  1. I'll contribute to ending the draught. My intellectual side says my favorite is Gum for the game, and Amino Vital as a close second, because they are some cinematic, well filmed, and classy . Then on my fan girl side, he just looks so kakoii in those shots with all black clothes .
  2. Its on now! Maybe worth being saturated with a 20 year history of J pop hits. That was fantastic, but too short. Never thought I’d say that about a CM
  3. If Lotte knows that it is prohibited in Singapore, they might not send it there, it might get returned to sender even if sent, so think it is risky that you might lose money. If you bring it through immigration yourself, don't know if they would find it, but is there a big fine for bringing in prohibited goods? Poor Fanyus have to go through a lot for their " hobby"
  4. For those of you willing to spend more money on Yuzu goodies , there is another way to get the 4 new Lotte gum clear files. You can get them through the Lotte online site, in a campaign that started today and lasts until next Sunday; they are made to order, so everyone who wants them can get them. However, you need to buy a pack of 6 family size bottles of lotte gum (family back is more than 2x as big as a regular one), which costs about 5000 Yen in total (more or less a few yen); seems expensive, but it is a lot of gum and may be worth it. You get one set of 4 different files with a purchase. Make sure you click on the Yuzu file pic when you access the online site and then add the gum through that link; after you add the gum to your cart, click on the cart. At that time, the clear files will not appear in the cart. Click the red link to go to the next step, at which you click on the brown link. The next screen should show your cart with the gum and 4 clear files set (0 Yen); then fill in the rest of your info. You may have to fill out the address in Japanese, but I'm not sure, since you may not be able to finalize your order if you can't at least put your name in kana; don't know because I can type in Japanese on my system. Please make sure the files appear in your cart. Maybe someone who has tried thisin English will post here. You can view a translation of the site in English and I've been told they accept foreign credit cards. However, the package may be heavy 6 x 143 grams and don't know about overseas shipping. I will just pay for mine via the convenience store since I'm in Japan. To get them at Aeon grocery store, I think you need to buy 2 regular size containers for one file; however, this has not shown up at my local store yet. For those of you in Tokyo, Osaka, etc. , are the files available in Aeon yet? Meanwhile, my kids have a supply of gum for a while now !
  5. Now everyone is paranoid about losing data, especially when you try to publish and the reviewers have a million questions. I'm keeping mine backed up on several hard drives, along with my "million" Yuzu pics and videos---must keep my priorities straight
  6. Thank you @FlyingCamel! We are okay! The people to the southwest of us were much harder hit.
  7. I'm a bit late, but as someone living in the rain ravaged part of Japan, I want to say thank you to Yuzu for mentioning this situation in his Japanese interview during the awards. He truly has great empathy for people and this is one reason I'm such a fan of his. We are fortunate that our house in on a small hill, but far enough from steeper parts, so no flooding and no danger of landslides. Even for the Japanese rainy season, the rain fall was much greater than usual; about 400mm + in the course of 48 hours and it has been raining for the past couple of weeks. My old research institute, unfortunately by a big river, was flooded. It was good that we were "stuck" in Japan for a longer time due to the Covid situation (had been in the UK for work the last 10 years), since at least we could fix our roof before the rains started. Last year was bad also and I definitely feel that it is a consequence of ocean warming, exacerbating the rain potential.
  8. This towel in your link is from the online Yuzuru Hanyu photo exhibit, which also has an online shop. The towels we were talking about is for the Nishikawa Cool summer campaign. You buy a towel and you can select two types of Yuzu clear file sets (from FaOI last year; one with the exhibition numbers including Masquerade and the other one with pics of Yuzu from the group numbers). Because the files are very popular, most people would pick the cheapest item that qualifies (need to spend 1000 Yen), so it's better to pick a slightly more expensive one. The towels are just normal towels Sorry someone else already answered, so this is just duplicate info. Guess I have the Nishikawa campaign on my mind .
  9. Something on a lighter note, since I was silly even to try ---the Nishikawa online shop crashed right after noontime, when you could buy a summer campaign towel to get a Yuzu clear file (set B). Inspite of pre-registering and having the "cool towel" in my shopping basket and pressing buy as soon as my watch said 12:00.
