 'Legs Appreciation Spin' sounds so much nicer. Although I like the camel spin for that.
  20. I dunno, I think half the reason it's so devastating is because it's unconscious on his part. Or, he does it, then realizes a second later and thinks "Oops, not again.." So please pass those tissues
  21. And then have to protest in an interview later that he totally didn't mean to do it....
  22. Now we must fight. I get why it's in the programs. I just personally find it looks awkward on most of the skaters, including Yuzu.
  23. Yes, me too. That's what I was referring to when I said 'travelling sit spin'. I wonder if he could come up with anothen twizzle variation.
  24. Besides the music and the hair, what moves would you all really like to see in this year's programs? The jumps are a given but what else would you like to see? Personally, I love Yuzu's travelling sit spin and want to see more of it. It's a really unique move and I can't think of anyone else who's currently doing it in the men's. I'd be quite happy if it turned up in both programs, along with the Ina Bauer. Are there any of his moves that you could do without? I never want to see that blasted A- spin (butt spin) again, from anyone, ever.
  25. The funny thing is, you know he'd make it work. About any Gogolev hype: I think it would be hard not to get hyped about a kid Brian's training who's only 13 and can already do all 5 quads and 3A (it seems a given that once he gets old and strong enough, he'll be trying for Nessie, too - who wouldn't?) and especially in Canada, where we seem to be able to train 'em, but we can't win 'em when it counts. That being said, he's not a hockey player, so the hype from our press will be minimal by comparison to what might happen in other countries (like Japan). If he were a hockey player, though, well...Sydney Crosby comes to mind...the coverage that guy got before he was even old enough to drive was nearly nauseating...talk about pressure.
