He's alive! We have crumbs to prove it! Love these photos of him. He looks so light-hearted and carefree.

Happy Birthday, Yuzuru! May this year bring you everything you need and nothing you don't, and the inspiration to tell the difference. Can't wait to see you skate again, whenever that may be.

It's really interesting, and the music makes me picture a completely different type of movement than that in Otonal. Rondo seems expressly designed for the kind of light, quick foot movements that were really popular in fs in the 90s, but done in a prancier, almost kitten like fashion. To put it bluntly, when I hear Rondo, the image that comes into my head is a playful, cute, whimsical kitty Zuru.

wow. considering how young and inexperienced some of the skaters are in this competition, that has to be painful for Nam Good to see Gogolev back with Lee Barkell. Even though Raf is a good coach in many ways, the move to California always seemed to me like a bad idea for Stephen.

It's really special to me that Yuzu's gold is directly above Alexandre Bilodeau's. Long story short, Bilodeau is good people and his medal win was very emotional. Two good people in a row there.

I understand the frustration, but NBC's coverage of figure skating has always been abysmal. And the commentators will say any old thing to fill in airtime. It's wiser to watch skating elsewhere, and save yourself the aggravation

Ahhh don't give him Ideas!!!

figure skating is definitely one of those sports where everything is fine...until it isn't. Like, even as a lifelong, but very novice-level, skater as I am, you can go out on the ice a thousand times with no problem, and on the thousand and first, one tiny moment of inattention, one unlucky step, and you could fall and break your wrist or crack your head and get a concussion, just from doing plain old stroking, and very slowly at that. Someone skating at Yuzu's speed and doing the things he does on the ice regularly? It's a high-wire act, make no mistake about it.

I did not, but good catch!

So here is the music video Roman shot. The singer is Roman's friend Toy Noah, who also skates and currently works for Disney On Ice: Both the video and the song are much higher quality than I was expecting.

Well-deserved, in my opinion. And I don't even like baseball.

About Yuzu withdrawing from Rostelecom: Just keep healing, Yuzu. Get that ankle back in good shape before worrying about anything else. And we`ll see you when you`re ready to get back on the ice.

Well it could be worse, it could be in her knee, which would probably have ended their season completely
-
Am I wrong for hoping the man just shuts up? Don't talk about your skaters that way in the press!
-
I hope it's not too serious and she recovers quickly
-
Knowing Roman, I'm sure it will look gorgeous and make us laugh.

And now for something completely different...
-
Aww Nam...
-
That's the best part!

I like the 3rd one, but it's not Yuzu's style. I could see him doing #4 though
-
OH MY GOSH I LAUGHED OUT LOUD
-
I think so. The attempts he made at GPF Torino, you could totally see it was one extra rotation.

Yuzu ever-so-casually answered an interview question about how his 4A was going by saying he could now jump 4F and the whole thing was in the NHK Cup pamphlet. So some fanyus shared on weibo and Twitter, and here we are in Frost Cuckoo Land. Guys, do you suppose the reason he learned to jump 4F was because 4A was being such a challenge that he switched to working on 4F for a break? So basically out of frustration?
-
I feel like these would do for the violin version, but if he's using piano the effect of the music is different. So I can't wrap my head around the red. Maybe something Swanyu-esque?
-
Thank you for the perfect case study of how fanyus lose their minds! Seriously, Yuzu, how we supposed to stay sane?
