  1. I think I'm forced to be extroverted at work because I'm in a competitive field. Think everything is relative and what culture you are living in. When I'm not at work, people considered me quite introverted when I lived in the US, but when I lived in Japan, most of the people thought I was quite extroverted and assertive. I'm pretty much happy to stick with a small group of friends and never did much partying, etc.---even when I was young enough to do that . Married to a quiet guy, so I'm forced to do the social small talk most of the time, which I don't really enjoy.
  2. Thanks for the reminder and link. I'm not ready at all since it will around midnight here in the UK when ticket sales start, but I'll sure have my credit card ready and try!
  3. Wow---love this photo, in character and so intense. Black and red being my favorite combo doesn't hurt either---now really hoping for a dark Seimei costume with major red accents!
  4. And looks very healthy and happy too
  5. Thanks for the "warning" you guys ---maybe will go to sleep , since it's 11:30 PM here, so I'll at least be awake if there's news tomorrow. Good to hear that he's healthy and in good condition too!
  6. I have so many pages to catch up on, I think I'll start from the last post and read backwards ...
  7. Just think of how many pages this thread will explode to if that happened
  8. Thank you everyone for all the information about the Autumn Classic Maybe I'll try the e-mail method---since I'd have to come a long way and it would feel more secure to at least have a reserved ticket set aside that I can pay for when I get there. I think my husband, who faithfully attends lots of skating events with me, inspite of being a track and field guy, will come too, especially since the venue sounds friendly and it's near Montreal! We can take a brief vacation and the temp should be okay since it's not winter yet!
  9. Last year, did they sell tickets for the Autumn Classic right before or about a couple weeks before the event? Sorry, if this has been discussed before and I couldn't find it . Would love to go but would need some time to plan and find a reasonable excuse to take time off from work As flights go, the eastern part of Canada is relatively close to the UK.
  10. Need to do that before the "Great Border Wall" gets built Sorry for the political message
  11. He can wear this undercover and still wear the blue costume many of us want
  12. Same experience here---the novelty of transferring brushing data to my phone app wore off after a couple weeks, but still find how the toothbrush pauses slightly to tell you to move on to the next quadrant quite useful. However when you're in a hurry, the 30 sec per quadrant seem like an eternity . Also, the BT connection drains the battery pretty fast.
  13. If I can say this here , I don't think the boobshirt is suitable anymore for his current more physique.
  14. Borrowed English words with Japanese pronunciation were one of the hardest things for me, since I'm from the US, because I would pronounce something in the way I'm used to and some Japanese people would not understand me. However, the reverse side is that putting borrowed words in Katakana makes it more difficult to learn English conversation. Also, I think that it sometimes makes for some rather amusing printed sayings on tee-shirts .
  15. I love cats , but sadly my current home doesn't allow pets. If you don't mind me asking---what kind of cats do you have and do you have more than one? If I'm going to be eaten by them if I favor the wrong costume , I should at least know what to run away from At least I don't favor the boob shirt, so I don't need to worry, but would like a dark teal costume
  16. Yes, Believe was amazing. The Ina Bauer in that always gives me the chills , every time I watch it. When the camera showed parts of the audience, they all seemed to be so emotionally involved watching him skate to that piece.
  17. From what I remember, Oguro Maki sings more powerful ballads and Anri is a bit more romantic and wispy---of course, it's been a while since I've heard either of them or j-pop for that matter, so I might be wrong. Doesn't Yuzu usually do one romantic ballad type song, like Believe, in a show?
  18. I agree that being ambiguous about your jump layout and plans is a good strategy because it is best not to reveal your plans to your rivals too early and as Meoima said, it's good for keeping the media, especially the Jpn media off his back. Guess I'm getting a bit cynical as I get older, but you can't always tell the transparent truth, and it's not telling a lie of if you skirt around the issue a bit .
  19. This would go well with the Xylitol white "prince" outfit with the dreaded gold ruffles (sorry, just catching up with all the posts)
  20. Became a fan at Worlds 2012, so was also a fan before Sochi and It was super stressful watching on TV by myself. Remember closing my eyes for the first 2 jump passes and only listening. Have gotten less calm about competitions he's in over time even, but there are people to worry with me on this forum , so we should stick together and be strong !
  21. Great to see the forum back online again---really missed my Sunday afternoon of relaxing leisurely reading all the posts with a giant cup of coffee in hand. Lots of new posts already. Really like the new format---it's much easier to read and looks so neat. Thanks you guys for the fantastic job .
  22. Pomelo Pooh---did you take the photo? Impressive number of Chinese fans and great banners too!
  23. Now this is A+ and :goe: :omg: :omg: :omg:
  24. I also think that some non-Japanese, but Asian looking fans (no matter where they are from) get mistaken for Japanese by the media, when they pan over a sea of faces in the audience. Also, I think only the first 5 rows in the audience are clearly visible on camera most of the time and there were many Japanese and Asian fans in those rows. When I was Helsinki, I talked to several people who asked why I traveled so far for a competition and told me the Japanese fans were very loyal. This was kind of funny since I only traveled from the UK, which is pretty close to Helsinki :rofl2: We definitely should make the presence of international fans more evident !
