All right who's watching ice dance? Carolane & Shane having twizzle trouble again today

Ilia annoyed me because: this afternoon when he did his runthrough in practice, he didn't do the 4A, but he was a lot sharper on all the other things, like the ChSq and so on. Then tonight he does the 4A, but all the rest of the program goes to pot...argh argh argh. As for his lutz, I didn't catch it fully but it looked decent

And that concludes our evening's splatfest, ladies and gentlemen... Did any of the men go clean? Happy for Jun!

Liam's jump axes give me heart attacks and it looks like Selevko's luck has deserted him. All I ask now is for Roman and Jun to have a goooood night. Am I asking too much?

It looks great rinkside. Maybe doesn't translate well on TV? Also, once again with the weird-ass scores...Isabeau was very delightful but I would have put Haien above her. Kaori obviously wasn't happy with her skate even before the scores but she still merited 1st place IMO. But the score itself? Yoyr guess is as good as mine

KanaDai just did a fabulous job! They were practicing that lift so hard on Thursday

Honestly all the skating was excellent. The only flaws were the flubbed jumps. I haven't seen such an across-the-board good-at-skating skills group of men in a long time.

I will say this about Roman: he stayed on his feet even when his jumps went wrong, which is an improvement. 2019 Roman would have been on his butt with those. So he's still getting better. Kao's skate was absolute magic. He nailed every detail. And he held the audience's attention riveted throughout. He deserved his high scores. (In case anyone's wondering, I'm at SkAm this weeked. Section 107, row H, seat 4 if satellites want to visit.) If I may dip in pairs for a moment: it was sheer joy to watch both (sweetly drama-free) skates by the Canadians. So nice to see a clean short program from any Canadian team.