  10. Yes, everyone thinks I'm a Japanese fan, even if I am not carrying a Pooh---until I open my mouth to speak !
  11. I just logged on to the Online Exhibition store and bought some more Yuzu-related goods ! Ordered clear files and some towels, which comes in handy in humid Japan. The site is easy to navigate and it can be translated to English through Google translater. However, I had some problems when checking out: you have to put your name in katakana (required) before you could go on to the buy dialogue and I was unable to use the pull-down list for prefecture (even though I live in Japan). I could type my name in katakana, but I think it might be difficult for people without a Japanese keyboard. I wrote them an e-mail about fixing this situation, since gaijin fans who don't speak Japanese may want to order. Site also has stuff from the 2018 exhibition, but I couldn't find the Sendai pamphlet (maybe it's somewhere else). Good luck you guys, but since its made to order, maybe it's not any rush---thank goodness, even though the goods will take longer to arrive. I was just sitting at my desk and shopping was more fun than reviewing a bunch of papers
  12. Agree with @Geo1 that having them shipped directly to you might be the cheapest and most efficient option. Tax is 10% in Japan, so that would be deducted from your price and shipping by a friend in Japan is expensive if you use FedEx or even DHL, since Japan post may not be accepting packages to be sent to the US. I tried to ship my daughter in the US a package and the post office said they weren't accepting packages until further notice; there are very few planes flying to the US from Japan now and some packages had been stuck at the origin post office in Japan for a long time. Maybe, you can all have them shipped by Amazon as one package. I did manage to get all 3 photobooks and I liked the Yuzu'll be Back 2 and the third photobook (such nice photos that I wished it had a hard cover like an art book) by Yaguchi-san the best. I splurged because I knew it would be unlikely to attend any comps this year and thought I'd make the best of being "stuck" in Japan for a while. Just joking though, really enjoy living in Japan and fortunately my prefecture has had no new cases of the virus for a long time.
  13. Salted cherry blossoms are a great taste accent for sweets, kind of like the idea of salt in caramel. It looks pretty and spring-like. For example, in sweet bean paste buns (like anpan) and once I had it as an accent in flan with kuromitsu ( brown sugar syrup), yummy!
  14. I couldn't access the video again, so not sure, but looks like pork with ginger (low fat) and miso soup with white fish and scallops. Looks like home cooking to me and very healthy. If it was for me though, I could never handle such a big bowl of rice or I would gain weight just by looking at it
  15. From my TV schedule, this broadcast of NHK Trophy 10-year Yuzu special will be on 29 April (Wed) 10-11:20 pm, NHK general (NHKG) , Japan time . I’ll be watching again, since I can never get enough of his programs.
  16. Fortunately, it’s not a typical Japanese food! It says ringo no risotto (apple risotto) Bacon looks good though if you are not a vegetarian and the broccoli is healthy .
  17. I'm a bit late to the alcohol discussion, but many East Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) have a variant form of the enzyme (alcohol dehydrogenase) that converts alcohol (ethanol) to acetaldehyde (which is toxic); it is more efficient, so more acetaldehyde is accumulated in a shorter time, which causes flushing, etc. The acetaldehyde is then broken down by another enzyme (acetaldehyde dehydrogenase), so if this enzyme is also the less active genetic variant, you have a "double whammy", and can't drink much if any alcohol at all. Okay, enough biochemistry. Back to practical real life, neither my Japanese husband nor my son and daughter (Japanese/Chinese) can drink much alcohol at all---it's not a pleasant experience! Fortunately, even though there is a lot of pressure to drink with your co-workers, there is less stigma to refusing to do so now and you can always drink one of the zero alcohol beers (actually about 0.5%) or volunteer to be the designated driver! And for me, who has asthma, if I drink anything, I start to have a wheezing attack , in addition to turning super red! Don't know if this affects Yuzu this way, but it is a possibility.
  18. I'll post on this thread my badge preferences . I would like the green Seimei, with sparkly crystals, with my name as Stephanie/Ladysci; following Umebachi's good example!
  19. Thank you for doing this ---should we post our preferences on the Worlds message thread or here?
  20. Unless you have a friend in Japan who can purchase them and send them to you, I think ordering them from Amazon.co.jp (which has the option of viewing in English) or CD Japan for books and magazines would be the most convenient. Unfortunately, the postage will be expensive with any option, even if a friend helps you out, but it helps if you have them shipped all together instead of when each become available, but of course you might have to wait longer to get them.
  21. Is this Tenjin station? Understandably, the usually very crowded station looks emptier than usual, but the pics could also been taken during a non-rush hour. So the campaign has started and not only these beautiful ads, but the products themselves are available in Kyushu it seems ----although they are still expensive as cosmetics go!
  22. From my perspective Jpn officials are good with schmoozing among themselves but not so good with exerting their influence outside Japan. At least that’s what I’ve noticed in my field.
  23. Yes I want that too! It's called Figure Skating Art Costumes and costs 4620 Yen on amazon.co.jp It's an oversized book, so maybe not that bad for an "art book"---you know the type you put on your coffee table to impress your guests . Just use amazon.co.jp in English and type in the English version of the title.
  24. Awful costume, marginal color, top is wrinkly Don't even want to imagine what the bottom half looks like. So all the other colors are photoshopped variations, I guess.
  25. You can look for magazines at some of the big bookstores like Maruzen (next to the north exit of Tokyo station) or Kinokuniya (Shinjuku, Shibuya, smaller branches elsewhere). Ghana chocolate bars are available most everywhere , including Family mart, 7-11, grocery stores; try the new strawberry flavoured white chocolate bar—- delicious, but too late for the clear folder campaign. As for other goods, maybe a Satellite from Tokyo can help, since I live on the other side of Japan, but in Tokyo occasionally. Good luck!
